Chapter 190: Red Palace Purple Emperor Butterfly
As Wu Hen stepped into the white miasma, a graceful figure emerged in his mind.
It wasn't a human, but an elegant, porcelain-pure female mantis.
The Jade Lady Mantis was very cunning, and after the Silver Winged Mantis was killed, it immediately burrowed back into the depths of the white wormhole.
Somehow, Wu Hen felt that the Jade Lady Mantis was no less formidable than the tyrant tiger armor, and that truly killing it would be no easy task.
Within the miasma, Wu Hen could still hear the alien larvae crawling; they reigned supreme over the mountain, like a small-scale factory, breeding incessantly.
After witnessing the situation inside the white miasma, Wu Hen also fell into deep thought.
Chief Li and Shen Wenhai believed that since the white wormhole could not be eradicated, it should be used as a human trial mountain. A defensive fortress would be built in this urban area, and from then on, the combat with the Insect Race would mainly be a standoff, with humans strong enough for Heavenly Light taking turns holding the fort.
But having witnessed the "factory" inside Insect Mountain, Wu Hen couldn't help but suspect that this was also what the Alien Insect Race had in mind.
They had established a "transfer point" here and, when in need of fresh meat, would send out some Insect Soldiers to attack human camps, sustaining the war with the spoils of battle...
After all, the number of larvae in the mountains was actually more than he had imagined, and the fact that they hadn't surged out to take over Lun Mountain City en masse indicated a firm intention to fight a protracted war, preparing for battles that could be replenished.
This thought terrified Wu Hen; they were not merely frightening insects but an otherworldly civilization knowledgeable in strategy. They even had a close season, not putting too much pressure on humans, to let them grow stronger.
"The big boss here must be the Jade Lady Mantis."
"This Jade Lady Mantis is too cunning."
Wu Hen continued walking deeper.
Thinking of how the people of Lun Mountain City were gradually becoming accustomed to the Insect Race's presence, Wu Hen couldn't help but shake his head in resignation.
Bringing back a few pictures from inside, the people of Lun Mountain City would no longer see this as a premium leveling spot.
Wu Hen also knew that he couldn't handle the situation with the Wormhole White Mountain right now, so he cleared his mind of all the messy concerns and continued towards the wormhole.
The wormhole was located in a gorge within the mountain.
Wearing specially made fighting clothes, Wu Hen was not attacked by any of the alien larvae. He even encountered a Silver Winged Mantis, which surprisingly showed no hostility towards him.
"Shen Wenhai said that these fighting clothes were made with the biological fluid of the Jade Lady Mantis. They've altered their perception, and now they seem to regard me as one of their own."
There certainly are talented individuals among humans. If it weren't for Shen Wenhai's breakthroughs, Wu Hen wouldn't have been able to pass through here with such ease.
Red Port and Insect Island must already be embroiled in a fierce battle by now!
Actually, this kind of sneaking feeling is quite thrilling.
Wu Hen reached the gorge.
Suddenly, a seductive figure appeared in the stream, its slender arms sprinkling the water upon itself; droplets slid down its sleek skin, sparking wild thoughts in an instant!
"You know that I, Great Wu Hen, am flawless, and the only weakness is my fondness for beauty, right!"
"But how could I possibly fall for the same trick twice!"
"If you want to fight, then let's fight, don't pull off this R-rated stuff!"

Wu Hen took a deep breath and quickly calmed his emotions.
In the Scroll Realm, Chongli Mountain had taught him how to not be bewildered by external things, and the most effective method was to reprimand!
Like when encountering a female fairy in the mountain temple, there was nothing more effective than a stern rebuke – the monk does not buy into such tricks!
Look away from impropriety!
Wu Hen walked proudly along the stream.
No matter how alluring the figure in the stream behaved, Wu Hen paid it no heed.
Wu Hen wasn't certain if that figure was the Jade Lady Mantis, but since the other had not shown any hostility, it indicated that his biological fighting clothes were still effective, making them perceive him as one of their own.
The energy of the fighting clothes was very limited; unless he could collect more from the liquid glands of the Jade Lady Mantis, Wu Hen had to hurry through the wormhole.
He didn't look back.
Not even a glance.
Even though Wu Hen knew it was probably the Jade Lady Mantis...
But this Jade Lady Mantis was too eerie, more terrifying than a fairy.
Wu Hen couldn't be sure if his biological interference was working, he just had to maintain cursing and clarity to do what he needed to do.
Before reaching the wormhole, Wu Hen saw a large amount of white miasma flowing down like water.
He drilled forward, as if he were parting a soft silk curtain.
Inside, it was not pitch-black; in fact, there were many eggs that glimmered with Night Ghost light, some like Luminous Pearls, some like agate, and some like artifacts meticulously crafted by human hands, without any of the disgusting slime normally associated with the Insect Race in film and television.
Wu Hen didn't disturb the peaceful sleep of these insect eggs and continued forward.
As he walked, gravity in the wormhole dissipated, and Wu Hen changed his way of moving, as if he were a diver swimming through a trench.
Swimming along, Wu Hen suddenly felt light ahead.
So he exerted himself and swam towards the light.
The light cascaded down from above, and Wu Hen felt as if he were swimming out of a secluded pool, surrounded by a soft and pure moonlight, yet he couldn't see the moon anywhere — the source of the light did not exist, nor did he understand why his eyes would receive such moonlit brightness.
Raising his arm, Wu Hen looked at his fighting clothes.
There was still liquid oxygen in the fighting clothes, and some of the mantis poison gland jade liquid that could protect him was left.
"Little Yi, can you sniff out where Death Omen Yuan You is?"
Wu Hen didn't know where he was and could only ask Little Yi to lead the way.
Little Yi flew out of Wu Hen's body directly, taking on the form of a black Sword Spirit, and led the way for Wu Hen.
Beneath his feet was a rubbery substance; Wu Hen suspected was Insect Soil made from a mixture of his own secretions such as sweat, saliva, silk, and old shells, which would not be consumed by the Mold Body.
"Whoosh~"
"Slow down."
"Whoosh whoosh~"
"Why do you act like a 200-pound fat kid rushing to a feast? Aren't you a bit too excited?"
Finally emerging from this "cave," Wu Hen felt as if he had stepped onto solid ground.
Below him was silver soil with numerous holes like a lotus root, beneath which was the Red Plane, from time to time Spirit Fish would leap out from the holes...
At the end of the vast soil, there stood a mountain platform.
On the crimson mountain platform, a Red Palace stood majestically!
The air was filled with moonlit particles, like fireflies that emitted a faint glow, yet they were even smaller than dust, invisible bodies with only tiny spots of light perceptible.
These moonlight fireflies formed a brighter source of light than the moon's, making the silvery soil very special, whereas the Red Insect Palace exuded a sense of art incomprehensible to humans. Its structure was neither complicated nor grotesque, but rather a solemn minimalist luxury that instilled an indescribable sense of awe and reverence!
Atop this incredible Red Palace floated a Purple Emperor Butterfly. That butterfly seemed to be the eye of the palace; because of its presence, it became the finishing touch, making the entire palace seem like a living entity, watching over all approaching creatures!
The Purple Emperor Butterfly was Death Omen Yuan You!
