Chapter 4: CHAPTER 4
c4: My Diancie Is the Cutest!
After carefully helping Bai Qianqian load the Energy Cubes into the trunk of her luxury car, Gu Xin stepped back, watching as she settled into the driver's seat.
"Goodbye, little brother~ If I have any questions about raising Squirtle, I'll be sure to contact you," Bai Qianqian said, securing the innocent-looking Squirtle in the passenger seat with a seatbelt.
She leaned out of the window, giving him a playful wave.
"Goodbye~ Come back anytime, and don't forget to introduce new customers to me!" Gu Xin called back.
"Don't worry about it."
Bai Qianqian stuck out her tongue playfully before driving off.
As her car disappeared down the street, Gu Xin took out a Poké Ball from his pocket, turning it over in his hand thoughtfully. He had debated whether to give it to Bai Qianqian, but in the end, he decided against it.
The Poké Ball's technology was far too advanced for this world. Even though the system had ensured that the existence of Pokémon and their related items would be naturally accepted, Gu Xin still felt it was too soon to introduce Poké Balls.
For now, there was only one customer Bai Qianqian and only one Pokémon had been sold. There was no need to reveal everything just yet.
"Finally made my first sale," Gu Xin muttered, stretching before heading back into the store.
It hadn't been easy. Business in the pet store had been slow. In the past two days, barely anyone had come by, and since there were no traditional pets like cats or dogs in the shop, most people didn't even hesitate before leaving.
The only other person who had shown interest was someone who drew Larvitar in their first gacha pull.
But after seeing Larvitar's tough exterior and hearing the price, the guy left without looking back though not before muttering a few choice words.
"Psycho!"
Gu Xin shook his head at the memory. That guy was going to regret his decision later.
Larvitar was an incredibly rare Pokémon with immense potential. If raised properly, it would eventually evolve into Tyranitar, a pseudo-Legendary Pokémon that rivaled even Dragonite and Salamence. Missing out on it was an enormous loss.
Even Gu Xin had been surprised by the man's insane luck to pull Larvitar on his first try.
Still, his focus returned to the present.
"System, settle the novice task."
After returning to the store, Gu Xin took a sip of tea and communicated with the system in his mind.
This system the Pokémon Master System was the reason he became the manager of this pet shop in the first place.
"The first Pokémon sale has been completed. Reward calculation in progress."
"Host is awarded an unlimited lottery spin. Would you like to proceed?"
A mechanical voice echoed in his mind.
"Start!" Gu Xin responded without hesitation, his heart pounding with anticipation.
Although he had just sold Squirtle to Bai Qianqian, he himself hadn't obtained a Pokémon yet.
That was about to change.
And this wasn't just any lottery it was an unlimited draw. That meant he had a chance to pull Legendary Pokémon!
Ho-Oh, Lugia, Rayquaza, Kyurem, and more!
"Initiating lottery draw."
A translucent, virtual roulette wheel materialized before him, spinning rapidly. The blurred silhouettes of countless Pokémon flickered across the wheel as it gradually slowed.
Then, the wheel came to a stop.
The image sharpened, revealing the Pokémon he had drawn. Gu Xin's eyes widened in excitement.
"Congratulations! The host has drawn Diancie."
For a moment, he was speechless. Then, a triumphant grin spread across his face.
"Haha! My luck is seriously off the charts today!"
He reached into the system's reward inventory and retrieved the Poké Ball that contained Diancie.
Diancie, the Jewel Pokémon, was a Mythical Pokémon born from Carbink under rare, miraculous conditions. It was revered as the princess of the Diamond Domain, a place hidden deep within Kalos's caves.
Officially classified alongside Pokémon like Mew and Celebi, Diancie was incredibly rare and precious.
"Come out, Diancie!"
With a flick of his wrist, Gu Xin tossed the Poké Ball. A burst of brilliant white light filled the store, condensing into the form of a dazzling Pokémon.
The creature that emerged was breathtakingly beautiful.
A radiant pink diamond adorned the top of its head, encircled by an elegant crown composed of four octahedral diamonds and two elongated gems.
It wore a flowing, pristine white dress, which blended seamlessly into its lower half—a large chunk of gleaming diamond ore.
Its ruby-red eyes sparkled with intelligence and curiosity. A delicate golden collar rested around its neck, from which hung an exquisite octahedral gemstone.
Diancie exuded an aura of nobility and grace. Every movement was poised, refined—like a princess in a grand court.
The Mythical Pokémon tilted its head slightly, observing Gu Xin with quiet curiosity.
"Hello, Diancie. My name is Gu Xin. From today on, we're partners," he said with a warm smile, bowing slightly in greeting.
Diancie's ruby-like eyes gleamed as she brought her small hands together and executed a flawless curtsy.
"I am pleased to make your acquaintance, Gu Xin."
Her voice crystal-clear and melodious resonated directly in Gu Xin's mind.
Telepathy!
Unlike most Pokémon, Diancie could communicate through mental speech, establishing a deep, direct link between hearts and minds.
Gu Xin was momentarily stunned by the sheer elegance of her tone.
"Diancie, your voice is incredible," he said sincerely. "Here, try this."
He reached behind the counter and pulled out a box of high-quality Energy Cubes.
Diancie's gaze softened as she delicately took one and nibbled on it.
"Thank you, Gu Xin. This is delicious~"
Even her manner of eating was refined, like that of a well-bred noble lady.
The contrast between Diancie and Bai Qianqian's hyperactive Squirtle was like night and day. While Squirtle had devoured his meal with boundless energy, Diancie enjoyed hers with measured elegance.
"She's adorable."
Gu Xin found himself wearing the same doting expression that Bai Qianqian had when interacting with Squirtle.
This was his first Pokémon.
And he couldn't be happier.
Yes his Diancie was the most beautiful, the most elegant, and the absolute cutest!
