Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Two Possibilities!

Asa plunged into the White Sea, using the water's pressure to train his body. He pushed himself relentlessly, day and night, never allowing a moment of rest.

Though his strength had grown considerably, Asa was not one to grow complacent.

In the world of pirates, relying solely on Devil Fruit powers was a recipe for disaster. A strong body and extraordinary physical endurance were crucial to unlocking the full potential of any fruit's abilities. Most fruits required a significant amount of stamina for extended use, and the stronger the body, the quicker the abilities could develop.

Take Luffy, for instance—after consuming the Gum-Gum Fruit, he could immediately stretch his body, but his lack of control caused him to harm himself. In contrast, Sabo, after eating the Flame-Flame Fruit, was able to summon flames and launch attacks with precision almost instantly.

Thus, Asa understood that physical fitness was the foundation for mastering and enhancing most fruit abilities.

Climbing out of the sea, Asa shook the water from his body, dressed, and began his daily breakfast.

After a year of scouring every corner of Birka, Asa had to admit that the Thunder Fruit might not be on the island.

As he ate, Asa delved into his memories of Enel's life:

After destroying Birka, Enel had led a group of men to capture Upper Yard, expelled the previous god Gan Fall, and declared himself the new god. He then forced the construction of the Ark Maxim to reach the "infinite land," which was, in truth, the moon. These events occurred in the year 1514 of the Sea Calendar.

The Ark Maxim's design plans were undoubtedly taken from Birka. But before destroying the island, Enel must have acquired the Thunder Fruit, the source of his "god-like" power. The question was: how?

Enel, without the Thunder Fruit, was a physically weak and poorly trained individual. Despite his latent Observation Haki, he could barely fend off attacks and was often beaten by the villagers. What gave him the strength to destroy Birka and challenge the gods of Upper Yard?

The conclusion was clear: Enel must have obtained the Thunder Fruit before his rampage across Birka and his assault on Upper Yard.

However, if the fruit wasn't on Birka, where could it be?

Asa reasoned that the Thunder Fruit could have arrived on Sky Island by two means:

Brought by the rising sea currents: The Devil Fruits, as treasures of the ocean, could randomly appear anywhere in the world. The possibility of the Thunder Fruit being carried up to Sky Island by the powerful knock-up stream was plausible. Introduced by outsiders: The few examples of Devil Fruits on Sky Island, such as Gan Fall's Pegasus Fruit and Enel's Thunder Fruit, supported the theory that Sky Island did not naturally produce these fruits.

These possibilities sent Asa's thoughts racing. If the fruit had indeed arrived via the sea currents, it could be anywhere in the vast expanse of the White Sea surrounding Sky Island.

After further analysis, Asa considered a more focused possibility:

Enel, bullied by the villagers, might have built a crude boat and attempted to leave Birka. Although the village had lost regular contact with Angel Island, its location was well-known to all. The Thunder Fruit could lie somewhere between Birka and Angel Island.

Alternatively, Enel might have violated the laws of Birka by attempting to access the Ark Maxim's design plans. Such an offense could have given the villagers a reason to execute him, as they had long harbored animosity toward him.

Sky Island's method of execution, Yun Fuliu, involved placing the condemned on a floating cloud stream and leaving them to drift aimlessly. If Enel had been subjected to Yun Fuliu and survived, he might have stumbled upon the Thunder Fruit during his ordeal.

Determined to investigate these possibilities, Asa decided to start with the location where Yun Fuliu executions were carried out. If that led nowhere, he would search the path from Birka to Angel Island.

After resolving his plan, Asa wasted no time. Dressed and prepared, he set off toward the village.

Spotting an old villager carrying a fishing net, Asa approached him, pushing his damp hair back and flashing a forced smile.

"Excuse me, old man, could you tell me where Yun Fuliu executions are conducted on Birka? I'm curious..."

The villager ignored him, mumbling under his breath as he walked away, "A wingless monster asking about Yun Fuliu? Maybe you'd like to try it yourself, fool."

Asa's smile froze, and his eyes gleamed coldly. His sharp Observation Haki picked up every word.

"As expected, only strength can make these people take me seriously," Asa muttered.

Without hesitation, he turned, grabbed the old man by the back of his neck, and lifted him off the ground as if he weighed nothing.

"Not willing to talk? I have plenty of ways to change your mind," Asa sneered, his tone icy.

The villager struggled and cursed, but Asa slapped him across the face, silencing him instantly. Fear filled the old man's eyes as he met Asa's cold, ruthless gaze.

Carrying the man back to the beach, Asa threw him onto the island cloud and demanded, "Tell me where Yun Fuliu executions are carried out!"
