One Piece - Heaven Defying Comprehension!

Chapter 196: Chapter 195: Nami’s Efforts (5)

"Ace, I'm getting closer to you," Nami thought to herself.

Ace's lips curved into a smile as he looked at the sweet expression on Nami's face. This girl, the very first he had met after setting sail, was unlike the others. She didn't follow him blindly like Kaya, nor did she try to charm him like Vivi. Yet, Nami had always been the one closest to him.

Nami possessed an unmatched natural talent for sensing and manipulating weather patterns, making her the best in her field in this era. Even before acquiring the Thunder Fruit, she could already unleash powerful lightning attacks using her Clima-Tact. But after obtaining the Thunder Fruit, her weather manipulation skills reached their fullest potential, amplified by Ace's Realm of Comprehension.

When it came to Devil Fruit abilities, Nami's control over the Thunder Fruit could easily be considered the strongest in history.

Yet despite all this, Nami wasn't satisfied.

She knew that no matter how powerful a Devil Fruit's abilities were, there was always an upper limit. Most Devil Fruit users—aside from Ace, whose Mera-Mera Fruit was evolving toward the power of the sun—would never surpass the peak combat power of the sea. The strongest they could hope to become was on par with the Four Emperors. But that wasn't enough for Nami.

For the Entei Pirates, merely reaching the sea's pinnacle of power wasn't their goal—they aimed to take on the greatest power in the world, the World Government itself!

During the Flame Emperor Incident, Nami realized the limits of her abilities. Without a sufficiently strong Haki, she had been forced to take on an auxiliary role in battle. Although the Thunder Fruit gave her incredible speed and destructive capabilities, she still wasn't able to land a fatal blow on Kizaru.

In that battle, Nami had only been able to paralyze Kizaru long enough for Rayleigh's Conqueror's Haki-infused slash to land. While her contribution had been critical, Nami wasn't content.

Later, when Marine Fleet Admiral Sengoku entered the fray, his tactical genius further exposed the limitations of Nami and Vivi's Logia abilities. He had effectively countered them, creating a situation where Haki became the deciding factor in close combat. It was only due to Ace's Fire Ten Trillion Death Burial Formation, which summoned the souls of Crocodile, Enel, and Onigumo from the afterlife, that the Marines' Haki users were intercepted in time.

Ace's words echoed in her mind: "Only Haki can rise above all."

Determined to improve, Nami arrived on Amazon Lily, intent on mastering Haki. She wanted to become Ace's strongest ally, not just the second-in-command of the Entei Pirates. In terms of combat power, she was still the weakest among the three top fighters under Ace—Rayleigh and Issho were leagues ahead of her.

This realization fueled Nami's drive even more. She didn't just want to be the woman closest to Ace—she wanted to be his most powerful supporter, clearing away any obstacles on his path to becoming the king of the world.

Yet, at times, when she gazed up at the stars in solitude, Nami felt a tinge of frustration.

She had already pushed the power of the Thunder Fruit to its absolute limit. No matter how much she trained her Armament Haki, she knew her maximum combat power would likely only reach the level of someone like Aokiji. While her Thunder Fruit was a tier stronger than Aokiji's Ice Fruit and perhaps even superior to Akainu's Lava-Lava Fruit, she still had her limits.

After all, she was only human. As a young woman, her physical endurance could never match that of monstrous figures like Aokiji or Akainu, who combined the powers of Devil Fruits, Haki, and martial arts to become warriors capable of taking on the Four Emperors head-on.

When it comes to her martial arts skills, Nami's ability can be described as practically "nonexistent" in a duel between top experts. Aokiji, who inherited the legendary iron fist from Marine Hero Garp, stands in a completely different league.

Ace had always guided Nami's fighting style toward utilizing her Thunder Fruit for mid- to long-range attacks. Thanks to the lightning-fast speed of her powers and the amplification of her Observation Haki, Nami was nearly invincible in these types of attacks. However, when it came to facing the sea's peak combat powers, such as the Four Emperors, it still wasn't enough.

Her lack of close-combat skills remained her Achilles' heel. If one of the Four Emperors were willing to take a few hits from her Thunder Fruit, they could still break through her defenses. Her Haki wasn't strong enough to deal fatal damage to opponents of their caliber, only managing to exhaust some of their Haki and physical stamina in the process.

This frustrated Nami. The battles Ace would face in the future would likely involve even stronger opponents than the Four Emperors. If she couldn't rise to the level of peak combat power in the sea—akin to that of the Four Emperors—she feared she would fall further behind in future battles, distancing herself from Ace.

