Chapter 32: Chapter 31: The Arrival of Fujiwara Kiyoshi
The gym's training room was more than just a place for battles—it was equipped with high-tech devices for making Pokéblocks and even assessing a Pokémon's potential.
Ryuu carefully placed Aron onto the scanning platform and switched on the machine.
The device whirred to life, emitting a soft hum as a beam of light enveloped Aron.
Although small in size, this scanner was highly advanced.
While there was a small margin of error, it was considered one of the most reliable methods for potential evaluation.
At least, it was more accurate than whatever faulty machine had evaluated Watanabe Shun's Torchic—which had been completely wrong.
The scan completed quickly, and the results flashed onto the screen.
A single word appeared:
[Elite]
For a moment, the room fell silent.
Then—
"YES!"
Daiki and Sumire cheered, gripping each other in excitement.
"This is amazing!" Sumire beamed.
"Our son really is a genius!" Daiki laughed, slapping Ryuu on the back.
"A Bagon with Champion potential, a Frogadier with Elite potential, and now an Elite-tier Aron?"
Even if Bagon wasn't considered, Frogadier and Aron alone were already strong enough for a future Elite Trainer.
And if Salamence reached Champion level—
Ryuu would be an Elite Trainer with a Champion-tier ace.
That would put him among the strongest new-generation Trainers in the region.
Daiki's expression turned serious.
"This settles it," he said, already reaching for his phone.
"I'm calling Father. He needs to know about this."
Sumire nodded in agreement.
"Yes, Ryuu's potential is too high—we need father-in-law's full support," she said firmly.
Ryuu didn't object.
If his grandfather, Fujiwara Kiyoshi, got involved, his path to becoming a top-tier Trainer would become much smoother.

The Next Morning
Before the sun had even risen, Daiki stormed into Ryuu's room.
"Wake up!" he said, yanking the blanket away.
Ryuu groaned.
"Seriously…? It's barely five in the morning…"
Daiki smirked.
"Yeah? Well, your grandfather is on his way. You'd better get up and look sharp."
At that, Ryuu sat up.
Fujiwara Kiyoshi wasn't someone you could slack off around.
He quickly got dressed, washed up, and went to the living room, where Sumire was already making tea.
Just as he sat down—
A booming voice came from outside.
"Grandson, I'm here!"
Ryuu flinched.
He loved his grandfather, but did he have to be this loud?
Kiyoshi entered the gym with his usual presence, completely ignoring Daiki and Sumire as he walked straight toward Ryuu.
With a broad grin, he clapped a heavy hand onto Ryuu's shoulder.
"Good! You're awake! A Trainer should always be ready!"
Ryuu winced.
"Ow—Grandpa, that hurts…"
Kiyoshi laughed.
"Bah! You'll need to be tougher than that if you want to surpass me!"
Daiki sighed from the side.
"Father, are you only here for Ryuu, or did you forget you had a son?"
Kiyoshi waved a hand dismissively.
"You? You're already an Elite level trainer—what's there to talk about?"
Daiki: "…"
Sumire chuckled.
Ryuu smirked.
Even at his age, his grandfather was still as energetic as ever.
But now, it was time for the real reason Kiyoshi came—
To personally evaluate Ryuu's Pokémon.
