Chapter 611: 491: Dao Path, All Things Return to One!_2
"I've got it!" Su Heng roared low, his gaze suddenly sharpening.
Dark red tentacles waved, stretching out from the giant ring behind him.
They resembled deep-sea octopuses hunting for prey.
Each tentacle was hundreds of thousands of meters long and tens of kilometers wide, and they were still extending outwards until they could break through the atmosphere and reach outer space.
To the naked eye, these colossal gravitational tentacles seemed illusory.
But the power they contained was unimaginable.
When they touched the towering mountains on the distant ground, those majestic peaks instantly vanished, leaving behind flat, huge indentations in the remaining mountain.
The Revenge Goddess was over twenty kilometers in length, its appearance was like layers of enlarged rhombuses, currently accelerating forward.
This warship was the pinnacle of Demon Descendant civilization, sailing through the star river with an elegant posture, like a glittering sailfish.
But now, it was being hunted.
As the gravitational tentacles continued to extend, the distance between the two was rapidly closing.
...
...
...
Time moved forward slightly, inside the Revenge Goddess.
In the silver-white bridge hall filled with a sci-fi style, the atmosphere was also somewhat tense.
Algres, not seen for a long time, wore a black military uniform with a cross-star-shaped badge on his shoulder, surrounded by fully armed Demon Descendant Warriors, their faces stern and their bodies exuding an air of solemnity.
"Convey my command, move forward four, leave from within the gravitational well range of the home planet," Algres ordered the captain of the Revenge Goddess.
The captain was shocked, his eyes widening, "How can this be possible! Our King is still down there, and those brave warriors haven't returned yet, how can we just leave and abandon them."
"Idiot, that is the command given by the King!" Algres recalled the conversation he had with Ryan in the forest that day. The outside rain poured down, the sky was gloomy, but inside the small oak cabin, there was the warmth of a fire, and the closet was shining with bottles of various colors. Such a beautiful atmosphere, as if everything was in a dream.
But he had to wake up from it and face the grim reality.
Only those who have faced that monster's power personally can understand what true despair is.
This war, from the start, their side had no chance of victory. The "Day of the End," the "Twilight of the Gods," all were things to stabilize people's hearts. Hatred sustained the Demon Descendants to wander for thousands of years and still be able to regroup. As for how to continue the survival of this tribe with a disastrous fate, he did not yet know.
However, the first thing to do at the moment, was to leave this battlefield.
Algres collected his scattered thoughts.
Facing him was the captain's furious roar, his eyes bloodshot, he suddenly rose from his throne, ignoring the stern presence of Algres and lashed out, "I understand now, you monster who betrays beliefs, betrays the Dynasty, betrays our race, you want to take this opportunity to take control of the ark to become the new King of Demon Descendants! I won't let—bang!"
Algres reached out a finger and fired a shot of Condensation-infused Power.
The captain's head exploded on the spot.
Red and white brain matter splattered in the air, some of which splashed onto Algres's face.
He was expressionless, lightly licking the corner of his mouth with his tongue, the taste slightly astringent. Algres turned around, the deputy captain was already brought before him by the Demon Descendant Warriors. He was forced to bow forward, his face showing panic, and as he saw the headless corpse of the captain in a pool of blood, his legs trembled uncontrollably.
"Do you know the control commands for the Revenge Goddess?" Algres asked.
"I, I know!" The First Officer nodded frantically in terror.
"Good... Now, you are the new captain of this Ark." Algres said, "Follow the coordinates I gave you and move forward at full speed."
"Understood!" The First Officer's face revealed an unmistakable surge of thrilled surprise as he took the captain's seat under the escort of two Samurais.
The Revenge Goddess was massive, but not overly complex to operate.
As several commands were input into the control hub, the bar indicating power rose to its peak. The floor vibrated slightly as streams of energy coursed through the immense restraint system to the engine core. The Revenge Goddess surged forward at full speed into the pitch-black night, while Algres turned to look through the porthole at the shrinking aqua-blue planet that was his home...
Boom!
He had no time for sorrow before a massive tremor hit.
The tremor came suddenly and was so violent that even the battle-hardened Demon Descendant Warriors stumbled. The overhead luminescent lamps fizzled, warning alarms for malfunctions sounded, and streams of crimson runes projected from the bright photon screens onto the faces of the astonished crew on the bridge.
"What's happening!?" Algres bolted up, seizing the First Officer by the neck.
Without any explanation, he slammed him violently onto the control panel. His face twisted ferociously, coupled with the not-yet-dried blood at the corners of his mouth, he resembled a wild beast ready to devour its prey.
The oppressive aura of a Realm Lord Realm powerhouse was immensely intense.
The First Officer was scared out of his wits, with an unknown liquid dripping down his trouser leg.
"I, I don't know, it's not my fault!" The First Officer raised his hands, his face a portrait of sheer terror and desperation, not feigned.
Bang!
Algres flung him aside.
He had some fundamental knowledge of the Ark's operations and now took control himself.
His twenty fingers flew over the controls, and very soon Algres extracted the information he needed following a series of commands.
With a screen projection opening up in front of him, the information captured by the bird's-eye array was drawn out. It showed an outline of the Revenge Goddess outlined in blue lines, racing through the void at full speed. But there was something extra not belonging to the ship itself, outlined by dark red curves that resembled living, gigantic tentacles.
A subordinate officer, stunned by such a scene, said, "It looks exactly like a giant squid hunting whales in the deep sea."
"This is neither the deep sea nor are there any whales here," Algres said coldly, "Moreover, since the Revenge Goddess is twenty kilometers long, consider how enormous this creature must be according to your analogy."
The officer clammed up, unable to speak.
Though he said that, Algres' face looked extraordinarily grim.
He turned to look through a suspending window, seeing swathes of blue-violet light ionizing, glaring and dazzling. That was the Revenge Goddess' Void Shield, now running at full power. This high-efficiency shield could draw strength from the everlasting sky, transferring any damage received. It could even withstand the direct impact of a small asteroid, and yet now it was wailing under stress, as some incomprehensible tremendous force was tearing at the body of the battleship.
Algres could hear the racing heartbeats of the crew, like war drums, while a strong smell of pheromonal lipid filled the air, a special hormone secreted by the Demon Descendants when in fear. They were like trapped in a sinking cabin, and outside was a dark stormy ocean with towering waves.
As a clanging noise resounded, some of the pipes responsible for transporting energy broke in the violent shaking.
Sparks flew haphazardly on the ground, and the luminescent lamps flashed intensely.
"Look there, what is that!" Someone's sanity was finally shattered by terror, and they screamed loudly, attempting to escape in panic, only to be stopped a few steps away as Algres burst their head with a flick of his finger. He calmly turned his gaze away, and although he was prepared, when he really saw that thing...
Algres's heart violently twitched. His eyes widened almost on the verge of screaming out!
Crimson bodies lying everywhere, blasphemous runes climbing the walls, and substantial currents of chaos... In the tangible darkness, a figure with disheveled hair over the shoulders and a sinister smile on its face slowly stepped forward, treading on the flowing blood covering the floor.
This person was none other than Su Heng!
"Long time no see, Algres!"
