Chapter 469: OverlordWorld-in-Hand, The Smell of Fireworks

Avis flew at a high speed, and within half a day, they entered the Endless Desert.

"Wait, hold on a moment," John said, his expression changing. He sensed two familiar, powerful auras rushing towards them from a distance—Nine Phoenix and Chaos.

Avis also noticed the two powerful auras and shuddered in fear.

His cultivation had barely reached the eight-star level. An Emperor-tier powerhouse could easily wipe him out with a mere wave of their hand.

"John!" Nine Phoenix's voice echoed, and two figures flashed in front of him in an instant.

"Kid, congratulations," Chaos said, sensing the power of laws gathering around John, his aura strong. It was clear that John had already broken through to the nine-star level.

It had only been twenty days.

John's speed in cultivation was astonishing. He had originally thought it would take about a month to barely break through to nine stars.

But this was a good thing for them.

John bowed to the two, then asked, "Seniors, are we heading out now?"

Nine Phoenix nodded. "We were planning to come over and take a look. Now that you've broken through to nine stars, we can head out for the Overlord World."

The OverlordWorld-in-Hand couldn't be entered via teleportation. It was far away, located in the extreme north in a land of harsh cold. Even an Emperor-tier powerhouse would take three days to reach it.

John had no objections and said, "Let's go back to my territory first, gather Heavenly King and the others, and then we'll set off."

With a thought, the power of laws in space surged, and in the blink of an eye, they appeared in the oasis.

At that moment, a grand city rose from the ground, nearly enveloping the entire oasis.

This was the work of Sini and the others.

During this time, they had not been in closed-door cultivation. Instead, they had exchanged a large number of resources to rebuild the city.

The city's name was simple—Godslayer City.

John didn't mind it; he allowed them to do as they pleased.

Sensing their auras, the people inside the city quickly came out to greet them.

Heavenly King was also there. He had exited seclusion a few days ago, and his cultivation was still at the early stage of a one-star Emperor. While he hadn't advanced, his foundation had been solidified.

"Brother John, congratulations on reaching nine stars," he said, noticing the change in John's cultivation, his face beaming with joy.

"Alright, no need for pleasantries," Nine Phoenix interrupted, speaking up. "Gather the people who will be participating in the Heavenly Stele insight. We'll leave immediately."

The group quickly assembled.

Sword Demon had also successfully broken through to nine stars, and he was among them.

There were thirteen people in total. Apart from Forest King Great Bear and Sword Demon, the other eleven were all Heavenly King's subordinates.

Most of them were at the early to mid-stage of nine stars.

John was surprised by Heavenly King's influence. He hadn't actively sought to develop his own power, but these powerful individuals had all voluntarily joined him, drawn by his perfect integration with the World-in-Hand ability.

The entire Realm of Chaos seemed to have only three people who had perfectly integrated with World-in-Hand: John, Heavenly King, and that Overlord.

"Let's set off," Nine Phoenix said as soon as everyone had gathered.

John nodded and with a thought, drew World-in-Hand back into his body.

The surrounding spatial energy rippled, and the Endless Desert vanished without a trace.

This time, the insight into the Heaven God Stele might offer a way to escape this Realm of Chaos. The Endless Desert was a part of his World-in-Hand, so naturally, he couldn't leave it behind.

Heavenly King also withdrew his own World-in-Hand.

The group then set off, speeding northward.

As they drew closer to Overlord World-in-Hand, the temperature around them continued to plummet.

Even nine-star powerhouses were beginning to struggle.

Fortunately, John's abilities were unique. He had cultivated several types of the power of laws, and some of them had already been converted into the Heaven Laws. He could still withstand this extreme cold.

"It's right ahead," Nine Phoenix said, her body aglow with flames. Ahead, clouds and mist rose into the air, the mist gathering into a pale, almost ethereal haze. In the distance, a towering mountain range could be faintly seen, stretching high into the clouds.

John frowned. "Is this Overlord's World-in-Hand?"

The place was desolate and inhospitable, the environment harsh. Even nine-star powerhouses couldn't endure the conditions here. It seemed completely unfit for survival.

Nine Phoenix shook her head. "No, this is just the entrance to Overlord's World-in-Hand."

The group soon arrived at the foot of the snow-capped mountains.

Nine Phoenix and Chaos exchanged a glance, each taking out a token. Powerful energy surged around them.

"Open!" they shouted in unison. The ground trembled, and a loud rumble echoed through the air. To everyone's surprise, the massive snow mountain slowly parted in the middle, revealing a spatial passage.

Overlord's World-in-Hand didn't appear immediately. Instead, there was a separate space, isolated from the Realm of Chaos.

"Be careful. There are spatial turbulence attacks in the passage," Nine Phoenix warned, as she and Chaos stepped forward into the space portal.

John took a deep breath. The powerful spatial turbulence surged around him, but he followed them in.

Crack!

The spatial passage stretched deep into the unknown. Strong spatial turbulence raged within, and lightning strikes lashed out intermittently.

The power of these lightning strikes was not as potent as a lightning tribulation, but it was still formidable. Any being below the nine-star level would be unable to withstand such an assault.

Golden light flickered around John as he activated his Immortal Art to shield himself with a protective golden aura, barely managing to block the lightning.

