Chapter 197: Chapter 197
After the lengthy discussion about names, Luffy leaned back, expressing his "deep sympathy" for his crewmates and offering a comically serious critique of the nicknames others had suggested.
"So, have you thought of any good names for me?" he asked brightly, ignoring the side comments and glances around the room.
On the other end of the line, Zoro's irritated sigh echoed through the Den Den Mushi. "Bastard, you didn't listen to a single word I just said, did you?"
But despite his annoyance, Zoro, after a long pause, relented. "Fine, but this is the last time. Don't come to me for help with names again."
Luffy, sensing the concentration on the other end, went quiet, holding the Den Den Mushi and waiting patiently. After a thoughtful silence, Zoro clapped his hands, his voice brimming with inspiration.
"Got it! Thunder can be white and perfect for a symbol of justice and the destruction of evil. " He paused dramatically. "And, based on the Marine's usual style of using animals, I think White Eagle, or 'Shirowashi,' would be perfect."
"Shirowashi? Why an eagle?" Luffy asked, intrigued.
"Because our ship can fly, you idiot," Zoro replied, his tone half-amused, half-exasperated.
Luffy blinked, considering it. After a moment, he nodded, grinning with satisfaction. "You know what? That makes sense. Shiro-Washi it is!"
The decision made, Luffy felt a new wave of admiration for Zoro's unique naming ability. "Thanks, Master Zoro! You're a genius. I'll come to you again if I need help with naming."
"Hey, we agreed this was the last time!" Zoro snapped, but before he could protest further, Luffy had already hung up, leaving Zoro shouting in frustrated disbelief into a dead line.
Back in the office, Luffy turned to the group, proudly announcing the new name. "Alright, folks, I've got it! Shirowashi. Zoro really nailed it!"
The girls broke into an animated discussion over the choice, nodding in agreement and expressing admiration. Kujaku chuckled, folding her arms. "It's gotta be Zoro. Genius, indeed! I'll report it to headquarters and request they use it in official reports."
Hina added thoughtfully, "The color white suits you well, Luffy—it's a part of your fighting style, and it's the color associated with justice in the Marines. And you do look best in a white suit."
Kujaku raised her hand, grinning. "Count me in for asking Zoro for names in the future!"
One by one, the rest of the girls chimed in, with even Hancock and Ain nodding enthusiastically at the prospect of getting Zoro's help for future names. Garp, seated quietly to the side, couldn't help but chuckle to himself. This young swordsman, with remarkable talent, had somehow become everyone's go-to "naming expert." If only Zephyr could see this, Garp thought with amusement, he'd probably berate Luffy for misusing such talent.
But before Garp could voice his thoughts, a sharp knock sounded on the office door, causing everyone to fall silent.
Luffy, sensing something with his Observation Haki, raised an eyebrow. "Huh…? Something's up."
"Come in," Garp called out, his voice carrying a note of curiosity. The door swung open to reveal Kibin, standing at attention with an official air.
"Vice Admiral Garp," Kibin reported, "Admirals Aokiji and Kizaru are about to arrive at the G-2 branch. They request that you come down to greet them."
Garp raised an eyebrow, pointing a thumb at himself in mock disbelief. "Me? You must be kidding. Do young people not have legs these days? Why do I need to go greet them?" He waved his hand dismissively. "Let them come up if they want to see me."
Caesar's mouth opened as he tried to protest, glancing around the room in confusion. "But, Vice Admiral Garp, those are Admirals, and according to protocol—"
"Protocol, shmrotocol," Garp interrupted, brushing off the formality. "Rules are more talk than anything. No need to follow 'em too seriously."
Before Kibin could argue, another voice interrupted from behind him.
"Well, rules are just suggestions, really." The lazy, familiar voice belonged to none other than Admiral Aokiji, who strolled into the room, his hands tucked into his coat pockets. Caesar whirled around in surprise; the admiral's ship hadn't even docked yet!
"A-Admiral Aokiji! How did you—?"
Aokiji gave him a lazy pat on the shoulder, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Relax, Kibin. Garp wasn't about to walk down to the docks, so I came up myself." He stepped past him and into the room, offering a relaxed nod to the rest of the crew.
Following closely behind, Kizaru—or Borsalino—ambled in with his usual unhurried gait, his hands tucked casually into his pockets as he surveyed the room with half-lidded eyes. "Ah, I heard Luffy-san's team recently recruited some charming warriors from Kuja Island. Thought I'd come see for myself," he said, his gaze lazily drifting over to the group.
Kibin blinked, speechless, while Garp let out a snort, crossing his arms. "About time you two showed up," he said gruffly, though his smirk betrayed his amusement.
Luffy waved enthusiastically from his place on the sofa. "Uncle Kuzan! Uncle Borsalino! You guys got here fast!"
