As the words fell, all the bones on the spiked arm suddenly swelled, blooming like beautiful flowers, yet accompanied by a chilling Killing Intent.

The sharp bones tore through the chest cavity, spilling a pool of crimson, completely trapping Rowen.

An overwhelming power surged throughout Teach's body, turning his bones into hands and feet, as he tightly gripped Rowen, not allowing him to escape.

"Jihahahaha!"

He laughed maniacally, the Dark-Dark Fruit activating continuously, forming a carpet of darkness beneath their feet that devoured everything.

Seeing this, Rowen slightly frowned.

"So that's your plan: to drag me into the dark space created by the Dark-Dark Fruit and lock me away completely."

This technique was called "Dark Cavern," which released darkness over a large area to the ground, sucking in and compressing anything or anyone touched by it, effectively smashing them.

It was equivalent to a small black hole with a very wide range.

It was a powerful ability involving the manipulation of "space"!

In the original story, Blackbeard could actively "release" the dark space, crushing what was inside and throwing it out, but...

What if he didn't "release" it?

What if he got swallowed up by it himself?

This ability was essentially a natural prison!

It was the kind where even the exit was blocked!

"This is a bit troublesome…"

Rowen was uncertain if a person trapped in the dark space could escape after the Ability user died, but he was sure Blackbeard knew.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have bided his time, playing tricks to create an opportunity to capture him.

Everything Teach had done before was to set up for this move!

As long as he controlled his fruit abilities, he had an absolute advantage in terms of pure power, and the Sacrifice-Sacrifice Fruit ensured he wouldn't be killed quickly, giving him ample time to activate his skills.

"So you really intend to use darkness to devour everything, Blackbeard."

With that, Rowen was almost certainly going to be consumed by the darkness; even if he didn't necessarily die, the outcome would be no different from death.

In the distance, countless Marines gasped in horror at the sight.

They were well aware of Rowen's strength, but Teach's deadly resolve was even more terrifying!

At this moment, the black curtain beneath their feet continued to expand, radiating an aura that made people shudder.

The dark color enveloped a large portion of the Headquarters square, causing anything above it to slowly disappear into the darkness as if sinking into quicksand.

Two soldiers accidentally fell prey to the darkness; initially, only one of their feet had been caught, yet they couldn't struggle free.

Endless darkness surged over them, dragging them into the abyss, their piercing screams echoing as they were gradually swallowed.

At this moment, there was no time to question why Teach could use two fruit abilities; escaping that patch of darkness was the top priority!

"Everyone, retreat to the port!"

With a resounding crash, the execution platform collapsed, sinking into the black waters. Sengoku used Geppo to step on the air, loudly ordering.

Boom… Kā Chā!!

The enormous Headquarters fortress emitted a mournful wail as a part of the magnificent structure, torn apart by Whitebeard, suddenly cracked open.

Darkness surged like a tide from beneath the ground, tearing tons of walls and rocks from the fortress.

It was evident that if allowed to spread indefinitely, everything on the surface of Marine Headquarters would be consumed by darkness.

"Rowen!"

Amidst the chaos, Ain shouted anxiously.

It was easy to imagine what would happen if Teach used this as a finishing move; being sucked into the darkness would likely spell doom for Rowen, even with his Undying regeneration ability.

At that moment, she immediately gathered pink flames in her palm and shot them at Teach.

Boom!

But the glowing orb didn't travel far; once it entered the range of the dark carpet, it quickly faded away like a burnt-out lightbulb.

The falling powdery energy residue sank down, instantly consumed by the darkness.

The Dark-Dark Fruit required zero-distance contact to nullify other Ability users' powers, but dissipating attacks derived from those users didn't require that much trouble.

Within the coverage range of the Dark Cavern, every patch of darkness acted as a weakened version of dark water, easily absorbing energy completely.

...

Meanwhile, on Sabaody Archipelago, pirates who noticed everything were fixated on the screen.

Was Marine Soryu (Azure Dragon) going to be defeated?

Could that monster, who brought them endless pressure and fear, really perish together with Blackbeard?!

"Marshall D. Teach!" "Captain" Kid clenched his fists, staring intensely at the screen: "If you can really do it then every pirate in the world will sing your praises!"

It was obvious that Teach had unwavering confidence in the dark space.

Moreover, this meant he would also be sinking into darkness himself.

