Chapter 49: Chapter 49

Hina, already awake nearby, watched the events unfold with disbelief.

"How can this be? Admiral Kizaru lost to him?" she whispered, unable to believe her eyes.

Smoker, standing next to her, was also in shock. Sal's behavior was completely unexpected. Remembering the opponent's strength, he simply clutched his still aching chest and tried to persuade his friend.

"Hina, seeking revenge on August D. Sal is unwise. You should surrender as soon as possible. You're no match for him."

The friend's please didn't break Hinata's stubbornness. She gritted her teeth and firmly replied:

"Hina will not surrender. Sooner or later, Hina will send him to Impel Down."

The situation on the battlefield was changing rapidly. When Kizaru, who had been thrown aside, was about to attack Sal again, Marco appeared before him. The blue flames and chaos of a floral weapon attack momentarily distracted the Admiral.

And Sal, not facing any resistance from Kizaru, didn't advance further because standing before him was a majestically beautiful woman in a purple sleeveless cheongsam, looking at him tenderly.

It was Boa Hancock, the Pirate Queen, known as the "Most Beautiful Woman in the World".

Everyone thought that Sal, with no one to obstruct him, would rush to the execution platform and clash with the hero Garp or Sengoku. But unexpectedly, his path was blocked by one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.

— Could it be that the Pirate Empress wants to fight August D. Sal?

— Impossible. While I admit that the Seven Warlords are very strong, even Admiral Kizaru is no match for them, let alone one of the Seven Warlords.

— Or maybe it's about seduction?

— Get lost; don't talk to me like you know me.

— Damn, I'm a marine, and you're a pirate, to hell with what we know! Die!

— Ah... How dare you sneak into my private garden, die!

All around, conversations and skirmishes erupted again, but Hancock only whispered one word to Sal. Her gaze and posture resembled that of a loving wife eagerly waiting for her husband's return.

— I will wait for your return.

Sal, worried about causing problems for Amazon lily, silently mouthed words.

— I will find you.

These four silent movements of his lips turned into three words "I love you" in Hancock's eyes. The sudden rush of joy made her collapse on the serpent throne.

To onlookers, it seemed as though she had been defeated, but it was unclear how the most beautiful woman in the world could lose, as no battle had taken place.

— Is this a rigged game?

— I think they're having an affair.

— Disappear, Empress is my goddess, don't you dare slander her.

— A dog that licks another dog won't die well.

Initially drunk with sweetness, Hancock saw the incessant chattering around her, which greatly disturbed her relationship with Sal. A grimace appeared on her beautiful face.

— "Perfumed Strikes"!

Her violet dress swirled and fluttered, and Hancock, like a gust of violet charm, turned everyone around into stone statues. Neither the Marines nor the pirates escaped this fate. One commodore, having lost an arm to save his own life, shouted:

— Boa Hancock, Queen of Nine Snakes, why did you attack the Marines too? Aren't you afraid that they will take revenge on you later?

Hancock tilted her head back, her ample chest pointing toward the sky, with one hand on her waist and the other pointing at the Marines, making a statement that left even Sal speechless.

— No matter what I do, the whole world will forgive me. If you want to know why... Yes... Because I am very beautiful.

Many of the remaining people were stunned, their eyes turned into hearts, defending the enchantress.

— We forgive you...

— You, you... Bang!

Sal scratched his chin. He still couldn't comprehend Hancock's logic. He could only say that to her favorites she was as warm as spring, but to strangers, she was like a summer typhoon, making people unpredictable.

Now was not the time for chatter. Sal looked toward the execution platform. Sengoku was staring at him grimly, and Garp's face held a complex expression. He didn't know how to feel about Roger.

Rayleigh, standing nearby, remained composed. If he rushed toward the execution platform alone, he would likely be beaten by those two old men. Thinking this over, Sal glanced discontentedly at where Whitebeard stood.

"Come on, Newgate, it's high time to make a decision, what are you waiting for? Let me help you decide."

The peak of conquerorsHaki burst out explosively, heading straight for the massive ship.

Whitebeard's eyes twitched slightly, and he took a step that surprised Sal. Whitebeard took the initiative to help Squard block the impact of the conquerors Haki, which allowed Squard to thrust his long sword into Whitebeard's chest.

Sal's face immediately twisted slightly. Whitebeard was still the same Whitebeard: he never doubted his children until the very last moment. Even if his children made mistakes, he, as a father, would forgive them and set things right.

"Newgate, why are you doing this?"

Whitebeard's actions already told Sal about his choice. He would no longer interfere in the affairs of Whitebeard and his children. Of course, Ace was different. Remembering how Ace always called Whitebeard "Dad," Sal felt some irritation again. Whitebeard was unexpectedly killed by his own pirates, leaving the entire battlefield in confusion. The level of surprise surpassed even Kizaru's defeat by Sal.

Only Akainu, having just returned to the battlefield, rarely lifted the corners of his mouth, while Sengoku, who was directing the battle, felt some relief in his heart only now. Whitebeard was injured, and finally, the naval fleet could turn the situation around.

This time, the strategy to incite Whitebeard's assassination was Sengoku's plan. Akainu personally instigated the rebellion. All efforts were aimed at weakening the power of the strongest man in the world.

Beyond the battle, all the spectators watching the live broadcast were stunned. Even civilians in distant regions had heard over the years of Whitebeard's exploits and his title as "the strongest man in the world."

How ironic that a man who loved his family was killed by his own son. Some people who had been favored by Whitebeard expressed dissatisfaction on their faces and didn't dare to continue watching the scenes of father-son strife.

After the sword was thrust into Whitebeard, Marco didn't care about Kizaru's confusing attack and flew straight to the nose of the "Moby Dick," pinning Squard to the deck and angrily asking:

"Squad, why did you betray your father?"

Squard didn't know how to answer at that moment. He made the decision when he entered the battle, but Whitebeard had just appeared out of nowhere and blocked the conquerors Haki attack for him. This made him feel desperate. In the end, he closed his eyes and painfully revealed the reason.

— You forced me to do all this. This war happened because of you... A conspiracy between Whitebeard and the naval fleet. Because Ace is the son of Pirate King Roger, Whitebeard already made a deal with the naval fleet. In this war, Whitebeard's pirates and Ace would remain safe, while only our allied pirate groups would be destroyed.

— The war is unfolding exactly as Akainu said. The peacemakers in the naval fleet aren't attacking the headquarters at all, they're only attacking us, the allied pirates. Since you're not kind, don't blame me for being unrighteous. Akainu promised me that as soon as I kill you, we, the allied pirates, would be able to escape from this battlefield.
