Chapter 217: Chapter 215: Hunting Completed! The Super Big Shot Appears!

"Go ahead, Issho-san, and begin the collection of their Devil Fruit powers," Kuzan instructed, standing before the frozen forms of the Donquixote family members.

Unlike his captain, Kuzan didn't possess the terrifying ability to hunt Devil Fruits. That formidable power belonged only to one person—their captain, Ace.

Before this mission, Ace had handed Issho a special talisman for the collection.

"Understood," Issho nodded, preparing to fulfill his role.

With that, Kuzan turned his gaze to the frozen statues, a deadly chill beginning to emanate from his body as half of it transformed into ice. His breath was visible, misting in the air from the intense cold. With each exhale, a frigid blast enveloped the already frozen figures, deepening their frost to a lethal degree.

Though his Frozen Fruit abilities didn't carry the same immediate destructive power as the Mera-Mera Fruit's flames or the Lava-Lava Fruit's intense heat, they had their own deadly efficiency. The limits of his ice matched the cold of nature's harshest glaciers, making it possible to freeze his enemies to the point of no return. To quicken the death of these formidable foes, Kuzan targeted their hearts directly, intensifying the chill until even their heartbeats were silenced.

In the case of Devil Fruit hunting, the host's death was essential to transfer their powers, allowing the devil factor within to fully release. Ace, himself, had learned this during his confrontation with Moria, temporarily stopping Moria's life force to claim his Shadow-Shadow Fruit ability before restoring him with the power of the Underworld Fruit.

At last, as the freezing air did its work, Kuzan confirmed the demise of Doflamingo and the others. Every heartbeat had ceased, every cell was beyond recovery.

"It's time, Issho-san," he announced calmly.

Observing this from the side, Viola swallowed hard, a mixture of fear and wonder glinting in her eyes.

Issho stepped forward, extending a hand toward the lifeless bodies. At his gesture, a cluster of fruits appeared on the ground, ready to receive the devil factors. Slowly, he retrieved the talisman bag that Ace had entrusted to him, carefully opening it.

"Let the hunt begin," Issho murmured.

A flicker of white light escaped the talisman bag, darting toward Doflamingo and the other fallen Devil Fruit users of the Donquixote family, preparing to capture and transfer their powers.

With a quiet "Buzz! Bang!" sound, Doflamingo and the bodies of the Donquixote family cadres became engulfed in a soft, white glow. Each sphere of light was "bounced" out, as if repelled from within.

Kuzan's eyes widened in awe. "These are the complete devil factors of Devil Fruits."

He marveled at the scene, realizing the terrifying potential in Ace's unique mastery and the enhanced power of the Paw-Paw Fruit. Issho shared his amazement, letting out a sigh. The light orbs hovering before them were demonic factors—an essential part of the Paw-Paw Fruit's ability—made even more potent by Ace's realm of comprehension and amplified through the talisman bag.

Under normal circumstances, the Paw-Paw Fruit's abilities wouldn't be able to extract devil factors from a body so completely. But within the talisman bag, Ace's concentrated "Realm of Comprehension" allowed Issho and Kuzan to push beyond the fruit's inherent limits, forcing out the demonic factors only once the host was fully deceased.

The talisman's power was not, however, a direct transfer of Ace's strength. Rather, it acted more as a carefully programmed extension of his abilities, set to activate upon certain conditions. Ace had tailored this "Realm of Comprehension" for his companions. The charms he had given the women of his crew protected them personally, while the talisman bag in Issho's hands could only function for the purpose of capturing devil factors.

Only Ace himself could truly wield the full power of his Realm of Comprehension, but through these talismans, he enabled others to assist in hunting Devil Fruits. By embedding a portion of the Paw-Paw Fruit's powers into the talisman, Ace had created a method for his crew to expel demonic factors from the bodies of fallen enemies, completing the Devil Fruit hunt without needing his direct involvement.

Ace's ability to command from afar only reinforced his elevated status, allowing him to delegate missions to his top lieutenants without diminishing his role as a power above the Four Emperors. The Paw-Paw Fruit, often thought to be less destructive, had proven to be an extraordinary tool in Ace's strategic hands.

The moment the demonic factors were expelled, Issho and Kuzan sprang into action. Without hesitation, they threw the fruits toward the floating spheres of light.

"Om! Guru! Guru!" The fruits absorbed the devil factors on contact, transforming as Viola watched in disbelief. In moments, new Devil Fruits materialized, each unique pattern signaling a rare power.

