Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Training and Fruit Development

As Asa directed controlled currents through his body, he could feel himself growing stronger with each passing moment. Instead of draining his energy, the process left him invigorated, as though he could shatter mountains with a single punch.

After a hearty meal to refuel his body, Asa couldn't help but marvel at his appetite.

"A strong body and a powerful Devil Fruit come with steep energy demands," he mused. "It wouldn't surprise me if one day I could devour a mountain and still feel hungry."

Reflecting on the abundant high-energy food available in the Pirate world, he reassured himself. "Worst case, I'll just buy Neptune-class seafood with some Baileys."

Nestled deep within the forest, far from prying eyes, Asa had built a modest wooden house near the White Sea. This secluded spot had become both his home and his training ground.

A Grueling Routine

Next to the wooden house, Asa balanced a large wooden stake on his back, supporting himself on a wooden platform using only his thumbs.

"One thousand nine hundred ninety-eight... one thousand nine hundred ninety-nine... two thousand!"

Sweat poured from his body, glistening over his chiseled muscles as though he had taken a dip in the sea. Yet Asa showed no signs of stopping.

His training was relentless. Each session pushed him to the brink, but he embraced the challenge, knowing it was the key to mastering his growing strength.

Over the past year, Asa had achieved incredible progress. The black bear Bleibel, once a daunting opponent, would now fall to him in less than two punches. His confidence soared, but he remained grounded in his ambitions.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, Asa looked toward Angel Island and made a bold decision.

"In one month, I'll capture Upper Yard, the Island of Gods. I'll make them construct the ark 'Thor' for me."

His ambition was clear: to become the freest person on the sea, unshackled by any rules. For this, strength was non-negotiable.

A Strategic Routine

Asa divided his days into three distinct parts:

Morning: Physical training to maintain control over his surging power. Afternoon: Developing the Thunder Fruit's abilities. Night: Using electric currents to strengthen his body further, even while he slept.

This rigorous schedule ensured that he progressed rapidly, both in physical prowess and mastery of his Devil Fruit.

Developing the Thunder Fruit

After completing his morning training and preparing lunch, Asa transformed into a bolt of lightning and flew far from Birka. He needed space to develop the fruit's destructive power without risking the island's safety.

Suspended in the clouds, Asa began channeling the raw power of his Thunder Fruit.

"Zzzzzttt!"

Electric arcs crackled around his body, distorting the air with their intensity. Thunder roared as he directed the energy outward, shaping it into a new technique.

"Ten Million Volts: Thunderbird!"

Lightning condensed into the form of a massive bird, its sharp cry echoing across the White Sea. The creature spread its wings, slicing through clouds with the precision of a blade.

"Go!" Asa commanded.

The Thunderbird streaked toward the sea below, its impact creating an explosion of water and mist. The sheer destructive power was far greater than his earlier thunderball experiments.

Asa surveyed the aftermath, his Observation Haki revealing a massive hole in the island cloud beneath him.

"How could Enel develop such a godly power and still lose to Luffy?" Asa wondered. The question gnawed at him, but he knew the answer wouldn't come for over twenty years, when Luffy began his journey.

Asa refined the Thunderbird technique further. By deliberately allowing irregular currents to flow along its wings, he enhanced its cutting ability, making it an even more devastating weapon.

Expanding His Arsenal

Asa's mastery of the Thunder Fruit extended beyond sheer destruction. By amplifying his Observation Haki with radio waves, he achieved a range of five kilometers, allowing him to summon lightning strikes with pinpoint accuracy.

"The Thunder Fruit is nearly flawless," Asa mused. "It's unmatched in destruction, speed, and detection. I bet on the right fruit."

He knew his journey was just beginning. While he couldn't yet wield 200 million volts like Enel, he was confident that he would not only reach but surpass that level in time.

With Enel's techniques as a starting point, Asa planned to innovate further, drawing from his knowledge of modern technology to create unique and devastating moves.
