Chapter 105: Chapter 106: Pikachu's Change
As the cliff was destroyed, the lighthouse vanished, leaving Bill with nowhere to go. The three of them decided to invite Bill to their camp to rest. The research data was estimated to be lost.
"It's okay!" Bill smiled confidently, pointing to his head. "All the information is stored right here, nothing's lost."
"Sure enough… this is a genius," Brock couldn't help but sigh. "If I had that kind of memory, I wouldn't need to take notes so often."
Taking out the spare tent for Bill, Brock began preparing supper for everyone. Meanwhile, Ash gently put Pikachu, who had passed out, into the tent to rest.
"Pikachu, are you alright?" Misty asked, sitting next to him, looking at Pikachu's exhaustion with concern.
"No problem. It's just that he used up too much energy. He needs rest and some food to replenish his strength tomorrow," Ash reassured, patting Pikachu's head.
The two left the tent quietly and moved to the fire where Bill was sitting, watching Brock cook.
After checking on Pikachu's condition, Bill couldn't contain his curiosity any longer. "Ash, I saw Pikachu use a move earlier. If I remember correctly, that move… I've never seen it before."
Although Bill was curious about the secrets Ash was hiding, he had enough emotional intelligence to avoid prying too much. Instead, he chose to ask about the move Pikachu had used.
"That... is a new move Pikachu and I developed together," Ash said, unwilling to reveal the truth about the inheritance. He had to lie for now.
"A new move?!" Brock and Misty were both startled by Ash's words. Bill, however, looked thoughtful. Ash's words seemed believable, but Bill sensed there was more to the story. Yet, he decided not to press further.
"What's the name of this new move? And it looked really powerful!" Misty asked eagerly. After seeing the strength of the giant Dragonite earlier, she was even more excited about Pikachu's new move. It had to be something extraordinary.
"The name of the new move is 'Calling Thunder Ball,'" Ash explained, not hiding anything. After all, Pikachu would need to use this move again in the future, so he spoke openly.
"Summoning Lightning Bomb… What's the effect?" Brock asked, recalling the earlier incident. He was trying to piece together the details.
"This is a complicated move," Ash began, trying to explain without revealing too much. "Originally, I wanted to develop a weather-type move, like Sunny Day, Rain, Hail, etc."
"So it's a weather-type move?" Brock asked, slightly confused.
"No... It is indeed related to weather, but it's far more powerful than other weather-based moves," Ash clarified, trying to maintain the illusion. "The idea behind it is to use Thunder's power to condense lightning in the sky. Then, it locks onto the opponent, and when the opponent launches an attack, the lightning splits and strikes the target."
Brock thought for a moment before asking, "Isn't that more like an attack than a weather-based move?"
"Not exactly," Bill interrupted, shaking his head. "This is a weather-type move, but it's much stronger than any normal weather effect. Maybe we could call this new weather 'thunderstorm' weather."
"But there should be more to it than just the weather effect, right?" Bill added, looking at Ash with curiosity, as both Brock and Misty turned their attention to Ash.
"Yeah…" Ash nodded. "In addition to the weather effect, there's a field effect too. But I'm not sure what that effect is exactly. It might be Electric Terrain, but it could also be something new."
"A field effect too? That's a powerful move," Brock marveled. His respect for Ash grew even more. "No wonder I made the right choice traveling with you."
"It's amazing," Misty added, her admiration for Ash shining through. Her ideal person was clearly someone very different from others!
Bill closed his eyes briefly, deep in thought.
After witnessing the lightning bomb hit the giant Dragonite earlier, he noticed the electric arcs on the ocean surface seemed to have no impact on the Dragonite. He couldn't figure out the exact effect right now, but he hoped that once Pikachu woke up, they could test the move again, allowing him to understand its full effect.
After dinner, everyone quickly cleaned up and went to their tents to rest. After checking on Pikachu, Ash and Brock eventually fell asleep.
"Sure enough… it's a power that doesn't belong to this world…" A figure in a distorted and chaotic space slowly opened its eyes, as though it was passing through dimensions.
It had felt the mysterious power again—power related to the law of thunder and lightning. This power occupied a very high position in the law itself. Despite holding the Zap Plate, which represented the highest power, it realized that it was only comparable to this new force.
The Zap Plate was the embodiment of the law from the birth of the world…
"But… it's not a bad thing…" The figure sighed and fell back into a deep slumber. It had lost far too much power and needed rest to fully recover.
The next morning, Ash woke up early and immediately checked on Pikachu. Seeing that Pikachu was still asleep, he felt a little relieved. Using the system's abilities, Ash observed Pikachu's condition.
Pikachu's attributes were still the same as the day before—elite level strength—but Ash could feel the unblocking of the Summoning Thunder Ball move was accelerating Pikachu's integration of the inheritance.
Pikachu was continuously being strengthened, not just in raw strength, but also in terms of its Species Strength. The growth speed was unparalleled, like a transmission had been turned on.
At this rate, Ash believed that it wouldn't be long before Pikachu broke through the elite level, reaching a higher gym level. Perhaps before the Indigo Plateau Conference, Pikachu would surpass even that and reach the Alliance level!
"It's unbelievable how fast Pikachu is improving…" Ash muttered, his eyes on Pikachu. The inheritance from Osiris' Soaring Sky Dragon was truly powerful. The entity was, without a doubt, one of the three legendary gods in the world of
