Chapter 22: Chapter 21
Percy, Ash and Jasper had been going around for hours now and have taken out a lot of Pokémon. They used the same strategy they used in the first battle. The Pikachu would zap the strongest ones and the other Pokémon would quickly take out leftovers.
Fortunately no unforeseen situation has popped up and things have been going smoothly. They were just finishing up a group of Pokémon and decided to stop for the day. They've been traveling hard and their Pokémon were exhausted.
The colony would start getting suspicious if more Pokémon went missing. In about 5 hours they were able to defeat 27 Spearow and 20 Fearow.
18 White Spearow
5 Light Green Spearow
1 Green Spearow
2 Dark Green Spearow
1 Light Yellow Spearow
13 White Fearow
2 Light Green Fearow
2 Dark Green Fearow
2 Light Yellow Fearow
1 Dark Yellow Fearow
Almost every single Pokémon knew the move Tailwind. Ash was planning to sell everything that wasn't White Potential. Unfortunately Percy nor Jasper have found a Pokémon that deserves to be in their team.
Both of them would only think of adding a Pokémon to their team if it was at least light red potential. However they weren't frustrated as they knew that sooner or later there was bound to be a good Pokémon.
Although most of the time they were silent, Percy had learned quite a bit about Jasper and Ash. He learned that Jasper also had access to aura. And more specifically had an aura type called teleportation. He was able to manifest aura in places he could remember and teleport to it. His manifested aura would act as a connection to him and a location.
Apparently he could only teleport 4 times a day as it exhausted his aura too quickly. Jasper could also teleport with other things but is only able to teleport with one person. Also it is limited to once a day as he wasn't very good at it just yet. Percy was confused as he knew that people who control psychic energy could also teleport but that it only comes in the later stages of mastery.
But after he saw Jasper teleport he knew what the difference was. Most psychic users would use teleportation to create distance so they could attack at range. They would have a cool down on their teleport and wouldn't be able to teleport from anywhere from 30 seconds to an hour depending on the strength of the user.
Jasper however was only limited by his energy and mastery over it. Meaning that he could use his teleport to get a more offensive advantage. After watching them Percy also learned that Jaspers Monferno is named Tyson and his Pikachus name is Elektra.
From what Percys seen Ash doesn't give his Pokémon names. Percy also noticed how Ash and his Pokémon have the closest relationships he had seen. While Percy would like to say that his and Crash's relationship was close it was nowhere as close to Ash and his Pokémon.
Pikachu had not left Ash's side once and Percy couldn't even begin to think about being around Crash that much. Percy and Crash sat around a newly burning camp fire as they watched Jasper cook 3 Fearow.
They were three white potential Fearow that unfortunately died when they fell. One cracked its head open while the other two landed on their neck. Jasper had just started cooking them and was adding spices on the bird. He methodically turned the birds over and cooked every crevice perfectly.
A few minutes later Jasper took the bird off the fire and dished it out on three plates. Percy fed all of his Pokémon their special food and chowed down with Jasper and Ash. Everybody just enjoyed their food silently and no words were exchanged. All of their Pokémon ate together and socialized together. Jaspers Monferno, Tyson, and Fúria were exchanging pointers with their moves.
Fúria seemed to be teaching Tyson Karate Chop while Tyson taught her Mach Punch. Percy knew that Mach Punch could only be learned by a very small amount of Pokémon and was curious if Fúria could learn it. Metapod sat on top of Crash's head cooing and jumping (?) up and down.
Crash sat on the ground with a mildly frustrated face but otherwise didn't retaliate. Both Pikachus and Pidgey chased each other around and played. Pharaoh stayed by Percys side and stayed alert for any potential threat. His vigilance surprised everyone around the fire as you would have thought that Pharaoh was a life long partner of Percys.
If you told someone that they had only known each other for a few days they wouldn't believe you at all. It was also extremely difficult to build up trust with a Pokémon like Growlithe. Average people would have to prove themselves as a capable trainer time and time again in order to even get the Growlithe to listen to them.
Percys situation was an absolute anomaly and couldn't be comprehended so Ash and Jasper just stopped trying to. They still sat around the campfire chatting about little things. "Is there anything I should know about the other Prodigies?" Percy asked them.
