Pokémon: Ash's New Journey

Chapter 123: A Reunion in the Water Capital – Latias’ Longing!

"Misty, it looks like you've successfully caught Feebas! But if you want it to evolve, you're still missing something important."

The ocean surrounding the Water Capital is seamlessly connected to the city's waterways, making it easy to leave and just as easy to return.

"I know, I need a Prism Scale," Misty replied confidently.

Feebas can only evolve into the elegant Milotic when exposed to a Prism Scale.

"Actually, Misty, you don't need to worry about that," Anabel interjected with a smile. "Back when I was evolving my own Feebas, I collected three Prism Scales. I used one for myself, gave another to a friend, and I still have one left. Looks like it's finally going to be useful!"

Ash was just about to exchange for a Prism Scale from his system's store, but now that Anabel had one, it was even better.

After all, traveling with three girls—Misty, May, and Anabel—he had to be considerate of their feelings.

Misty was stunned for a moment when Anabel pulled out the shimmering Prism Scale.

"This… this is too valuable…" she hesitated.

"Take it, Misty," Ash encouraged. "This is Anabel's way of showing kindness."

"We're all like family now, so don't be shy," Anabel said with a slight blush.

Misty finally accepted the Prism Scale but didn't plan to use it immediately. Instead, she wanted to train Feebas first, ensuring it had a solid foundation before evolving.

A Pokémon shouldn't evolve too hastily. Strength, battle skills, and experience were just as important.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Water Capital, two invisible Pokémon roamed freely through the city.

One had a streamlined blue-and-white body, resembling a cross between a jet and a bird, with triangular red markings on its chest. With a flick of its wings, it could soar at astonishing speeds—this was Latios, one of the guardians of the Water Capital.

The other, a red-and-white counterpart, looked nearly identical to Latios but had a gentler and more playful demeanor—this was Latias, his younger sister.

The legendary sibling duo had left their Secret Garden, curious about the upcoming Water Race Festival (i.e, Tour de Alto Mare).

Each year, the Water Capital burst into life with festivities during this event, and although they usually remained hidden in their sanctuary, they loved sneaking out to observe the excitement.

Floating invisibly atop two stone pillars, Latias scanned the crowd eagerly.

But no matter how hard she searched, she couldn't find the familiar face she longed to see.

Disappointed, she turned to her brother.

Brother, do you think Ash will come to see us this time?

Latios hesitated before responding, I don't know, but he promised he would visit. If he's not here for this festival, he'll surely come next time.

But Latias wasn't convinced.

She lowered her head, letting out a soft whimper. I miss him…

Latios sighed, knowing his little sister's feelings ran deeper than she admitted.

In truth, he had told her the same thing last year—that Ash might visit soon.

But he never came.

Not because he forgot, but because he had important things to do.

Still, Latias was young, and she missed Ash more than anything.

She had even transformed into her human disguise—the girl named Bianca—just to play with him when he first visited.

And when Ash left the Water Capital, she had given him a goodbye kiss, a memory she had cherished ever since.

Latios watched his sister, considering something important.

If Ash truly came this time, and if Latias wanted to leave, then… maybe he should let her go.

Perhaps it was time for her to see the world beyond the Alto Mare.

At that very moment, Ash and his friends arrived at the Alto Mare's temple and Sun Tower.

Here, they were warmly welcomed by Lorenzo, the elder guardian of the city, and his granddaughter, Bianca.

"Lorenzo, Bianca, it's been a while!" Ash greeted with a smile.

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu chimed in cheerfully.

"Ash! This is a wonderful surprise!" Lorenzo's eyes twinkled. "But it looks like you've brought some new friends as well."

Lorenzo knew very well that Latias had been yearning to see Ash again.

But who were these new girls with him?

He hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to reveal too much about the city's secrets.

Ash noticed his concern and reassured him.

"Don't worry, Lorenzo. You already know Misty. This is May, and that's Anabel. They're my good friends, and they can be trusted."

After a brief introduction, everyone was at ease.

Lorenzo then revealed something interesting—Latios and Latias had left their Secret Garden earlier that day.

Hearing this, Ash closed his eyes and activated his Aura.

With a single pulse, he extended his Aura Power across a five-kilometer radius.

Immediately, two powerful presences responded.

Latios and Latias both felt it.

Ash was here.

He had returned!

The two legendary Pokémon shot through the skies, racing toward their Secret Garden.

And at that moment, Ash and his friends arrived there as well.

But Latias was faster.

Dashing through the waterway entrance, she burst into the garden at lightning speed.

As she emerged, her bright golden eyes met Ash's.

Time seemed to freeze.

A surge of emotions overwhelmed her.

After so long…

After all the waiting…

She finally saw him again.

Ash smiled warmly.

"Latias, long time no see!"