Kuzan held two of the fruits, a small smile playing at his lips. "The String-String Fruit and the Childlike Fruit—two invaluable prizes." He noted the power in the String-String Fruit, which allowed its user to conjure steel-sharp threads capable of devastating attacks. Combined with Haki, its offensive capabilities were deadly. The ability to control others through Parasite Strings, and even the final technique, the Birdcage—a power destructive enough to obliterate an entire country—made the String-String Fruit an essential acquisition.

With Ace's foresight, the Entei Pirates now held yet another advantage, one that would further solidify their influence over the seas.

Though it doesn't reach the level of top-tier Devil Fruits like the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, the String-String Fruit certainly holds its place among the elite of the Paramecia class. Once fully awakened, this powerful Devil Fruit has the potential to grant emperor deputy-level combat ability, making it an ideal training tool for key members of the Sixth Division and the Devil Fruit Corps.

The other treasure, the Childlike Fruit, boasts abilities of a distinctly "bug-like" level. With a mere touch, its user can transform people into toys, erasing their existence from others' memories and removing any trace of them from the world. Such a formidable power was something Ace couldn't afford to overlook.

"The String-String Fruit and the Childlike Fruit—these are the prized Devil Fruits Ace has his eye on," Kuzan noted, picking up the other fruits one by one. "The others, while not at the same level, can still be useful."

"Sticky Fruit, Swim Fruit, Art Fruit, Riple Fruit, Stone Fruit, Bomb Fruit, Spin-Spin Fruit, Ton-Ton Fruit…" he listed, casting a discerning gaze over the Donquixote family's collection. Each one had its unique qualities, yet only the String-String Fruit stood out as a notable enhancement to combat prowess.

The strengths of Devil Fruits vary significantly. Even with awakening, fruits with limited innate power cannot match the potency of top-tier abilities.

"However, even lesser Devil Fruits are still valuable to the Entei Pirates, the strongest fleet in history, and the undisputed champions of this era," Kuzan reflected. Devil Fruits remain the "secret treasures of the sea," and for those who master them alongside Haki and martial arts, these abilities offer distinct advantages over those who possess no Devil Fruit power.

"Although," Issho interjected with a hint of regret, "it's a shame that the Snow-Snow Fruit and the Gas-Gas Fruit users aren't here in Dressrosa."

While the Snow-Snow Fruit is a lesser version of Kuzan's Ice-Ice Fruit, and the combat boost from the Gas-Gas Fruit is average, Issho knew that the Logia class stands apart from all others. With its inherent properties, the Logia class consistently boasts the highest minimum potential of any Devil Fruits, offering abilities that often exceed even the best of the other classes.

The combined power of two Logia Devil Fruits, when enhanced by Ace's "Realm of Comprehension" to elevate Haki, could result in two emperor-level deputies upon full awakening. However, to achieve even greater combat strength, the limitations of the Snow-Snow Fruit and Gas Fruit would require a highly developed Haki from their users, as their innate capacities are somewhat capped.

Still, two additional Logia users would be a significant boost to the Sixth Division's combat strength. Issho, whose sole ambition is to see Ace rise as the king of the world, couldn't hide his disappointment at missing the chance to secure these two Logia powers.

"There will be other opportunities to hunt for Devil Fruit powers in the future," Kuzan reminded him, adding, "We've accomplished our mission by obtaining the String-String Fruit and the Childlike Fruit."

"True," Issho replied with a nod. "Next, we'll destroy the smile factory and deal with any remaining remnants of the Donquixote family."

While the Donquixote family's elite cadres were eliminated, Dressrosa still harbored a scattering of loyalists. And now that Dressrosa had formally allied with the Entei Pirates, Issho and Kuzan knew they were responsible for handling any remaining adversaries and closing out the operation cleanly.

"Let's inform the captain," Kuzan suggested, retrieving a Den Den Mushi.

The snail emitted a familiar ring before clicking as the line connected.

"Kuzan, Issho—mission accomplished?" a familiar voice chuckled through the receiver.

"Mission accomplished, Captain," Kuzan confirmed with a smile. "We've secured the String-String Fruit and the Childlike Fruit. The Donquixote family's leadership has been neutralized, and Dressrosa has pledged itself to the Entei Pirates. We'll now proceed to eradicate the remaining Donquixote family operatives and dismantle the Issho factory."

As Ace's light-hearted chuckle sounded over the line, Viola—standing nearby—felt her entire body tense.

"Flame Emperor!" Viola whispered, her pupils constricting in recognition.

"Excellent work, and efficient as always. I take it that's Viola there with you?" Ace's voice asked, his warm laughter sending a tremor through Viola's frame.