Ash finished his food and looked at Percy. "Yeah. There's some stuff I can tell you about. All of them are interesting people and it'll be better if you don't offend one by accident." Jasper and Ash started cleaning up camp while talking about the other Prodigies with Jasper sometimes chiming in. "First I'll start with the people I'm the closest to. You've already met Misty, Marcus, and Haley so I'll just start with them.
Misty and I have been traveling together ever since I accidentally destroyed her bike. She's been hounding me about paying it back but it's one of the highest quality bikes on the market. It would take over 5 million pokedollars to buy one and I won't have that for a while.
She's the younger sister of the Sensational Sisters. You don't know who they are?" Ash asked after seeing Percys confused face. "They are the gym leaders of Cerulean City. There's three of them and together they're able to handle the entirety of Cerulean City.
While normal Level 5 city gyms would require a extra strong gym leader they had three gym leader level trainers. So far they've been able to protect the city with their teamwork. Anyways Misty is their younger sister. She received both her starter Psyduck and her Staryu.
The Prodigy program stops her from getting too much support from her gym so she can grow with her own strength. Misty reeeaaalllly hates bug Pokémon. Like it's so bad that she'll break down crying if she can't run away from it. Otherwise she's just annoying and moody. Marcus and Haley are twins and also the exact opposite of each other.
Marcus is always taking care of Haley. She's just a little slow… like really really slow. Marcus handles everything except Pokémon. He manages their money, their time and their friends. Not that Haley can't make friends, she actually makes a lot more than Marcus but he would make friends for connections so he could get help in emergency's. Haley is absolutely the most talented trainer I have ever seen.
She's good at everything that has to do with Pokémon." "Like really good." Jasper chimed in. "Yeah she is the strongest Prodigy at the moment. It would take both Jasper and I to defeat her two Pokémon. And it would still be super close. Another person I'm relatively close with is Grace. She's a nice girl and I'm sure there's no way you can get on her bad side.
She's an aspiring model who's consistently going to photo shoots and performances. She's the girl who was in the picture I sent you. Grace is one of the weakest battlers in the Prodigies so don't expect too much." Jasper walked by Percy and leaned into his ear. "I personally think she's got a crush on Ash." Ash eyed them suspiciously as he thought he heard his name. "Anyway Grace has a friend named Luna.
She told me that her family had adopted Luna about 4 years ago. Every time I've seen Grace, Luna was also there. I wouldn't say they were inseparable though. It seems like Luna is the one deciding to stick so close.
It doesn't seem like an obsessive thing but more like a protection thing. But that does make sense seeing as Grace is one of the worst battlers. She's a little cold but is quite good at battling. Her being cold doesn't make it difficult to work with her at all though.
She's quite good at adapting to situations. I would say she's just a little worse at battling than Jasper. Although her training regiment is no where near as intense as Jaspers. Her style is… what would you call it?" "Goth." Jasper inserted. "Ah yes. She dresses in a goth style.
Like black and stuff. I think she specializes in dark like Pokémon. I don't know exactly as she last time I saw, only had one Pokémon. Do you know if she has another Pokémon Jasper?" Ash turned to Jasper. Jasper thought before a second before responding. "I brought in a box of Ekans food and asked everyone if they ordered it.
Luna said that she ordered so I just gave it to her and didn't think of it." "So she might have an Ekans. Alright. I should've told you that all of the Prodigies share a giant hotel room together. We each have our own room completely paid for by the Professor.
So everything we order shows up at the same door. Kushida is the next person I'm close with. She's super outgoing and one of the most friendly people I've ever met. She's made friends with almost every person she's ever met. Except for a few people she's been able to get close to them with just a few conversations.
Although whenever I talk to her I feel a weird energy coming from her. It's not exactly aura but something else." Ash could feel and use aura but didn't know his aura type. Everybody had an aura type so it was weird he didn't know his. One day Percy just accidentally released some angry aura energy after stubbing his toe.
The energy caused every vase around him to fall to the ground breaking. That's also how he learned he had aura. Jasper accidentally teleported to the other side of the city unlocking his aura. But Ash had unlocked aura but had no aura type. Not even Professor Oak knew what happened. "Yeah I also felt a strange energy coming from her. It felt like honey trapping me in a sweet sticky web." Jasper said. Percy thought for a second before saying. "It might be psychic energy." Both Ash and Jasper looked at Percy before nodding slowly. "It very might well be.
Nobody to my knowledge is a psychic in the Prodigies. It's very possible she might be hiding it. I don't know what she could gain with that though. Anyway there's Baxter who I don't know anything about. When we were traveling together he had difficulty getting his Pokémon to listen to him. Which is a Bulbasaur.
