Percy Jackson: The Silver Wolf of the Goddess of Love

Chapter 13: weapon Mastery.

In that of the training area, Chiron was looking at him, as he looked back at Chrion him.

Hikari just looked at Chiron. "You want me to train with my weapon?".

Chiron just spoke to Hikari in a gental voice. "More or less, I wanna see if you use your weapon with out turning into your wolf worrier"

Hikari looked at him. "Yeah I think the same, when Alecto attack us, I touched the watch and it was only one Gauntlet came out and it was only one"

Chiron looked at him. "And whene you were being chased by the Miniature you spit out spikes and energy barrier using the watch, so I am wondering"

Hikari looked at the silver party if the watch, as he moved it and it moved. "Did that just happened".

Hikari glanced down at the silver part of the watch, his mind racing as he recalled the unexpected powers it had exhibited during the chaotic encounter with Alecto. "I mean, I didn't even know I could do that," he said, looking back at Chiron with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

Chiron nodded, his expression thoughtful. "It seems your watch has more capabilities than you initially realized. That's why training is crucial. I want you to understand your weapon's potential, especially if you face more formidable foes."

Hikari shifted on his feet, excitement bubbling beneath his uncertainty. "So, what do you want me to do? Just... hit things?"

Chiron chuckled softly. "Not quite. I want you to focus on controlling the energy of the watch and your own instincts. The more you understand your weapon, the more proficient you'll become. Let's start with something simple. Try to summon just the gauntlet, not the full exoskeleton."

Hikari took a deep breath, focusing on the watch. He concentrated hard, picturing the gauntlet emerging without the rest of the armor. "Okay... here goes nothing."

He pressed the watch's button and watched as the gauntlet materialized, solid and sleek, wrapping around his hand. The weight felt reassuring, and he could feel a faint hum of energy coursing through it. "I did it!" Hikari exclaimed, a grin spreading across his face.

"Good, now try to control its movements," Chiron instructed. "Just the gauntlet. Show me a few basic strikes."

Hikari nodded, settling into a stance. He swung his arm, feeling the gauntlet's strength amplify his movement. With a determined shout, he aimed a punch at a nearby training dummy. The impact echoed through the training area as the dummy toppled over, and Hikari felt a surge of adrenaline.

"Excellent," Chiron praised. "Now, try to integrate your energy into the strikes. Let it flow through you."

"Energy?" Hikari asked, still catching his breath. "How do I do that?"

"Feel it within yourself," Chiron explained. "Focus on your emotions—your determination, your will. Let it guide you."

Hikari closed his eyes for a moment, centering himself. He thought about his friends, his new life at Camp Half-Blood, and his determination to protect those he cared about. With a deep breath, he reopened his eyes, swinging his fist again, this time visualizing a wave of energy accompanying the punch.

The gauntlet glowed with a faint blue light as Hikari struck, and a shockwave erupted from his fist, sending the training dummy flying across the yard. Hikari's eyes widened in disbelief as he turned to Chiron, who was nodding with approval.

"Good! That's it! You're beginning to grasp the essence of your weapon," Chiron encouraged. "Now, let's see if you can maintain that control while moving."

They spent the next hour working on Hikari's technique, transitioning from strikes to combos, incorporating footwork and agility. Hikari felt the rhythm of his movements, the gauntlet becoming an extension of himself. Each hit felt more powerful, more refined.

"Excellent work, Hikari," Chiron finally said, watching as Hikari caught his breath. "You're making great progress. But remember, mastery requires practice and patience."

Hikari nodded, sweat dripping from his brow but a smile plastered on his face. "Thanks, Chiron. I didn't think I'd be able to do that so quickly."

"You have potential, but you'll need to train regularly," Chiron advised, a glint of seriousness in his eyes. "There may come a time when your skills will be put to the test. The better you are, the safer you and your friends will be."

Hikari then fade a fist as the blade from the knuckle of his Gauntlet came out. Hikari examined the blades extending from the knuckles of his gauntlet, a mix of excitement and awe flooding through him. "I knew I still had spikes and claws, but I didn't expect the blades to be here too!" He flexed his fingers, marveling at how the sharp edges glinted under the training area's lights.