But now, things had changed.

She had awakened the king's potential—Conqueror's Haki. Not only that, but she had mastered the most powerful force in the sea, the Conqueror's Haki itself.

With this newfound strength, her combat power would soon surpass that of Aokiji, allowing her to stand alongside the sea's strongest fighters at the Four Emperors' level. She could finally close the gap between herself and Ace and, more importantly, be a true help to him.

Nami gazed at Ace, her smile growing sweeter, her heart swelling with joy. She felt an immense happiness, one that radiated from deep within her soul.

"Silly girl," Ace said softly, pulling her into his arms and gently patting her head. "You've always been the one closest to me."

The depth of Nami's happiness was palpable, something only those with powerful Observation Haki could fully grasp. It was a joy that came straight from the heart, touching the soul. Just being near such emotion made everything else seem trivial, wiping away any lingering worries and leaving only a smile in its wake.

Ace could feel Nami's elation, and his eyes softened with affection. Even Hancock, standing nearby, was swept up by the emotions, her red lips curving into a gentle smile.

Nojiko, observing from a distance, couldn't help but feel a pang in her chest as she watched her sister. She knew better than anyone how hard Nami had worked to be an even greater support for Ace.

Nami's physical strength had always been her weak point, and every night, after charting their course and preparing the next day's plans, she would secretly train with Kaya. With Kaya's medical expertise and healing fruit abilities, Nami could push her body to its limits in grueling training sessions.

The process was brutal.

There was only one way to improve her physique—by destroying it. Nami would push her muscles and skin to the breaking point, allowing them to regenerate stronger each time. She continuously strained her internal organs, forcing them to adapt to higher levels of combat intensity, while fortifying them with nutrients from the Sea Kings.

Thanks to Kaya's healing abilities, Nami never bore any scars or suffered injuries that couldn't be healed. But the pain? That never disappeared. Nami endured every bit of it.

Despite her immense efforts, Nojiko could still see traces of frustration in Nami's eyes. There were limits that Nami knew, deep down, she might never overcome.

Now, everything had changed.

Nami, having mastered Conqueror's Haki - Entanglement, was destined to become one of the strongest individuals in the sea.

"Nami, I'm so proud of you," Nojiko whispered, her eyes brimming with tears as her lips curved into a warm, genuine smile.

But Nami, nestled in Ace's arms, looked up with a determined glint in her eyes. "That's not enough. I want to be even closer to you. I'm your destined navigator."

Taking in Ace's familiar scent, her eyes closed in contentment. His presence brought her an indescribable sense of peace.

"Not just my destined navigator," Ace murmured, gently stroking her head.

"Hm?" Nami raised her face to meet his gaze.

"You'll be the strongest by my side, too," Ace said softly, pinching her cheek affectionately, his eyes filled with pride.

Nami's potential had skyrocketed the moment she awakened Conqueror's Haki. Her future combat power was now reaching heights that even Ace couldn't predict.

"Conqueror's Haki is nothing to take lightly, and with two of us wielding it, the impact is bound to be overwhelming," Ace remarked, knowing full well that Nami's talent with Haki was second to none.

In time, she would undoubtedly rise to be among the three strongest figures in the entire ocean.

Ace then turned to Hancock, a playful smile on his lips. "Let's go, Hancock. We should ease the tension outside and help your sisters overcome their fears."

Ace's gaze softened as he looked at Nami, who nodded in quiet concentration.

Nami's face lit up with a radiant smile at Ace's words, her joy shining through. Ace, amused by the look of pride on her face, extended his hand toward Hancock and grinned.

"She's adorable when she's like this," Ace thought, chuckling to himself.

There was still work to be done—Nami needed to further hone her Conqueror's Haki—but for now, the warmth of the moment lingered.

However, the peace didn't last long, as noises from outside the Nine Snake City palace broke the silence. Ace smiled to himself, knowing the commotion was likely caused by the sheer force of Nami's awakened Conqueror Haki.

This girl had awakened Conqueror's Haki and could now stand as an even greater pillar of strength by his side. The joy that filled him was immeasurable.

For her to not only awaken, but immediately master Conqueror's Haki - Entanglement... Not even the Four Emperors had shown such raw talent.

Ace smiled. He had no doubt about Nami's future.

As the noise outside grew, Nami withdrew from Ace's embrace. Activating her Observation Haki, she surveyed the scene and smiled knowingly.

"Seems like Conqueror's Haki caused quite a stir out there," she said, her voice light with amusement.