The group quickly navigated through the spatial passage and suddenly found themselves in a vast open space.

The area was full of vitality, with spiritual energy thick in the air, comparable to his World-in-Hand.

But there was something different.

The smell of fireworks!

John's World-in-Hand didn't have such a feeling.

He scanned his surroundings, furrowing his brow in thought.

His World-in-Hand was a separate space, but this… this felt more like a real world.

In the mountains and forests, the sounds of birds, beasts, and insects filled the air, teeming with life. Not far off, cities stood tall, with people constantly coming and going. Their cultivation levels weren't very high, and there were even some ordinary humans among them.

These were the residents of this place.

When they saw John and the others, they showed no surprise or fear. Occasionally, they passed by the group, simply nodding as a greeting before continuing with their work.

What shocked John the most, however, was the sight of the Star Dust in the sky.

This was no longer just a World-in-Hand, but a star domain.

John turned to Nine Phoenix and Chaos, asking, "Seniors, is the Star Dust in the sky real?"

If everything here was real, it was truly terrifying.

"It's not real," Nine Phoenix said, glancing at the Star Dust in the sky. "It's just energy condensed into that form."

Energy condensed into Star Dust?

John was a bit confused. Was it really possible for mere human power to create something like this?

Chaos looked up at the Star Dust, his expression filled with longing, and said, "Although it's just condensed energy, if you were to surpass the nine-star level and reach the Overseer stage, you could truly create Star Dust. It's a pity that the time is too short. If you and Heavenly King could stay here and gain some insight, it would greatly enhance your World-in-Hand."

Heavenly King's World-in-Hand had already been completely repaired by John and could continue to improve, no longer limited by any constraints.

Both of them were tempted. As perfect integrators of World-in-Hand, they were more sensitive to the power of it.

Whoosh...

Just then, a gentle breeze swept through, and a dignified voice echoed across the land: "Emperor-level powerhouses have arrived. Gather at the Leisure City immediately."

It was Overlord!

John looked at Nine Phoenix and the others and said, "You go ahead. I'll wander around here for a bit."

Overlord's World-in-Hand didn't have many restrictions, but no one dared to cause trouble here.

Nine Phoenix looked at him and replied, "You're part of it too. It's permitted by Lord Overlord."

"Me?" John was taken aback, confused.

He had just broken through to nine stars. While he could now fight against an early-stage Emperor, his cultivation was still far inferior to that of an Emperor-level powerhouse.

He didn't understand why Overlord would allow him to attend this meeting.

"Let's go." Nine Phoenix and the others didn't elaborate further.

To them, even though John hadn't reached the Emperor level, his perfect integration with World-in-Hand gave him a status that was not inferior to that of an Emperor-level powerhouse.

The group flew toward a distant city.

Figures continued to fly by them, and they were all Emperor-level powerhouses.

There were at least a dozen of them, and their auras far surpassed those of Nine Phoenix and the others.

John knew that there were some secluded Emperor-level powerhouses in the Realm of Chaos, but he didn't expect there to be so many.

The group entered the city and arrived at a simple, unadorned hall.

Inside, a dozen or so Emperor-level powerhouses had already gathered, their auras immense.

Among the gathered group were two familiar faces: Demon Emperor and Void Emperor.

The two of them quickly noticed John and furrowed their brows, not understanding why this human would be here.

Demon Emperor's expression darkened as he stepped forward and coldly said, "Kid, do you think you deserve to stand here?"

The other people in the hall also turned their attention to John, looking on with curiosity. They couldn't understand why a mere nine-star cultivator would appear in such a place.

Nine Phoenix spoke indifferently, "This is granted by Lord Overlord. Do you have a problem with that, Demon Emperor?"

Her tone was filled with provocation.

"Granted by Lord Overlord?" Demon Emperor was surprised and confused. However, he didn't dare defy Overlord's will.

He shot a cold glare at John, then stepped aside, no longer speaking.

The other Emperor-level powerhouses didn't pay much attention either, quietly waiting in the hall.

There were twenty-three people in the hall, and aside from John, all were Emperor-level powerhouses.

John curiously observed them, and one woman caught his attention.

The woman's beauty was breathtaking, but her aura was cold and aloof, her face like a frost. She sat quietly to the side, and no one dared approach her.

Among all the people here, she was the only one seated.

Merciless Emperor!

John quickly guessed the woman's identity. Merciless Emperor, an early-stage two-star Emperor powerhouse, was the second most powerful person here, after Overlord.

At that moment, an old man with a weathered appearance walked into the hall.

Everyone hurriedly bowed and greeted him respectfully, "Lord Overlord."

Merciless Emperor also stood and nodded slightly.

John observed the old man with curiosity. He resembled the phantom he had seen in Celestial Vault Dark City, but there was no energy fluctuation around him. He felt no aura at all, as if he were an ordinary person.

Overlord nodded and sat at the head of the table.

Everyone else followed suit and took their seats.

John and Nine Phoenix's group sat at the back. They were the weakest among these Emperor-level powerhouses.

Overlord gave John a deliberate glance before speaking slowly, "Now that everyone is here, I'll make this brief. The arrival of the Heaven God Stele is a scheme by the Church of Light, aiming to wipe us all out in one sweep."