Chiron stepped closer, inspecting the gauntlet with keen interest. "Just as I thought. Your weapon is designed for versatility. Each component has a purpose, and it seems your gauntlet has been equipped for both melee and ranged combat."

Hikari raised an eyebrow. "Ranged combat? How does that work?"

Chiron gestured for Hikari to follow him to a target range set up at the far end of the training area. "Let's find out. See those targets? Try to focus your energy into the blades and see if you can project them as projectiles."

"Project them?" Hikari echoed, a little skeptical. "Is that even possible?"

"Every weapon has its secrets," Chiron replied with a knowing smile. "You just need to tap into your connection with it. Focus your willpower, aim, and let the energy flow through the blades."

Hikari nodded, determination surging within him. He moved to the firing line, positioning himself in front of the targets. Taking a deep breath, he envisioned the energy from his core surging into the blades.

As he concentrated, he could feel a tingling sensation in his fingertips. "Okay, here goes nothing," he muttered, raising his fist toward the nearest target.

With a swift thrust, he unleashed a wave of energy. The blades shot forward like arrows, slicing through the air and embedding themselves into the target with a satisfying thud. Hikari's eyes widened in shock. "I did it!"

Chiron clapped his hands together, impressed. "Well done! You're harnessing the weapon's capabilities. Now try it again, but this time, aim for accuracy. Focus on your breathing and maintain your energy flow."

Hikari wiped a bead of sweat from his brow, excitement bubbling up inside him. He positioned himself again, steadied his breath, and let the energy channel through his body into the gauntlet. This time, he envisioned the energy forming a sharper, more controlled blast.

He released the energy, and another blade shot out, striking the target dead center. "Yes! I'm getting the hang of it!" Hikari cheered, grinning ear to ear.

"Excellent," Chiron praised. "Now, let's work on refining your technique. Can you summon the blades while in motion?"

Hikari considered the challenge, then nodded resolutely. "I'll give it a try!"

He began to jog in place, practicing his footwork while summoning the blades. It took a few tries, but soon he was able to project the blades while moving. Each strike felt more precise, the energy flowing seamlessly from his body through the gauntlet and into the air.

"Good! Now incorporate different movements—lunges, spins, and combinations. Make it fluid!" Chiron encouraged.

Hikari felt the adrenaline pumping through him as he began to experiment. He lunged forward, sending out a series of blades in rapid succession, then spun around to face another target, releasing a single, powerful blade that soared straight and true.

"Wow, this feels amazing!" Hikari exclaimed, the thrill of the training pushing him to go further. He was becoming more than just a child of Aphrodite; he was developing into a formidable fighter.

As the training session came to an end, Hikari was panting but exhilarated. He turned to Chiron, a newfound confidence shining in his eyes. "Thanks, Chiron! I never thought I could do all this. I feel… powerful."

Chiron smiled warmly. "You have the potential to be even greater than you realize. Remember, it's not just about the power you wield, but how you wield it. Keep training, and you'll become a true champion."

Hikari nodded, his determination solidifying. He was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing he had the skills to face them head-on.

Hikari watched as the silver part of the watch shifted back into its compact form, transforming into the wolf mask once more. It enveloped the lower half of his face, adding a fierce edge to his appearance.

"Alright, let's see what this can do," he muttered, a mix of excitement and apprehension bubbling inside him.

He pressed a button on the side of the mask, and to his surprise, the mask split into four segments again. This time, however, he braced himself for the sonic blast. The sound erupted from the mask, a high-pitched wave that sent vibrations through the training area. Hikari felt the force ripple through him, almost making him stumble.

Chiron raised an eyebrow, impressed yet cautious. "That's quite powerful! But remember, you need to control it. Try to focus the blast rather than letting it release uncontrolled."

Hikari nodded, determination igniting within him. "Got it! I'll try to direct it this time."

He took a deep breath, visualizing the energy within him. With a firm grip on the watch, he aimed the mask at a nearby target, concentrating on channeling the sonic energy into a focused blast.

"Here goes!" Hikari shouted, pressing the button once again. This time, he felt a surge of control as he directed the sonic wave. The blast shot out like a compressed wave of air, hitting the target with precision and sending it wobbling slightly.

"Yes! That was better!" Hikari exclaimed, feeling a rush of adrenaline.

