Chapter 7: Why! I want to leave!
Let's be honest real quick. School sucks ass and not In a good way.
Sure you learn a thing or two. Sometimes even something that you have to use later in live. But the majority of it is just useless knowledge that is sitting there waiting to be pulled out of your ass like a particularly big buttplug only to be irrelevant later. This is especially true for us demigods. It's just the most random things we learn that might help dealing with the monsters later on. Like filing your taxes.
Seriously I doubt any of them know how to do that. Also I am fairly certain that if the IRS found out about them they would never willingly leave Tartarus again.
I had to snort at that. Vegetable? Did I look like a coma patient?
Guess I can't call him that. How about Rudely?
And that was beats. This one was in love with music
And that was only snake paying attention to class. I named him...
If you hadn't guessed it. I was currently in class and the most entertaining thing I could do was to talk with them since I had been through school before and knew most of the things already. Most of my snakes could talk and I had named all of them. But most of them didn't want to talk or just rarely did.
As the day progressed I decided to train the one ability I could. Illusion was quite a handy skill. Sure it covered only a small radius around me but that wasn't really a problem. The Illusion skill allowed me to train it in deferent ways.
1. Details: Trying to make the illusion as intricate and believable as possible. This would also eventually become able to imitate sounds, smells and more.
2. Location/Distance: Right now the starting point of the illusion was locked on me. But the more I tried to place it somewhere else the easier and more stable it gets.
3. Radius: By Trying to stretch the radius/size of the illusion the bigger it got.
Right now I could only train the details. So while everyone was writing down what the teacher had written on the headboard I was fiddling with the grimoire I got.
These often contain magical knowledge and such. But this one was empty. Yeah sure, I could connect it to myself and it would not only make spellcasting easier but also faster while also recording every spell I ever used. But the true strength of a grimoire depended on the material used. You could make a grimoire out of a napkin but it would be weaker than one made out of proper paper.
Said Hilda. That was actually a good idea but right now I only had celestial bronze(Also known as CB) and an entire book made out of it would be to heavy to use.
Later after school was finally over I went into the dormitories. And then, inside the room, I tried to change my new form by holding my breath.
It didn't work. I just ended up winded. System! How do I change form? I asked.
[ Host has to call it out. No, you don't have to actually say it but you have to use either it's title or it's designation. The title would be: "Rivers' Child" while the designation is: "First Nightmare".]
Following the instructions of the system I thought "First Nightmare" and black flames traveled up my body. At first it seemed nothing had changed but then I noticed that my skin felt different. I was in Form 1. No wonder I didn't notice anything.
[Yes host?] Why are the snakes shiny?
[It appears the host had a slight bleed over effect. It was going to happen anyway. Scanning...]
[The snakes will be around as long as you are in Form 1 but in Form 2, while still being able to communicate and see, they will no longer be present. For the matter of shining scales. Please look at your forearm.]
[Your scales are just as "shiny" as theirs. The reason for this is the black dragons affinity mixing in with your passive skill: Blacksmith. Your scales are now essentially made out of metal.]
[No but it is possible once the skill of this form carries over to the main body. It would then become a semi-active skill.]
