Chapter 3: CHAPTER THREE LIVING TOGETHER
"You would really take me to jail for an accident?" Rhea asked in disbelief.
"It seems you won't give in," Luca replied, turning to the doctor. "Doctor, may I have your phone, please? I need to call the police and report a case here."
"No, no! Hold on!" Rhea panicked. "Fine. You can come and stay with me at my house until you regain your memory." Her voice wavered, fear and sadness clouding her face.
The doctor cleared his throat and handed Rhea two papers. "This is the bill for the treatment and a list of medications he needs."
"WHAT?!" Rhea's eyes widened in shock. "But this is expensive! How am I supposed to pay this? This would take my entire salary!" She gritted her teeth and leaned toward the doctor, whispering, "Can't you reduce the medications to lower the bill?"
The doctor shook his head. "No."
Rhea sighed in frustration. "Fine, I'll go make the payment."
She walked to the cashier with a heavy heart.
"Can I have your debit card?" the cashier asked.
"Sure…" Rhea hesitated, pulling her card from her bag. She stretched out her hand but clutched the card tightly for a moment, her fingers trembling with reluctance. Finally, she let go, watching as the transaction went through.
Her shoulders slumped. "Oh no... I'm so broke right now. How will I take care of him at home? How will I manage the expenses?" She leaned against the wall, silent tears slipping down her cheeks.
After composing herself, she returned to Luca's room.
"The doctor said we can go home now," she informed him.
"Where's my wheelchair?" Luca asked.
"What wheelchair? Can't you walk? You had a head injury, not a leg injury!" Rhea snapped.
Luca smirked. "If you don't get me a wheelchair, I won't leave this hospital. The bill will keep increasing, and you'll have to pay for it."
Rhea's jaw dropped. "Are you serious?! I just spent half my salary on your hospital bill and medication, and now you want a wheelchair too?"
"I need a wheelchair," Luca repeated firmly.
"Fine!" Rhea huffed, storming out of the room. She returned shortly with a wheelchair, helped him into it, and wheeled him out.
As they arrived at her apartment, Luca wrinkled his nose in distaste. "Is this where you live?"
Rhea frowned. "Why? Isn't it a good place?"
"Good place, my foot."
She rolled her eyes. "Listen, you're staying with me until you regain your memory, so you better deal with it. Besides, I didn't force you to come here."
They went upstairs to Rhea's apartment. She unlocked the door, and Luca glanced around.
"Well… it's not bad inside," he admitted.
"Don't you think you talk too much?" Rhea gave him a fake smile before frowning again.
She wheeled him to the living room before heading to the kitchen. Meanwhile, Luca managed to transfer himself onto the couch.
Rhea returned with food, placing it before him. He ate in silence while she went to freshen up. Later, she came back with a pillow and blanket.
"You'll sleep here in the living room because, obviously, we can't share a room," she said, handing them to him.
"Alright," Luca replied. "But I want to freshen up first."
"Yeah, you can use my bathroom," Rhea said, heading to her room.
A few minutes later, a loud scream echoed through the apartment.
"AHHHH! HELP!"
Rhea jumped up and rushed to the bathroom. She pushed the door open and found Luca standing in the far corner of the bathtub.
"What happened?" she asked, confused.
Luca pointed, his face pale. "There! A roach!"
Rhea glanced at the wall and burst into laughter. "Are you seriously scared of a cockroach?"
"You don't understand! Do you know how many germs they carry? I can't afford to be infected!"
Shaking her head, Rhea grabbed her sandal and smacked the cockroach. "See? It's dead. And I'm still alive." She chuckled and walked away.
Luca freshened up and returned to the living room.
"You can lay down now. I'm going to my room," Rhea said.
"Yeah, yeah, go ahead. Not like I care." Luca smirked.
Rhea rolled her eyes and left.

The Next Morning
The sun rose, casting golden rays into the apartment. Rhea prepared Luca's breakfast, left it on the table, and hurried off to work.
Later that day, as she arranged goods for delivery, her phone rang.
She picked up, and within seconds, her eyes widened in horror.
"WHAT?!" she exclaimed, dropping everything and rushing home.
As soon as she opened the apartment door, water gushed out, flooding her feet.
Her heart pounded as she stepped inside. Luca sat frozen on the edge of a chair, shivering, staring at the water.
"Mr. Luca?" Rhea called out. "Are you okay?"
Luca's hands trembled as blurred images flashed through his mind—memories of being pushed into a pool as a child. His chest tightened, but he couldn't fully grasp the memory.
Rhea struggled to wade through the water. "Sir?" She tapped his shoulder gently.
Luca snapped out of his daze, his eyes filled with fear. "Y...Yes, I'm fine," he mumbled.
Rhea turned to the flooded apartment, her frustration boiling over. "What on earth happened here?! Why is my house underwater?"
Luca gulped. "I… I tried turning on the tap. It wasn't working, so I thought there was a problem and tried fixing it."
Rhea's eye twitched. "You tried fixing it? What were you trying to fix?!"
"I… I think I broke the pipe by accident," Luca admitted, looking down.
Rhea clenched her fists. "So let me get this straight. You thought there was a problem, then decided to play plumber, and now my apartment is flooded?"
Luca remained silent.
Rhea groaned and grabbed a mop. "Unbelievable!"
After hours of exhausting cleanup, she wiped sweat from her forehead and grabbed her bag.
"Please, sir," she said firmly, "don't try fixing anything again. I beg you."
She walked out, heading back to work.

At the Carson Estate
In a lavish bedroom, Alan Carson slowly opened his eyes. His nurse gasped and quickly called for the family.
His sons, Leo and Liam, rushed in.
"Dad, you're awake!" Leo exclaimed. "How are you feeling?"
Alan Carson took a shaky breath. "I'm feeling better… but where… where is Luca?"
Leo exchanged a glance with Liam. "Dad, don't worry about Luca for now. You need to rest. We'll talk about him later."

Meanwhile, back at the apartment, Luca sat on the couch, deep in thought.
"I really messed up," he muttered. "I made her leave work, stressed her out because of my stupidity…"
He sighed. "I need to do something to make it up to her. But what?"
