Chapter 119: Just a Video Recording
After lunch, Asahi returned to the basement with Gardevoir and Green, only to be greeted by Sabrina's sharp glare.
Before he could say anything, her stomach let out another loud grumble.
Sabrina's face turned crimson with embarrassment.
It was only then that Asahi realized—he had forgotten to have Indeedee prepare a meal for her.
To be fair, it wasn't entirely his fault.
Back when he was a park ranger, and later as an International Police officer, handling prisoners had never been his responsibility—Officer Jenny or Lance's people usually took care of it.
This was the first time he had actually detained someone himself.
But now, the Indeedee were all napping, and waking them up just to prepare lunch for Sabrina seemed unnecessary.
After thinking for a moment, Asahi pulled two Pokéblocks from his bag.
"Here, you can eat these for now."
Sabrina recognized them immediately. She had even bought Devon Corporation's latest premium edition for her Alakazam.
But seeing Asahi casually offering them to her as if she were a Pokémon… she felt utterly humiliated.
She wanted to refuse outright.
But…
The delicious scent of the Pokéblocks wafted into her nose, and the words of rejection stuck in her throat.
Before she knew it, Asahi had already popped one into her mouth, his fingers brushing lightly against her lips.
Before she could react, the Pokéblock dissolved instantly on her tongue, turning into a surge of warmth that spread through her body.
The sensation was so overwhelming that she involuntarily let out a strange noise, her face flushing deep red, her eyes turning hazy.
Green, watching this unfold, was completely stunned.
"Asahi… what did you just feed her? It's not something… weird, right?"
She eyed the remaining Pokéblock in his hand with suspicion.
She knew Asahi made his own Pokéblocks, but she did not know he made ones that had this kind of effect!
Asahi looked just as baffled.
"Huh? That was just a Pokéblock… Hold on."
Glancing at the remaining one, he suddenly realized.
"Ah. Oops. Wrong batch. That was meant for my Lugia."
Since his baby Lugia was still growing, he often prepared special nutrient-rich Pokéblocks for it. He must have absentmindedly grabbed one of those instead.
Sabrina didn't say a word.
She was too busy trying to suppress the lingering heat coursing through her body, determined not to show any more weakness.
Asahi, still puzzled, muttered, "Is it really that intense? You're not faking it, are you? Green, why don't you try one?"
Green immediately shook her head.
Absolutely not.
It took Sabrina ten full minutes to recover. When she finally did, she sat limp in her chair, her face still tinged with redness.
"Fine. I'll be a double agent. Just stop tormenting me."
Asahi blinked. "…Torment? When did I ever torment you? I'm an upstanding officer of the law. Accusing me of such things is slander."
Sabrina: "….."
She had nothing left to say.
Sabrina glanced at the special Pokéblock in Asahi's hand, swallowed back all the words she wanted to say, and instead forced out a single sentence:
"I'll be a double agent. Now can you at least unbind me?"
Originally, she had planned to negotiate some terms with Asahi.
But now, she just wanted to end this ordeal as soon as possible. If this continued, she would lose all dignity.
Hearing Sabrina's decision, Asahi turned to Green and gave her a knowing look—as if saying, See? Told you so.
Then, he turned back to Sabrina. "Of course… not."
Sabrina: "….."
She felt an overwhelming sense of despair.
Was this some kind of divine punishment for joining Team Rocket?
Had fate sent Asahi to torment her?
She clenched her fists, took a deep breath, and spoke again. "Fine. Ask what you want. I'll tell you everything I know."
"Good."
Satisfied with her cooperation, Asahi pulled out a piece of paper and began his questioning.
"First question—how many Team Rocket bases are in Saffron City, and where are they?"
"Two. One is in an abandoned factory on the outskirts, the other is in a bar downtown. The location is…"
As Sabrina listed the locations, Asahi was speechless.
The first one in the abandoned factory was understandable.
But the second one…?
"Wait, the bar? Isn't that just one street away from the Saffron Police Department?!"
They had a base practically under the League's nose, and no one had noticed?!
"Where is Sird now?"
"She originally wanted to recover at Saffron Gym, but I kicked her out. I don't know where she is now."
Gardevoir, who was monitoring Sabrina's mental state, telepathically confirmed that she wasn't lying.
"Were you responsible for erasing the memories of the League investigators at Silph Co.?"
"That wasn't me. And it had nothing to do with Team Rocket. I know you probably won't believe that, but even I found it strange…" Sabrina explained.
"No, I believe you." Asahi nodded.
For one, Sabrina had already leaked so much classified Team Rocket intel—there was no reason for her to lie about this.
And two, he trusted Gardevoir's lie-detecting ability.
"The Silph Co.?"
If what Sabrina said was true, then there was only one possible suspect left…
Asahi made a mental note of this information, then turned to Sabrina. "Thank you for your cooperation. You've proven your sincerity."
"However, after being a Rocket Executive for so many years, suddenly switching sides to become an undercover agent for us… we need some insurance to make sure you don't betray us again."
Hearing this, Sabrina's eyes lit up. She was finally about to be released from this ordeal.
"What kind of insurance?"
"Oh, just a simple video recording! Don't worry, it's easy—should take only about half an hour." Asahi said casually while pulling a camcorder from his backpack. "Oh, and remember to put on your uniform."
Sabrina: "???"