It completely eliminated the possibility of anyone defeating him from the outside, causing his fruit abilities to fail.

The outcome of being used by Teach as a finishing move and sinking into darkness was all too predictable.

Yet he still chose to do it, with the same goal he had just mentioned: to send Soryu (Azure Dragon) on his way!

If successful, both of them would disappear from the world, completely lost in darkness!

With Whitebeard now fallen, if they could take out Soryu (Azure Dragon), it would hold significance for the pirates that was not any less than when Roger opened the era of pirates!

...

"Fleet Admiral, is the Super Electromagnetic Cannon charged?"

Aokiji, unable to pursue the remnants of Whitebeard, flashed to Sengoku's side, frowning.

Every move has a process from initiation to effect; their fruit abilities were suppressed, preventing them from getting close to Blackbeard. However, the shooting speed of the Super Electromagnetic Cannon was undeniable, and they had to give it a try.

But...

"Trust him, Aokiji."

Sengoku shook his head, and under Aokiji's shocked gaze, he said, "Haven't you noticed that Rowen hasn't shown even a hint of fear?"

"What?"

Aokiji turned back to look closely.

Sure enough, even though the darkness had swallowed up everything below Rowen's knees, his eyes remained calm and unflinching.

He was still serene, as if... he was watching a joke unfold, looking at Teach.

"Is he insane?!"

Aokiji asked incredulously.

Rowen was indeed an Undying monster, and his regeneration gave him enough confidence to not take ordinary damage seriously.

But this time, Teach's goal wasn't to kill him; he aimed to trap him in an unknown dark space!

Sengoku didn't answer because he himself wasn't sure.

...

"Is this your awakening?"

"And do you really intend to do this even knowing you might disappear yourself?"

In the heart of the darkness, Rowen looked at himself slowly being submerged and suddenly asked.

"Exactly!"

Teach's face contorted with a savage expression, infused with a wicked intent: "Isn't it a simple principle, Soryu (Azure Dragon)?"

"You shattered the dream I pursued for half my life, so get ready to welcome my revenge!"

The dream still existed in Teach's heart.

It had merely shifted from world domination to exacting revenge on Rowen.

"Can you feel it? This power that devours everything! Jihahahaha!"

Staring with his one remaining crimson eye, Teach laughed maniacally: "In the darkness of the Dark-Dark Fruit, there is no time, no space, no sound, and no light!"

"Let's disappear from this world together, Soryu (Azure Dragon)!"

If it were possible, Teach wouldn't have wanted to perish alongside Rowen.

But no matter how he calculated, he found it was impossible to avoid that fate.

Unmatched speed, the ability to overcome Undying traits, a cunning character even more treacherous than his own, and a keen and sharp combat awareness...

All of these combined left him with no opportunity; he wanted to submerge Rowen as easily as devouring lifeless objects.

After numerous calculations, Teach concluded that the only way was to nullify Rowen's fruit ability at zero distance, and then overpower him with his superior strength to plunge into darkness together.

Mutual destruction!

Death?

He didn't really care about that anymore.

As long as he could achieve his revenge, what did it matter if he was reduced to ashes?!

And now, that moment had arrived!

"But, you know, even for an Ability user, the part sinking into darkness can't move, can it?"

Suddenly, Rowen asked, his tone impatient as he shifted his body slightly.

"I just tried it and found that it felt as if my feet had disappeared, completely without sensation."

"Hmm?!"

Teach felt a jolt of surprise, sharply sensing that something was amiss.

Yet no matter how he thought about it, he couldn't fathom how Rowen would have any chance of turning the tables in such a situation.

The darkness had already swallowed him halfway, and he too had lost feeling in half of his body.

Wasn't it too late to resist now?

"What do you mean?!"

The spiked bones surged again, locking Rowen even more securely onto his arm, Teach demanded loudly.

"Calm down... No matter how loud you shout, it won't change the fact that you're a fool."

Rowen smirked and said, "I thought you would surprise me, but it turns out to be this brainless plan."

"You…"

Suddenly, Teach felt his body go limp, all his strength vanishing in an instant.

"You are truly… hopelessly stupid, Blackbeard!"

Clang!

With the thunderous roar of his Dragon Crescent-sided Halberd raised high, Rowen swung it back in a horizontal slash, tearing a gory wound across Teach's chest and sending him flying.
