Location: Gotham, in a warehouse
POV: MC
"Hey, you, come over here," I said to the boss of this gang. Without saying anything, he approached me.
"Yes, sir."
"How much money do you think you can give me without Black Mask noticing?"
"Sir, of the $450,000, I can give you $50,000 without Black Mask finding out. The Joker recently broke out of Arkham Asylum, and Batman wasn't able to catch us during our robbery or drug dealing. The other freaks were also dealing with the other people who escaped. So, this money is the money that Black Mask doesn't expect us to make. Perfect. Transfer the money to my bank account."
"No, wait. Transfer it to your own account. I don't want to be traced by Batman or Black Mask just yet."
"Sir, if you don't want to be traced, this is better than getting all the money in cash."
"Oh, yeah. This works too."
"Well, who said I was the smartest person?" I said. "Okay, do it."
"Yes, sir."
He immediately ran toward one of the boxes, opened it, and put some money in a bag that was lying around the warehouse. After that, he handed the bag to me.
"Here, sir, this is the money you asked for."
"Good. Now I'll be gone. You guys just continue what you were doing before I got here. I'll contact you when I need you."
"Yes, sir." ×52
After that, I put the bag on my shoulder and walked out of the warehouse. From the memory of them, there are no cameras around here, which is good. I don't want to deal with that. Maybe next time it's better to cover my face. I was just kind of too excited to think straight right now.
After that, I left, walking home mostly using the alleyways because I didn't want any cameras capturing me. On the way to my home, I thought to myself: The mind control aspect of my power is one of the best because the people don't become emotionless puppets. They still have all their previous personalities, but they are genetically engraved with loyalty toward me. This is very useful. Nobody even knows they've been mind-controlled. I mean, I don't really call it mind control because this is completely unbreakable. It's more like a complete rewriting of their whole being, like they've always been loyal to me, which is pretty good. No stupid bullshit, no willpower can break my control, which is for the best.
10 minutes later...
I reached my home, closed the door behind me, and went to my room. I put the bag down and sat on my bed.
"So, what do I do now? I really want to get out of Gotham because, to be honest, for my power set, being here is a complete waste. There are almost no people with superpowers here that I can copy. The only ones I can think of are... Bane, Poison Ivy, and Man-Bat. Out of those three, only Poison Ivy's power is useful to me. But where do I go? I need to find a place with a lot of people with superpowers, and where I can easily infiltrate..."
Hoo... ohhh... mmm... A place with a lot of people with power... The X-Mansion. The X-Men. Hell yeah, the fucking X-Men. Where the most overpowered people are together. Hell yeah, it's time to get going.
I immediately stood up to pack all my clothes and other stuff, but I froze. Wait, wait... am I immune to telepathy?
Mmmm... Haaa... Heh... I have zero idea. Resistance? Maybe. Immunity? I don't think so. But there has to be a way because, come on, the X-Men are some of the most OP people ever to exist. If I can get all the powers of the team, I'll be OP as shit. But I can't really go there if I have to worry about getting mind-raped every single second...
I have to find a way to get immunity to telepathy. Let me think about it. What is telepathy? Telepathy is the power to read minds, manipulate minds, and anything mind-related. But for the power to work on someone, they have to have a brain. Most people can't do anything about it, but for me... well, I can just delete my mind. Not in a way that I become a mindless beast or emotionless puppet—no, I just literally delete my brain. And by extension, my brainwaves. That way, no telepath will be able to access my mind, no matter how strong their will is. Unless, of course, it's the Phoenix Force, against which I can't do anything about.
Anyway, how am I going to do this? Simple. I just have to completely deactivate my brainwaves. Every living being has brainwaves, except for undead or something similar. But I'm going to be a little different. I'm just going to completely delete my brainwaves. If this happened to a normal person, they'd die at worst, or at best, become a vegetable for the rest of their life. But I'm different. My perfect control over my own body means that even if I'm just one atom, I'm fully capable of thinking at my full capacity. And not just for myself, but anyone infected with the virus will be the same—at least if I will it.
But before that, I have to do something to get the attention of Professor X. How do I do that? Oh, yeah. The guy in the alleyway who awakened a mutant power...
I reach into the hive mind. The guy's standing guard in the warehouse right now, and the others have gone to send the other stuff to Black Mask. But it's not important right now. I reach into his DNA and copy it. After that, I go to his brain and memorize his brainwaves, which is a special brainwave only mutants can have. After that, I open my eyes. I was back in my room—well, I was always in my room. It's just that a part of my mind was in the body of that guy.
Anyway, it's time to study the X-Gene. First, I stripped the X-Gene of any power and turned it into a blank X-Gene. After that, I integrated it into my body, which immediately tried to release a pulse. I didn't let it. I have to study more. From what I figured out from the pulse, people won't be able to guess my mutant type or ability because my mutant gene is a blank X-Gene. After that, I studied the brainwave that was released when I integrated the gene. It was also a blank brainwave, which was perfect because nobody could figure anything out from just that, besides my location and the general idea that I'm a mutant. After that, I strengthened the pulse as much as I could and released it outward.
Third-person POV:
X-Mansion
Professor Charles Xavier, the leader of the X-Men and the peace-loving mutant, was going about his day like any other. He was teaching the mutant children about everything they needed to know, mostly about how to control their abilities.
"Okay, children. That's it for today. You can go to your next class."
"Thank you, Professor!"
"Thank you!"
"Goodbye, Professor."
"Goodbye, children."
Okay, it's time to go to the next class. But then, a huge brainwave washed over the world—a powerful mutant awakening. His face immediately became serious. The location was from Gotham City, a city with one of the largest populations in the country. If the mutant loses control, there will be a lot of casualties.
He immediately linked to all of the X-Men and said,
"To me, my X-Men..."
