Percy's Pokemon Adventure

Chapter 16: Chapter 15

Percy and Jason walked out of the hotel chatting about what they would eat first. Jason had gone exploring the city the night before and had a good idea as to what was going around in the city.

He informed Percy of all the Clans that had a big part of the city and where he could find them. "There's one big clan that runs this city and owns almost everything. The city is one of the most economically prosperous cities when it comes to grade 4 cities.

It's at the start of the trainer cycle and brings in really tasty honey. They have a prosperous Beedrill farm that brings in high quality honey year round. I've heard that a clan moved in long ago with hundreds of Beedrill and started a farm. The large clan hire trainers to get wild honey as it tastes even better than their farmed honey. Struggle makes everything taste better.

About 60% of all honey in Kanto region comes from this city. The Honeycomb Clan is the biggest clan in Honey City. There are other clans but they are being suppressed by the Honeycomb Clan and are about to die out. They are so big that they are invited to the Kanto Powers meeting."

Percy showed a confused face. "You don't know what that is? Whatever, it's a once a year event where all the biggest powers in the region get together at a discreet location to talk about the future of the region.

There would be all kinds of powerhouses there. The Arcanine Clan, the Jenny Clan, the Joy Clan, and Professor Oak would attend. As well as the Champion previous Champions and the Elite Four. The heads of the biggest clans in the region would attend and offer support or vote on topics.

The Honeycomb Clan would be considered a very rich clan. They're nothing special when it comes to big clans but to the average person they would seem like royalty. Each member of Honeycomb clan would be treated like a saint in the city. It's well advised to do whatever they want as they hold absolute power here.

They personally raised the Gym leader of Honey City to gain more power inside the city. Although the Gym leader tries to keep his distance he still ends up being a pawn for the clan. The Clan has a large compound where the members sleep and live.

They also have whole sections that is dedicated solely to storing goods. The clan raises a private army to prevent robbery or theft. They take really good care of the whole city as it is really just a giant asset to them.

We could probably go over to the job board outside the gym and find some good paying jobs." Jason finished speaking. "How the hell do you know all of that?" Percy asked. "Friends." Jason said simply and changed the subject. "Let's go to those food stalls." Percy and Jason walked to a large line of honey themed food stalls.

There were all kinds of things including honey ice cream and honey sauce. Percy and Jason tried everything they could find and sat on a bench stuffed to the rim. "So much honey." Percy burped. "My teeth feel like their gonna fall out. Too sweet." Jason groaned. They sat next to each other groaning and trying to digest their food. After sitting on bench for half an hour they're ready to do the next thing Jason planned. "Do you know of the Trainer Battling Association?" Jason asked Percy. "No." Jason rolled his eyes and explained

"It's an association under the government that has trainers battle each other so they can find the strongest trainers. Trainers apply at buildings and can battle their way up the rankings. If a trainer can get up to the top 10 spots of the rankings they can challenge an Elite Four member and try and take their spot.

Although all of the top 10 spots are taken by powerful gym leaders as even they are trying to be an Elite Four member. You can challenge people anywhere even in the wild. You'll get a notification on your Pokédex that there is someone near you challenging you. The association will send a drone to be the referee and keep track of results. The higher you are on the leader board the more Pokémon are used in a battle. Any battle above top 100 are 6 Pokémon battles and are regulated by a person and streamed on the internet. I thought we should apply there today.

It'll provide rewards for people who get to certain places. It'll also help us refine our battling skills." Jason finished talking and Percy stood up. "That sounds really fun. I can't wait to get higher than you on the leaderboard." Percy said chuckling. Jason stood up as well and grinned "Your skill can't be compared to mine." They both walked as Jason guided them with his Pokédex.

They soon arrived at a business like building with a small Pokémon battling arena outside of it. There were two people battling in it. There was a girl with a Heracross and a boy with a Pikachu. Percy checked their stats with his Pokédex and saw

Pokémon: Heracross

Moves: Tail Whip, Thunder Shock, Growl, Play Nice, Quick Attack, Electro Ball, Thunderwave, Feint, Double Team, Thunderbolt [E] (Inherent Move), Iron Tail (Inherent Move)

Percy was thoroughly surprised at the quality of the Pokémon in front of him. He handed the Pokédex to Jason so he could look then looked at the trainers closely. The girl had bright yellow hair and wore a carefree expression as if she could not be more at home.

