No Return (Shadow Slave Fan-Fic)

After finding a good hiding spot for Cassie, Sunny Nephis and Levi proceeded forward to face the scavengers. Soon, they saw two hulking silhouettes in the distance. Levi also summoned his Echo to protect her , in case something happened.

With her lips pursed together, Nephis threw over her shoulder:

"Keep up."

Then, like a runner preparing for a race, she got down on one knee, inhaled deeply ... and lunged forward. Levi immediately dashed after her , running past her rather easily , after all he was enchanted by a Divine Aspect , but he was confident he would be able to keep up with her even with no Aspects involved. 

It didn't take long for the Scavengers to notice them , but by that time Levi and Nephis were already upon them.

With madness burning in their eyes and viscous saliva dripping from their mandibles, the monsters screeched and charged forward. Levi went for right , Nephis went for the left.

After that Levi decided to only focus on his fight , clearing his mind off of Nephis and Sunny , He focused on the scavenger with a murderous grin on his face.

Two pincers shot through the air against Levi , he immediately stopped running and slid through the mud , ducking down he avoided the pincers rather easily.

As he closed in on the scavenger his memory infused arm immediately shot forward , his fist cut through the air , and landed on the Scavengers leg , the punch was aimed at its joint so Levi's fist immediately tore through the leg , and tore it off resulting in the Scavenger letting out a shriek. 

It was not even a second before the Scavengers pincer shot through the air once again , Levi immediately assumed his defensive stance , using his right arm as a shield , and supporting it with his left hand so he will absorb the force and not fall down.

Luckily Levi did not fall down , his right arm was already upon the pincer that struck him , he was going to perform a downward slam against the pincer with his right arm to tore it off. However things didn't go as he planned , because the Scavenger acted fast , Its other pincer already shooting through the air against Levi. 

Levi was forced to cancel his attack , and he was out in the because his right arm would not be able to reach to protect himself in time , so he decided to step forward..

As he stepped forward the pincer stabbed into his shoulder , he had done this because if he hadn't stepped forward it would have stabbed his torso and damage his heart. He would survive yes.. but he didn't want to try to endure the pain of being stabbed through the heart without dying , additionally he did not want the others to learn about his immortality.

When the pincer was stabbed into his shoulder , he let out a pained hiss. But Levi's smile returned to his face.. His both hands shot forward and immediately grip the 'arm' of the Scavenger. He had activated [Corrosion] beforehand , so when he gripped the 'arm' with all his might , it almost immediately disintegrated into dust and also damaged its torso , even if he was not touching the scavenger anymore , the corrosion was still spreading , albeit at a very slow pace.

The Scavenger looked like it was in a lot of pain as it let out a monstrous shriek , it took a few seconds to feel the pain on it , but that few seconds was all Levi needed.

He had closed in on the Scavenger after corroding its arm , he was right in front of its torso , what he did next would be considered as reckless but he did not really care. His mind was on full focus - focus on murdering the Scavenger in one punch.

Levi's feet left the ground as he leaped upwards , his right hand clenching into a fist as he swung it upwards.

The uppercut shot through the air with terrifying force. And as it connected with the scavenger's head , the punch tore its head and sent it flying into the air , azure blood gushing out of the wound like a fountain. Levi landed on the ground on his feet , and the scavenger limped and fell onto the ground.

With no time to listen to the Spell, Sunny tugged on the sword to dislodge it from the monster's head and hurried to help Nephis and Sunny. 

However.. as he turned their way.. it seemed there was no need to. 

The other scavenger was lying in the mud, clearly dead. His limbs were still twitching, indicating that the fatal blow was delivered just moments ago. It seemed like they had used the same tactic.. Nephis had acted as the bait and Sunny had delivered the fatal blow.

Levi walked to them , it seemed no one was injured other than him. Nephis looked at him.

"Are you alright?"

There was a stab wound on Levi's shoulder , it seemed like it didn't restrict any of his left arm's movements.. so he shrugged.

"I'm fine. Its nothing serious."

"If you say so , any memories?"

Levi was about to reply with a no , but he decided to check his runes first.

Memories: [Pale Thorn] , [Colorful Cloak].

Levi smiled and immediately focused on the Colorful Cloak to check its runes.

Levi frowned when he saw the word 'Garment.'

Memory Description: [This cloak shall take any color you like.]

"Yes.. a memory.. how cool.."

he said sarcastically , causing Changing Star to raise a brow.

Levi decided to summon the memory into existence. The cloak was weaved into existence. It covered his whole torso , only his stomach and a little bit of his chest was exposed , and was extended until his knees , it had a hood but Levi took the hood off of him. It could also be draped behind his arms so it didn't hinder his movements.

It was said that it can change into any color.. and an image came to Levi's mind.

That woman's -Shashi's- red eyes.. for some reason his mind was wandering to that woman when he sees the color red. But this time the image of her eyes had came into his mind out of nowhere when he thought of a nice color... 

Levi shrugged , thinking that it was just a coincidence. He decided to think of the color "red" as he focused on the memory. And the cloak took the color of a crimson red color.

"Its a garment memory.. nothing special."

"Red looks nice on you." Sunny smirked as he talked.

"Thanks."

Nephis then turned to Sunny , she was disappointed that the memory was useless.

"Memory?"

"Let me check." Sunny replied , and suddenly his eyes widened.
