[Ding!]

[Teleportation complete. Destination reached.]

[Checking the host's physical condition.]

[Scanning... Condition stable. Awakening soul consciousness.]

"Ugh, cough, cough... What happened? Argh, it's so bright! So blinding!"

Liam slowly opened his eyes. Before he could react, sunlight flooded his face, forcing him to shut them again. He quickly covered his face with his hands.

"Ah! What the heck? Where am I? Where's my ceiling?!"

Rolling on the ground, Liam covered his face and then struggled to his feet, shielding his eyes with one hand. Only then did he take in his surroundings.

Before him lay a serene world. He found himself lying on a dirt path bordered by soft, green grass. The road was flanked by lush forests, and above was a bright blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds drifting lazily. A gentle breeze rustled the trees, creating a soothing symphony of rustling leaves.

Everything seemed idyllic.

"This... This isn't just my ceiling missing! The walls are gone too! Where on earth am I? I was in my apartment, wasn't I? How did I end up by this forest? My head hurts—what the fuck is going on?"

"Pi~"

A peculiar cry echoed from the forest. Suddenly, a large bird flew out from the woods to his left and soared toward another forest, sparing Liam a curious glance mid-flight.

The moment Liam laid eyes on the bird, he froze in place. He remained like that until it vanished into the distant trees.

Gradually, his face came alive, first with confusion and then with uncontainable joy—pure, unabashed delight.

"That... That was a Pidgeotto! A real, living Pidgeotto! Does this mean... Am I in the Pokémon world?! Has my wish really come true?!"

Elation surged through Liam's heart as he leapt to his feet and dashed toward where the Pidgeotto had disappeared. But as soon as he stood, he noticed something strange—his body felt unfamiliar.

Liam had been 1.8 meters tall with a lean 65-kilogram frame. Now, his body seemed to have shrunk, standing at only about 1.6 meters with an estimated weight of 50 kilograms.

He wore a simple outfit of a short-sleeve shirt and long pants, and his arms and legs felt slender and smaller, like they belonged to his prepubescent self.

Though his physical form had changed, Liam wasn't panicked. He quickly surmised that he had likely encountered the legendary phenomenon of transmigration. And if he'd already crossed into another world, what was a smaller body in comparison?

It was a minor inconvenience at best!

[Ding!]

[Host consciousness awakened]

[System initializing.]

[All-Encompassing Exchange System (Pokémon World) activated.]

A sudden voice echoed in Liam's mind, catching him off guard. Then, his shock turned into unbridled excitement.

"Oh my gosh! Not only did I get to live my dream of transmigrating, but I also got a cheat system? Hello! System, hello!"

[Ding!]

[System successfully activated.]

[System spirit initializing.]

As the voice in his mind echoed again, a shimmering figure materialized before Liam.

Liam calmly observed the glowing apparition without a hint of fear. The figure eventually solidified into a small, adorable sprite, no more than 30 centimeters tall. It opened its eyes, glanced at Liam, and smiled gently.

"Hello, esteemed host. I am the assistant spirit for the All-Encompassing Exchange System. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will do my best to assist you."

Liam grinned. "Nice to meet you! What should I call you? And what exactly is this All-Encompassing Exchange System? Also, is this really the Pokémon world?"

The spirit nodded and replied in a calm tone, "You may call me Lulu. The All-Encompassing Exchange System was a gift from a mysterious figure who, due to an accidental lightning strike, destroyed your original body. As compensation for the accident, they provided this system for you. Rest assured, it's perfectly safe to use."

"As for your location, this is indeed the Pokémon world. You are currently in the Kanto region. The mysterious figure learned of your wish and decided to fulfill it as part of their apology."

Hearing this, Liam remembered a flash of blinding light before he blacked out.

So, he was struck by lightning? What a dramatic way to go. Still, with all these perks, he guessed he could begrudgingly forgive that mysterious person—whoever they were.

"Ah, I see. Well then, I'll call you Lulu from now on. So, Lulu, does this mean I can't go back to my original world?"

"That's correct. Your original body was completely carbonized, making a return impossible. This new body was crafted by the mysterious figure and is perfectly suited to the physiology of humans in the Pokémon world. It's free of any flaws, so you can use it with confidence."

"Huh. Well, that's... that's great news! I didn't have many attachments back there anyway. It's better this way. Dust to dust, ashes to ashes. From now on, I'm a new person in this world!"

Lulu beamed. "It's wonderful to hear such positivity, host. Now, let me explain how the All-Encompassing Exchange System works."

Liam listened attentively as Lulu continued:

"As the name suggests, the system allows you to exchange points for any item within the Pokémon world. There are four main categories: Pokémon, items, moves, and berries/medicines. However, note that Pokémon cannot be directly exchanged—they can only be acquired through special means. All other items are unrestricted."

Hearing this, Liam's initial excitement deflated. "Wait, what? No direct Pokémon exchanges? What's the point of this system, then?"

Lulu rolled her eyes. "Pokémon obtained through the system are of the highest quality and are provided as eggs. Raising and nurturing Pokémon from eggs takes time, which teaches the host the value and worth of the Pokémon. You're free to catch wild Pokémon as you like, but system Pokémon gotta follow system rules. Period."

Liam mulled it over and reluctantly agreed. It did make sense—sort of. Plus, there wasn't much he could do if the system insisted.

Seeing Liam's conflicted expression, Lulu smirked. "However, as a host benefit, the system will gift you a randomly selected Pokémon egg—one that's quite powerful."

Liam's spirits soared again. "Really? Then hurry up, Lulu, let me see it!"

With a wave of her hand, a massive roulette wheel appeared. Each segment showcased a gleaming Pokémon egg. Liam's mouth watered as he took in the sight.

Without waiting for instructions, he rushed forward, grabbed the wheel, and spun it with all his might. "Spin, wheel of fortune!"

As the wheel gradually slowed, Liam watched with bated breath. Finally, it stopped on a white egg, which materialized in midair. He rushed forward to catch it, cradling it gently in his arms.

"A white egg... Based on usual patterns, it'll probably hatch into something completely white. Let me think... Pokémon like Seel, Absol, Pachirisu, Vanillite, or Drifloon fit the bill. Wait, could it be Lugia?!"

Lulu sighed. "There's no way the system would hand you a legendary Pokémon right off the bat. However, this egg is indeed extraordinary and will become a valuable ally in the future."

"Then tell me what Pokémon it is!"

"I won't spoil the surprise. Isn't the unknown part of the fun?"

Lulu continued, "Here's 500 exchange points as your starting funds. To earn more, complete system tasks or fill out the Pokédex."

"Now, follow this path, and you'll reach Pallet Town. But... I must mention something important."

Lulu hesitated, her expression awkward.

"Just say it. I can handle it!"

"Heh, during the teleportation process, there was a tiny, miniscule error. Nothing major, but… ahem.. the timeline is a bit off. It's currently ugh.. five years before Ash Ketchum's birth."