She had a casual white t shirt with yellow and black shorts. The girl was quite tall standing at about 180 cm. She seemed to be provoking the other boy with playful words. The boy had raven black hair and a red cap on. He looked like he also wouldn't want to be anywhere else but battling right now.

He was athletic looking and was about 170 cm. A drone counted down and the battle started. "Who do you think will win?" Percy asked. "I think the Pikachu will win. I mean it's got a Expert move. And such a powerful move like Thunderbolt is bound to do good damage." Jason reasoned. "You can't be too sure.

The Pikachu has the ability Static and the Heracross has Guts. If the Heracross gets paralyzed at any point it can become significantly stronger. And paired with a Pikachus relatively low defense it may be knocked out in two hits. The Pikachu can't get hit or else there's a chance it'll paralyze the Heracross. Most of its ranged moves have a chance to paralyze its opponent." Percy explained his thought process on the battle.

"You're right I wasn't thinking that far." Jason said admiring Percys thinking skills. The boy trainer immediately yelled "Thunderbolt." While the girl trainer smiled as if she knew that was going to happen. The Heracross prepared a move and it's horn glowed green.

The Pikachu charged its Thunderbolt way faster than the Heracross but the Heracross stood unmoving as lighting flew towards her. She was hit by the Thunderbolt but was able to keep her concentration and finished her Megahorn. She charged toward the Pikachu who wasn't expecting the immediate attack and slammed its horn into him.

Then she pinned the Pikachu to the ground with its horn and started preparing a move. The Pikachu squirmed under the horn but couldn't get out. The Heracross started preparing a move and it's fists glowed white. The boy trainer immediately ordered the Pikachu to use Thunderbolt.

The Pikachu finished its Thunderbolt before the Heracross and zapped it. Once again the Heracross kept its focus and finished preparing its move. It's fists started using Fury Attack on the pinned down Pikachu. After pounding the pinned down Pikachu it suddenly stopped as electricity flowed throughout its body. It was paralyzed!

The Pikachu pushed itself out from under the unmoving Heracross. The Heracross came back to its senses and pursued the Pikachu. "Finish it!" The girl shouted. "Quick Attack away!" The boy shouted. The Heracross prepared its move faster as it had better mastery and charged toward the Pikachu. The Pikachu was unable to use Quick Attack and was hit by a Guts powered up move. The Pikachu got sent back into the trainers arms fainted.

The trainer sprayed a little bit of potion on the Pikachu before walking toward the girl. The girl stood next to her Heracross congratulating it thoroughly. She looked toward the boy before sticking out her tongue and laughing. The boy smiled but seemed a little sour over the loss.

They talked a little before going to the Pokémon Center to heal their Pokémon. Jason looked toward Percy and said "You were right." Percy looked toward him. "Of course I was." He turned away entering the building. About 15 minutes later Percy and Jason emerged from the building with excited faces on. After going through a bunch of paperwork they had entered the Trainers Battling Association.

Percy checked his Pokédex to see what place he's in and it said he was in 1,130,457,930 place. "Holy shit." Percy thought aloud. "How many numbers is that." "Too many." Jason replied. "Let's challenge somebody so I don't have to look at this colossally large number." They found somebody who was near their rank and challenged them.

They both used their starters and utterly destroyed their opponents. Their poor opponents only had white potential Rattatas that were level 13. Their place had risen to 502,430,909 and 501,355,997. "It seems like a lot of people join, but not so many battle." Jason commented.

After he said that Percy and him noticed four people approaching them. "Are you guys Percy and Jason?" Jason and Percy looked toward the 4 people and saw the trainers that were battling earlier along with two new people.

There was a new girl with orange hair tied up in a side ponytail. She had on blue shorts and a light blue tank top with a little of her stomach exposed. The other new person was a short boy that had the exact same face as the girl with yellow hair. He was shorter and had dark blue hair. "How did you know?" Jason asked. "Your names were announced on the drone." The orange haired girl responded. "Oh." Jason said.

"You guys are the new people in the program right?" The black haired boy asked. "Yeah, we are." "It's nice to meet you. My name is Ash Ketchum. My dream is to become the Kanto Pokémon Champion. This is Pikachu my starter." Ask exclaimed. He extended a hand out to shake their hand. Percy shook his hand and sneaked a glance toward the orange haired girl.

