Pokemon - A real story

Chapter 788: Complaints

When Axel woke up, it was already 5 a.m. in the morning. He looked into his watch and stood up and called Ashmita for the night raid.

"Sir, the night raid was not so hard. We only faced 2 king-rank Pokemons and both of them were in tier 1. Mia and Alon finished the job and you were very tired.

So, I didn't feel the need to wake you up.", replied Ashmita.

"I hope there were no casualties."

"No sir. The night raid went smoothly but I need to talk to you about the teleportation team.", said Ashmita.

"Oh, what about them?"

"Sir, we have divided the teleportation team into 2 groups. One for the day raid and another for the night raid. However, the number of team members is just far too small to support all the people around.

Till now they had been doing a good job but the pressure is high. Some of those Pokemons in the teleportation team had also suffered major injuries now and some of the Pokemons had also died.

So, the pressure is actually increasing and we don't know what to do."

"Call up a meeting. This is a serious issue and we need to address it as soon a possible.", said Axel.

He then told all of them get ready for the meeting in 20 minutes. Then he went to shower and then went to the meeting room. Most of them had arrived. Alon and Mia too. They looked sleepy but this was an important meeting and this had to be addressed.

"Ashmita had just told me that we are facing pressure from the teleportation team. Some of the Pokemon are seriously injured and some of them have died.

So, the pressure for the teleportation team had increased.", said Axel.

"Sir, we wanted to solve this issue by ourselves at first. At first, we thought that the teleportation team would not be so effective. No one had ever tried this strategy before, so we didn't have a lot of hope.

We trained all of those people in a single move 'Teleport'. With Hector's Xatu who was very proficient in the move, it became easier to train others. Then you came up with the strategy to position the teleportation team Pokemons in the right way.

Then the importance of the teleportation team increased by a lot. But even with the help of Miss. Arbiter's team, it became hard to cover all the bases. We were barely scrapping by but when the Pokemons in the teleportation team started to die, it became harder to capitalize on this strategy.", said Sam.

"Are there any other problems within this strategy?", asked Axel.

"Yes sir, there actually is one other thing that we have not share with you. The team that have used their Pokemons to use teleportation. They are creating a problem.", said Krishna.

"Oh, what kind of problem?", asked Axel.

"They are saying that they are making a lot of contributions and sacrifices than others."

"Why? I mean I know there has been no casualty but I also know that many people have lost their Pokemons and some of the Pokemons are also seriously injured.

It is not just the teleportation team. Other are also facing the same problem. This is a tide battle, not some simple human made competition where there would be no loss.

We are not fighting just for the gains but also for the humanity.", said Axel.

His voice increased with every sentence. Everyone was facing the same problem, so why was this teleportation team complaining?

Arbiter's face was also very down cause most of the members of the teleportation team came from her.

"Sir, I know that but the Pokemons that they are losing are psychic-type Pokemons. Psychic-type Pokemons are rare and they are very hard to cultivate. So, from one sense, they are not wrong.", said Sam partly defending Arbiter.

"That is where you are wrong, Sam. I know that psychic-type Pokemons are very hard to cultivate and equally rare. But the bond between a trainer and a grass-type Pokemon and the bond between a psychic-type Pokemon and a trainer is the same.

The trainer who lost a grass-type Pokemon would feel the same amount of pain as the trainer who lost a psychic-type Pokemon.

If they are only complaining cause they lost some more money or resources, then they have some twisted mind.", said Axel wholly believing what he was saying.

Axel was also not wrong about this. Axel didn't know the pain of losing a Pokemon but he knew that it was something that would not be bearable and would take a lot of time to recover.

"Sir, I get what you are saying but the fact is we are facing this problem and we need to solve it right now. So, what do you think that we should do?", asked Krishna.

Axel took a deep breath to control himself and thought about it in a logical way.

"Sam, do one thing. Gather all the casualty details of other base and do it in 2 hours.", said Axel.

"It will not take 2 hours. I can do it in 30 minutes.", said Sam with confidence.

"Good, then tell the teleportation meeting to come and meet me in the meeting hall. I want to have a word with them.", said Axel.

"Yes sir. Sir, what is your plan?", asked Sam.

"You will know in the meeting too.", said Axel.

###

The teleportation was the largest team. They consist of around 25000 members and most of them have psychic-type Pokemons.

All of them got a message that they had to meet with the main leader in 30 minutes. Most of them were just starting to wake up and the sudden notification surprised them and some of them were even scared.

