One Piece : Captain, We’ve Arrived at Laugh Tale

Chapter 12: Chapter 12 : Luffy, Look At That Long Nose

"One! Two! Praise!"

Jango shouted confidently, expecting Luffy to drop instantly.

But the moment he looked up with a triumphant smile, his face froze.

Luffy stood there, completely unaffected. Not even drowsy.

If this were the old Luffy, he probably would've fallen for it.

But this Luffy was different. His Conqueror's Haki was strong, and a weak Hypnosis technique like this had zero effect on him.

Luffy pouted. "Huh? That's it? Nothing happened!"

Jango's confidence shattered. His Hypnosis had always worked before—what was going on?!

Panicking, he resorted to his next trick.

He hurled his circular saws at Luffy, but with a slight tilt of his body, Luffy dodged them effortlessly.

The saws curved back, aiming for Luffy's head from behind.

But such a cheap trick wouldn't work.

Without even looking, Luffy reached back, grabbed both saws, and crushed them in his hands like they were made of paper.

"Did you really think something like this could beat me?"

Jango's face went pale.

Before he could react, Luffy was already in front of him—then BAM!

A single punch knocked Jango out cold.

Carl, watching from the ship, sighed.

The pirates in East Blue are just too weak. None of them could even give Luffy a proper warm-up.

Unless...

Carl suddenly smirked as a thought crossed his mind.

"What if I make Luffy fight with a Seastone bracelet on?"

The more he considered it, the more reasonable it sounded. East Blue was filled with weaklings—even with his Devil Fruit abilities restricted, Luffy could probably still handle them.

And if anything did go wrong, Carl could step in at any time. After all, he wouldn't be the one wearing the bracelet.

A sinister smile crept onto Carl's face.

Luffy, who had just knocked out Jango, suddenly shivered—but quickly shook it off, not thinking much of it.

Meanwhile, Zoro's fight had taken a turn.

At first, he was at a disadvantage against the Cat Brothers. But as the battle dragged on, he started adapting to their style.

Zoro thrived under pressure—once he figured them out, the Cat Brothers couldn't suppress him anymore.

Luffy grinned. "Zoro, need a hand?"

Zoro scoffed. "Nah. A couple of small fries like this aren't worth the captain's time."

Even in battle, Zoro's pride remained unshaken.

Luffy didn't say much after hearing Zoro's words. Instead, he called out to Nami to bring the boat over.

Nami was a bit surprised to see the Black Cat Pirates, with bounties totaling over 10 million Berry, wiped out so easily by just two people. But then again, considering Luffy's strength, it wasn't that shocking.

Still, deep inside, a voice kept screaming at her—urging her to take Luffy and the others to her hometown.

Meanwhile, Carl hopped onto the Black Cat Pirates' ship.

He glanced around and nodded in approval. Not bad. It was definitely an upgrade from Alvida's rust bucket, which was on the verge of sinking.

Luffy grinned. "Hee hee! Mr. Carl, I've claimed this ship! Let's move everything over from our old one!"

Carl was slightly impressed. He hadn't expected Luffy to be smart enough to think about that.

This captain is getting more and more qualified.

As Carl looked around, his gaze landed on Jango, still unconscious on the deck.

This guy has a bounty… might as well tie him up.

Carl found some rope and secured Jango. Despite his weak strength, Jango had left quite an impression on him.

After all, Jango was One Piece's version of Michael Jackson—moonwalking, dancing, and all.

Even after being defeated, he later showed up again, got caught by Hina, and ended up as a Marine Seaman Recruit. He was basically comic relief the entire time.

In One Piece, most villains disappeared after their defeat. The fact that Jango stuck around and remained memorable was pretty rare.

Carl smirked. "Captain, this guy can dance. How about we keep him around until we buy our new ship? He can put on a show at the banquet. Plus, he's worth 9 million Berry—we can cash him in along the way."

At the mention of money, Nami was the first to react.

"Mr. Carl is absolutely right! We're taking Jango with us! And the Cat Brothers too—that's 16 million Berries in total!"

Luffy just shrugged. "Oh, in that case, grab them all!"

Hearing this mid-fight, the Cat Brothers were absolutely furious.

But their moment of distraction cost them—Zoro saw an opening.

"Demon Slash!"

With two precise strikes, he sent both Cat Brothers crashing to the ground, knocking them out and ending the battle.

Zoro sheathed his swords. "Getting distracted during battle is a death sentence."

But before he could bask in his victory—

SMACK!

Nami punched him square on the head.

With her fangs bared, she yelled, "Quit showing off and start moving stuff! Luffy finished his fight ages ago! You're the slowest one here!"

Zoro clutched his head, veins popping as he gritted his teeth in frustration.

The group quickly transferred their belongings to the new ship, securely tying up Jango and the Cat Brothers. As for the remaining pirates, they were left behind with their broken ship to fend for themselves.

With everything settled, they set sail toward Syrup Village.

Syrup Village

At that moment, Usopp was standing on the coast, boasting to his three little followers—Carrot, Onion, and Pepper.

He was in the middle of another exaggerated tale when he suddenly spotted a pirate ship approaching.

Panic immediately set in.

But upon closer inspection, he realized that only four people stood on the deck. His confidence returned, and he quickly led the Usopp Pirates into an ambush on the shore.

As soon as Luffy and the others stepped onto land—

Biu! Biu! Biu!

Small projectiles landed at their feet.

At the same time, a row of skull flags was hoisted high on the shore.

Then, stepping forward with an arrogant posture was a dark-skinned boy with curly hair and a long nose, wearing a plaid bandana.

With a dramatic laugh, he declared:

"Hahahaha! I am Usopp, the great pirate of Syrup Village! People praise me and call me 'our captain, Captain Usopp'! If you intend to attack this village, I advise you to give up! My 80 million subordinates will not let you go!"

His bold words might have sounded intimidating—especially to a simple-minded guy like Luffy.

But Carl suddenly chuckled.

"Luffy, look at that long nose… you think it's real?"

Luffy blinked in confusion. "Can a nose even be fake?"

Carl smirked. "Maybe. The nostrils used for breathing are at the base of the nose, so it doesn't really make sense for the tip to be that long, does it?"

Luffy's eyes widened. "Oh! That actually makes sense, Mr. Carl!"

Even Zoro and Nami found themselves unconsciously staring at Usopp's nose, suddenly wondering about its legitimacy.

And just like that—Usopp's dramatic entrance lost all impact.

A bead of sweat rolled down his forehead. They're not even paying attention to my bluff?!

Still, he tried to recover.

"Hmph! I'll say this one last time! If you don't leave immediately, I will show no mercy!"

To reinforce his words, he signaled toward the grass, where the skull flags started moving, making it seem like a huge crew was hiding in ambush.

Unfortunately, the trick was far too obvious.

"There are only three of them," Nami said, unimpressed.

"AH! We've been found out!!!"

Carrot, Onion, and Pepper immediately dropped the flags and ran for their lives, completely shattering Usopp's act.