Otherwise I haven't seen him since we got to Honey City. Also there's Ishigami who I personally don't know much about." Ash nodded toward Jasper. "Ishigami is a quiet guy who likes to be by himself with his Pokémon. Out of all the Prodigies I'm probably the closest to him so I'll tell you about him.
He specializes in ghost Pokémon and he's almost always in the corner. He's a nice guy though and his Duskull really likes him. I've only seen him battle wild Pokémon and he's quite good. I imagine he's just as good as me he just needs his Pokémon to grow stronger to showcase his strength." Jasper complimented. "The last three are all from the biggest clans in Kanto.
There's Aurora, Zoe and Kai. Aurora is from the Joy Clan and is the newest upcoming daughter of the Clan Head. I personally haven't talked to her a lot but she's very nice and caring. She's almost always with Zoe and Kai just standing in the background with a pleasant smile on her face.
Her Chansey is quite good at healing and I'm sure you can talk to her about anything health related. I'm sure she'll be happy to talk to you. Zoe is a part of the Jenny Clan. Unfortunately I was never able to find out where in the clan she came from. She's nice enough and works well with others. Sometimes I get the feeling she's a little too stressed sometimes.
She's also always with Kai and Aurora staying behind Kai with a neutral face on. And finally Kai. He's a part of the Arcanine Clan and one of the best battlers. I would say he's just as good at battling as me or Jasper. He's kind of an asshole and ignores everyone else except for Aurora and Zoe.
That's all of the other Prodigies. It's a lot of information so just be yourself and you'll be good." Ash patted Percy on the back before asking "What's that egg you've been carrying around. I've been meaning to ask." Percy had completely forgotten about the egg he always carried in his back. He held the backpack in his arms and looked at the egg.
Suddenly a purple head poked straight through the shell. The head collided with Percys nose and they both recoiled. Percy held his nose with one hand and peeked into the shell. A curious gold eye with a snake like pupil peered back. It jumped out through the small hole wrapped around Percys neck.
It's tongue flickered out tasting Percys chin. A small Ekans was coiled around Percys neck inspecting him. At the moment the Ekans was significantly smaller than an average Ekans. Percy eyed the snake around his neck as he felt extremely vulnerable. Ash and Jasper both witnessed what just happened and were equally silent.
The snake nuzzled Percys cheek and fell asleep on Percys shoulders. Percy started breathing again. He took a pokeball from his pocket and caught the Ekans. Percy caught it without trouble and stared at the pokeball. "That was the first time I've ever seen a Pokémon hatch." Ash said. "I guess I've got to get some food for it now." Percy shook his head as he had completely forgotten to buy food for it before he left the city. "I've got MooMoo Milk.
I normally bring it for food recipes but I've got plenty for you to last." Jasper suggested. He took a bottle of MooMoo milk from his Pokédex and handed it to Percy. Percy nodded gratefully and took the bottle.
He let it out of its pokeball and fed it the whole bottle. Once again the snake slithered up Percys body coiling around his neck. It promptly fell into a deep sleep. Percy scanned it with his Pokédex.
Pokémon: Ekans
Level: 1
Abilities: Intimidate
Gender: Female
Potential: Light Red
Moves: Wrap, Leer
Percy was slightly disappointed in the potential but he knew that he only would've gotten red potential if he was lucky. He was momentarily confused at the lack of Inherent Moves but then remembered that Pokémon that haven't grown up don't get Inherent Moves.
Also Pokémon that change drastically at their final evolutions don't get Inherent Moves. Pokémon like Metapod or Kakuna. The reason MooMoo Milk was so good for newborn Pokémon was that they were too delicate to eat hard processed Pokémon food. Although the Ekans was small it would quickly grow in the coming week and come up to size.
She would most likely become bigger than average with her potential. "Well I think that I'll go to sleep now. Tomorrow's going to be tougher as the colony would notice 50 of them disappearing." Ash said. Percy nodded and asked "Should we set up some watch times?" "Yeah sure." They set up their times in witch Percy was the last person to go.
Meaning Jasper would wake him up and he would watch camp until morning. "Good night." "Good night." Percy went into his tent and called out Crash. Then he slowly uncurled Ekans from his neck and laid her down next to him. He told Crash to not sleep on her and fell asleep.