"Why did the main commander call all of u?"

"Is he angry cause we are complaining?"

"If he has a good head on his shoulders, then he would not be angry. I mean we are losing a lot of our Pokemons."

All of them were discussing about the meeting. In this team, a small portion of them were from the mercenary team. They never had problem with Axel cause they knew that Axel was a very good leader.

But the new members of Arbiter's team were not like them. The old team members had tried to dissolve the situation but they had not been successful.

They knew that Axel was very giving and a good leader but he also had his limits. They sort of already understood that Axel was going to do something today and they didn't want to be a part of the crossfire.

###

The meeting hall was very big. It was made to house 50k members alone. So, all of them were sitting here comfortably and waiting for Axel to emerge.

Finally, Axel, Arbiter, Sam, Ashmita, and Hector arrived.

All of them took their seats on the stage and Axel was given a mike to speak.

"How are you all doing? I have been getting reports that all of you are doing a great job and I am very thankful for your contribution. Without your team, we would have faced many deaths.

Now, I have been hearing that you guys have some complaints. Can anyone tell me what are those complaints?"

Most of them raised their hands and Axel chose one of them to speak.

"Sir, we are doing all the saving and we are losing a lot of our Pokemons. We have cultivated those Pokemons with many hardships. So, we feel that we need to be compensated in some way.", said one middle-aged man.

"Hmm, Sam, did you get the details that I have told you?", asked Axel.

"Yes sir."

"Ok, start from the east region."

"On it sir. This is the details of a number of deaths of soldiers and also the Pokemons in different regions.

I am going to start with the east region. Till now, 15,452 have died in the east region. The death rate till now is 13% till now but the tide has still not been completed. The total loss of Pokemons is not very accurate but till now 40,534 Pokemon have died and among them, 8,756 are psychic-type Pokemons.

Now, going to the west region, the death rate is very similar. 15,870 soldiers have died till now and the total loss of Pokemons is 45,920.

The biggest loss is the south region. They have lost 19,854 soldiers and lost around 50,000 Pokemons and among them, 10,450 are psychic type Pokemons."

"Sam can you tell us about our casualty?", asked Axel.

"Yes sir. We are in the lead. We have lost 0 members and lost around 8,540 Pokemons. Among them 3,450 are psychic type Pokemons.", said Sam with his head high. He was really proud of this achievement.

Axel looked at those soldiers and all of them were feeling guilty now. They had guilty faces and Axel already understood what they were thinking.

"I am not bragging about our achievement since you guys are the ones who made it possible. Not only you but other teams have also made equal contributions.

The bond of a Pokemon and the trainer is sacred. So, losing one of your Pokemons must be a very bad feeling. I can understand that and I would have understood if you had said it this way.

But you said that your team is the only one that has been suffering. I am not saying that cultivating psychic-type Pokemons is easy but aren't other teams also suffering? Are you trying to say that the sadness of losing a Pokemon is greater for you and your team only? Why? Just cause you have to spend a lot of resources to cultivate your Pokemons?

You think that money could buy your Pokemons?", asked Axel.

All of them were feeling guilty about it. Of course, the bond between themselves and their Pokemons was not something that they could buy with money. It was just that they had asked the wrong question.

They also came to realize that they were in a good position considering the other regions.

"Now, I already said that I can understand the pain of losing a Pokemon that you all have felt. But this is war. I know that you have not joined here just for the money. Deep in our hearts, everyone wants to save their homeland and all of us want to have a bright future or their sons and daughters to have a bright future.

So, I have made some plans to decrease your pressure.

From today, we will focus on the night raid more and try to deal with ghost and dark-type Pokemons as much as possible. If we are able to finish off all the king-rank ghost-type and dark-type Pokemons, the pressure of the night raid will decrease by a huge margin.

The next thing that I want to introduce to you is the compensation system. All of you are given points based on the contribution that you have made. You can normally exchange them for money, or resources. So, for those that have lost their Pokemons, they will receive a 50% discount on the new Pokemon egg. Even if you don't have the required points to get the egg, I will personally pay the remaining amount given that you are only buying that egg.

Don't worry, you might be thinking that you will receive a caterpie in those eggs. You will not. You will receive a nice Pokemon with advanced potential.

That is all I can do to make you happy. This is a tide battle and the lives of your comrades are in your hand. I don't want you to rebel or complain anymore.

I am just telling you the truth and I hope that you accept it."