Jason hesitated before shaking Ash's hand. "Are you guys any good at battling?" The yellow haired girl asked excitedly. The short boy elbowed her and muttered "Introduce yourself first." She said sorry and introduced herself. "I'm Haley. My dream is to become the strongest trainer in the world!" "I'm her twin. The name is Marcus. I handle all the brain work while she handles the Pokémon and battling. My starter is Exeggcute. We look forward to working with you." He shook hands with both Percy and Jason in an extremely professional manner.

The girl with orange hair walked up to Percy. "Do you really own that Totodile? My names Misty and I aspire to be a water master". She said excitedly. She seemed like she was genuinely interested in Crash. "Yeah, I wouldn't say I own him but he is my Pokémon. His names Crash." Percy let Crash out of his pokeball and warned Misty "He does bite. I wouldn't put your hands near his mouth."

She seemingly didn't hear him and approached Crash with a hand out. Crash looked around confused before seeing Mistys hand reaching for him. He looked toward Percy his eyes asking for directions. Percy shrugged his shoulders and silently told Crash to do what he wants.

Percy warned her and if she didn't want to heed his warning then she should get what was coming. Percy didn't want to stop his Pokémon from making decisions for themselves as he thought that individualism was more important when it came to learning from mistakes.

Although what Crash was about to do was not necessarily a mistake, his future actions were bound to cause problems. Percy wanted Crash to make small decisions with more maturity and thinking involved.

If Crash bit Misty, Percy would lightly scold him then probably forget it ever happened. After all, decision making like this would help Crash in the long run. Everybody except for Misty could notice how Crash clearly didn't want to be touched and was exuding a rather threatening aura.

Misty apparently oblivious to Crash's emotions kept reaching toward Crash's head. "Misty you should as-". Ash said before Crash's head snapped forward and snapped at Mistys fingers. Mistys hand flew back and she recoiled. "Why did he just try to bite me." She shrieked.

She was rather puzzled as as her dream stated, she was quite talented with water Pokemon. It's just that Crash is both an asshole and rather aggressive. She was able to tame almost every water Pokémon she had met before. To anyone who had sufficient experience with Pokémon saw how Crash had never intended to bite her. He was just warning her not to come any closer or else he would have actually taken off a finger. Everybody except Misty and Marcus noticed. Misty would've noticed under normal circumstances but was too absorbed with such a rare Pokémon. Marcus didn't really care as he reasoned that if your warned and you still don't care you deserve to be bitten.

"What's his name?" Ash asked. "It's Crash." Percy replied. He was quite proud of his naming abilities. "May I touch you Crash?" Ash politely asked Crash. Crash looked toward Percy and then back at Ash. He nodded yes. Ash smiled and slowly and steadily reached his hand out to Crash's head. Ash slowly scratched and rubbed under Crash's chin. Crash closed his eyes and growled in happiness. After a few more seconds Ash pulled away with a happy smile on his face.

Haley immediately tried to reach towards Crash but was pulled back by her brother. "Ask first." He said in an annoyed way. "Oh yeah! Crash may I please touch your spiky back and tail!" Haley said excitedly. Crash warily eyed the girl and slowly nodded yes. She jumped forward and started aggressively stroking his back and tail.

After about 5 seconds Crash couldn't take it anymore and backed away from Haley. Haley stopped and smiled toward Percy. "Do you want to touch him?" Percy asked Marcus. "No thanks I'm not a big Pokémon guy. Not a lot of Pokémon like me." Percy shrugged his shoulders and picked Crash up.

He set Crash in his head. "So are you guys any good at battling?" Haley asked excitedly. "I like to think of myself as above average." Jason stated. "Great let's battle. I will use Herry so you use whatever's best for you." She jumped happily away toward the small battling arena. "Herry is her Heracross' name. She's not very good at naming things." Marcus explained.

Jason nodded and walked up to the arena. He pulled a pokeball off of his belt and released Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto squawked loudly and perched on Jasons shoulder.

Jason whispered a few words to her and she flew onto the arena eyeing her opponent. Haley smiled at the Pidgeotto before releasing her Pokémon. Herry the Heracross entered the arena pumped. Marcus refereed the match. He counted down and the battle started.