Chiron nodded in approval. "Excellent, Hikari. You're starting to understand the nuances of your weapon. But remember, training is all about refining your skills. Let's try a few more variations. Can you combine the sonic blast with your melee strikes?"

Hikari grinned, eager for the challenge. "I'll give it a shot!" He focused on merging the two techniques. He lunged forward, swinging the gauntlet while simultaneously activating the mask to release a sonic blast.

As he moved, he unleashed the sonic wave just as his fist connected with the target, creating a powerful combination that shattered the wooden surface of the target into splinters.

"Whoa! That was amazing!" Hikari couldn't help but feel exhilarated. The rush of power surging through him was unlike anything he had ever experienced.

Chiron clapped his hands together, clearly pleased. "Now that's the spirit! You're developing your own fighting style, combining offense and ranged attacks. Keep it up, and you'll become a force to be reckoned with."

Feeling more confident, Hikari continued experimenting with his weapon, moving fluidly between strikes and sonic blasts. Each attempt brought new discoveries about the gauntlet and mask, as well as about himself.

After several more rounds of training, Hikari finally paused, panting but exhilarated. "I can't believe how much I've learned in just one session. This is incredible!"

Chiron nodded, pride shining in his eyes. "You have a natural affinity for this weapon, Hikari. Just remember that with great power comes great responsibility. Always be mindful of how you use your abilities."

"I will," Hikari promised, his resolve firm. "I want to protect everyone, just like my mom does."

"Good," Chiron replied, patting him on the shoulder. "And don't forget, your training isn't just about power; it's also about strategy and teamwork. You'll be working alongside other demigods soon, and that means learning to collaborate and trust one another."

Hikari nodded, feeling a sense of camaraderie already forming in his heart for his fellow campers. "I can't wait to train with them too! I'll show them what I can do!"

"Now that's the spirit," Chiron said with a smile. "Let's get you some rest for now. We'll continue your training tomorrow, and I'll arrange for you to practice with other demigods as well."

"Sounds good!" Hikari replied, feeling a mix of exhaustion and excitement as he made his way out of the training area. He knew this was just the beginning of his journey, and he couldn't wait to see where his newfound skills would take him.

Hikari looked at Chiron. "Hey Chiron, what powers do the children of Aphrodite get?"

Chiron replied, "That would be Charm Talk. It allows you to make people listen to you, though it's more effective if you use it wisely."

Hikari considered this. "So, mind control?"

Chiron nodded. "It sounds bad, but—"

Hikari cut him off. "It's pretty handy. If used right, I can get mortals out of danger during monster attacks or get help when needed. I can inspire people or assist in rescues. There are many possibilities."

Chiron blinked, surprised. "This is a first. Your siblings often use it for less than noble purposes."

"Then I'll just have to set a better example," Hikari said with a grin. "If I get these powers, I might as well use them for something good."

Chiron regarded him thoughtfully. "It's refreshing to hear you think that way. Remember, though, it's a double-edged sword. Be careful not to manipulate people against their will."

"Got it. Use my powers wisely. No forcing anyone," Hikari replied, serious now.

Chiron smiled. "You have a good heart, Hikari. It's essential for a hero."

"Thanks. I want to make a difference, not just in battles, but in everyday life. If I can help people, I'll feel worthwhile."

"Let's practice some Charm Talk techniques," Chiron suggested. "It could be beneficial for you to understand how to influence others without coercion."

"Yeah! I'd love to learn!" Hikari exclaimed.

"Alright, let's start with some basics. Charm Talk isn't just about words; it's also about your demeanor and presence. Confidence and sincerity go a long way," Chiron instructed.

They practiced exercises where Hikari attempted to persuade Chiron to help him with training, using Charm Talk to appeal to his mentor. Hikari was amazed at how effectively he could influence Chiron's responses.

"Wow, this is kind of fun! I can see how it works!" Hikari said.

"Just remember, practice makes perfect," Chiron replied. "You'll want to use your powers responsibly."

As the session continued, Hikari felt more connected to his heritage as a child of Aphrodite. He envisioned how he might use his powers to uplift those around him.

"Thank you, Chiron. I feel like I'm starting to understand what it means to be a demigod," Hikari said, determination shining through.

Chiron nodded, proud. "With that understanding, you'll be able to forge your own path in this world."
