Pokemon: My Fate System Is Too Overpowered!!

Chapter 40: Chapter 39: The New Semester Begins – Ryuu’s Pokémon Levels

In the blink of an eye, the new semester had arrived.

Early in the morning, Ryuu put on a fresh set of clothes, preparing to start school with a new look.

As the protagonist, a reincarnator, and someone blessed by the system, today marked the beginning of a new chapter in his journey.

He had to make an impression.

"Ryuu, breakfast is ready! You need to eat before heading to school," his mother, Fujiwara Sumire, called out from the dining room.

"Coming!"

There was a saying—a warrior's body can be broken, blood can be spilled, but the hairstyle must remain flawless.

Since today was the first day back, Ryuu had to look his best. He wasn't just going to school—he was going to leave an impact.

After making sure his hair was perfect, he washed his face and headed to the dining table.

His father, Fujiwara Daiki, was already there, humming a tune while casually flipping through a newspaper.

Ever since discovering Ryuu's immense potential—his ability to reach the Elite level, and possibly even the Champion level—Daiki had been in a fantastic mood.

Ryuu himself was feeling pretty good.

Over the course of the holiday, his strength had skyrocketed.

He now had three powerful Pokémon, all of whom had reached at least Elite level, with two of them already at Gym level.

This wasn't normal growth—this was the progress of a prodigy.

In last year's National Entrance Exams, even the strongest champion had only reached Gym level.

Ryuu still had a few months before his own exams, and at this rate, surpassing Gym level was guaranteed.

As of now, his Pokémon were at the following levels:

[Shelgon – Level 40]

[Frogadier – Level 35]

[Aron – Level 26]

Shelgon's potential as a future Champion was undeniable.

Paired with the high-quality Perfect Seiryu Energy Cubes, its growth had been exceptional.

It had only been half a month since its last evolution, yet it had already reached the peak of Gym level.

Just one more step, and it would enter the Quasi-Elite tier—the realm of true powerhouses.

Elite level was manageable for most students, but Gym level was a significant hurdle that eliminated many trainers from progressing further.

Even fewer could step into Quasi-Elite.

For example, Ryo, the idiot who tried to ambush Ryuu, had been stuck at Gym level for years, failing to advance even as he neared his 30s.

Meanwhile, Frogadier and Aron—despite having lower base stats than Shelgon—were also progressing well.

Though slightly behind, their growth was still far beyond the norm.

"Mom, I'm done eating! I'm heading out."

Ryuu barely took a few bites before grabbing his backpack and rushing out the door.

He couldn't wait to return to school and show off.

After all, what was the point of power and success if you didn't make sure everyone knew about it?

Outside, Shindou Aio was already waiting for him.

She had always walked to school with Ryuu, and today was no exception.

"Ryuu, ready to go?"

Aio smiled brightly, her hands tucked behind her back as she greeted him.

"Yeah, let's go."

Ryuu casually took Aio's hand, leading the way to school.

Her fingers trembled slightly, but in the end, she didn't pull away.

By the time they arrived, the school was already bustling with students.

Groups of first and second-year students gathered in twos and threes, chatting about their Pokémon.

For them, classes were still focused on theory, survival training, and Pokémon knowledge.

Only on Fridays were they allowed to participate in school-sanctioned Pokémon battles.

However, for third-years, everything was different.

By now, every student had their own Pokémon, and after an entire holiday of training, their progress was on full display.

The moment Ryuu stepped onto campus, his classmates from Class 1 swarmed him.

"Yo, Ryuu! You finally made it!"

"Ryuu, did you get any new Pokémon?"

As the most popular guy in school, he naturally attracted a lot of attention.

Some genuinely admired him.

Some were simply curious.

And some? They were just waiting for an opportunity to drag him down.

If Ryuu had slacked off during the break, they would immediately take the chance to mock him.

But if he had grown stronger, they'd just switch to sucking up instead.

Ryuu knew their game all too well.

He smirked. "Yeah, I've got three Pokémon now."

The crowd froze.

"Three? That's it?"

"That's kinda weak, man. I already have four Pokémon!"

"Pffft, only four? I've got six now!"

Some of the students began bragging about their numbers, acting like they had already surpassed him.

Three Pokémon in total? That wasn't impressive at all.

Even average students had at least four or five by now.

They expected Ryuu to feel embarrassed.

Instead, he just smiled.

He was about to shut them all up.

"You guys seem pretty proud of your numbers," Ryuu said casually.

"But let me ask… how many of your Pokémon are actually rare?"

The students hesitated.

Most of them had common Pokémon—Rattata, Sentret, Hoothoot, maybe a few early-game evolution lines.

Nothing particularly impressive.

Then Ryuu dropped the bombshell.

"I have an Aron."

Silence.

The entire group froze on the spot.

Their earlier confidence? Gone.

Their excitement? Shattered.

An Aron?

That was a top-tier Pokémon—far rarer and stronger than anything they had.

Even the Starter Pokémon that some of them had couldn't compare.

They could buy a Starter Pokémon if they had enough money.

But an Aron?

Even if they had the money, they couldn't find one.

Seeing their stunned faces, Ryuu grinned.

For a brief moment, he considered revealing that he also had a Shelgon—a quasi-legendary Pokémon.

But then he decided against it.

There was no need to rush.

They would find out soon enough.

After all, once the school battles began, his strength would be undeniable.

"Let's go, Aio," Ryuu said, grabbing her hand and heading toward the classroom.

As he walked away, he could feel the jealous stares burning into his back.

Their minds raced with frustration.

"Why does Ryuu get to have an Aron…?"

"We're all students, so why is the gap between us so big…?"

Some clenched their fists in envy.

Others simply sighed in defeat.

The difference between Ryuu and them was simple—

They were just ordinary students.

But he?

He was built different.
