Possessive crush

Chapter 4: Chapter 3

Red as a beet, I flee with my eyes in all directions just to avoid seeing Felix's face. At this point, I feel like shooting myself in the head. I have to come up with a good lie to get out of this; otherwise, I'm finished.

What should I do? What will be a good explanation?

- May I take a peek at this piece of paper? - I ask unexpectedly, to which he raises an eyebrow and hands it to me. I trace the text with my eyes, feeling my ears burning.

This is the most sensual, erotic scene I spent the most time on! While writing it I was so dreamy that I drifted off to another world, literally a fantasy world.

I grunt nervously and, despite the difficulty, look him in the eye, wanting to get out of it at all costs.

- I have no idea why someone used my name in this story, but I see it for the first time with my eyes.

My former crush, already, curls his lips in a slight smile.

- Why would someone use our names in a story?

- Forgive me for interfering, but I suspect it is mine. - Eve snatches the piece of paper from my hand and looks dispassionately at Felix, shrugging her shoulders. - I've been bored lately, and since I've been practicing writing for a contest, I used your name because you're the most popular in school. Selena is my friend, so it was easier for me to imagine.

Felix looks at the blonde as if she, at the very least, came from outer space, then shifts his gaze to me.

- Do you let her do it?

- I didn't even know she was writing such stories about me," I lie, blushing again. With panicked eyes, I look at Eve, letting her know to help me to the very end.

- Don't look at me like that. I don't know how that piece of paper ended up in his hands," she turns to me, resting her hands on her hips. - You were never supposed to know about it.

I am so ashamed that I can't look at him. I want him to swallow this lie and just go away already.

- It so happened that while walking down the sidewalk I got hit in the face with this piece of paper," he claims, and I open my eyes wider, wondering if I am that unlucky. - I don't wish you to use my name in your stories," he turns to my friend in a much cooler tone. He glances at me fleetingly, making me swallow my saliva harder. - You shouldn't let her do it, either. These are not sweet romantic scenes.

He walks away, and then I let the air out of my mouth. I put my hand to my chest and focus my gaze on Eve. I am grateful to her for protecting me by taking all the blame.

- You are the best friend under the sun," I say to her, but she continues to watch Felix, additionally tilting her head. - What about you?

- I wonder what he means.... - The 16-year-old squints her eyes and bites her finger. - When he thought it was you, he looked amused and was even pleased? And when he found out that it was me, I got the impression that he wanted to kill me.

- He just had a laugh with me. I am so stupid that I wrote my name in the dialogue. What a shame," I say, slapping my forehead with my palm.

- Stupider is the fact that you tore up the story notebook and the pages were flying all over the place. I guess some good spirit wants to hook you guys up, since Felix got hit in the face with a piece of paper with an erotic scene.

I look at her with indignation in my eyes.

- You're right it wasn't smart on my part, but it was definitely not the work of a good spirit but a malicious one who wanted to plunge me in his eyes.

A blonde woman puts her arm around me.

- Maybe he was actually jealous of you yesterday? What if you are his crush?

- Stop making fun of yourself. Just now, I almost sank to the ground from embarrassment. If it wasn't for you.... I would have died here.

Eve is not about to let go.

- You are beautiful. In my opinion, you are the prettiest girl in school, so there is a chance that a star is flying to you.

- In the evening you said that it was impossible, that it is more likely that Felix is gay and flies to his buddy. Don't give me crap now," I reply, offended. - I love you for helping me, so don't piss me off now if you want my love for you to remain strong.

The friend smiles broadly.

- I don't know what you would do without me....

- I remind you that half of the problems are caused by you.

- It is necessary to find out what Felix thinks about you. It doesn't give me a break. - Eve puts her finger to her lips - It's all very strange.

*

The lesson is so tedious that I will fall asleep if there is no bell in a while. Whenever I check my watch, it seems to me that the hands are standing still. I feel like going to truancy and firing up Netflix at home, watching my favorite series with a mug in my hand.

- Daddy will drive up to me on this break.

- What for? - I ask, resting my chin on my hand.

- I didn't take my math notebook. The teacher is going to strangle me, because this will be the umpteenth time in a row.

- Sometimes I feel like we are still in elementary school.

A firm thump on our chairs is a warning that we are to be quiet.

- Will you guys ever shut your mouths?

Our class terror gets Eve's attention again. The blonde turns to face her and sends her a kiss.

- Would you like to flirt with us? I am open to all suggestions.

- Do you think if I knock you down, you'll at least wise up a little? - Hannah does not give up. - If you are not interested in the lesson, then go to bed and let others rest.

- Seriously... what do you do all nights that you sleep it off during the day?

- I worship Satan to bring you hell. - And again closes the mouth of my friend, who only snorts under her breath and turns to face the board.

I stifle laughter inside, loving to hear them tease each other.

- It is impossible to have a normal conversation with this girl. I don't know where so much venom comes from in her.

- At least no one will get into her head. These days, you have to spit venom to get away with it.

The end-of-class bell is my salvation. I watch my friend, who screams in a run to find me, then leaves the classroom to pick up her notebook from her dad waiting for her in front of the school gate.

I feel sorry for her parents. They can't rest from her having a day off.

- Are you happy to hear from this wuss? - I roll my eyes as Sebastian keeps pace with me, wanting to turn my long break into a nightmare. - Isn't this the dream of every girl in our school?

I stop halfway up the stairs and turn to face him, driving a cool gaze into him.

- This did not make me happy in any way. I would have preferred that he still did not know of my existence.

Sebastian snorts under his breath.

- Yeah, right. If it didn't move you, you wouldn't be blushing like a chamomile. - I furrow my brow, wondering what he's talking about. His comparisons don't make any sense. - I saw perfectly well that your heart nearly exploded! - He presses his finger against my chest, for which he gets a slap from me.

- Paws at your side! - I warn him, and he grunts nervously, putting his hand in his hair.

- Then don't give me crap that you weren't excited," he defends himself.

- What right do you have to attack me? What does it matter to you how I felt?

I can see that he is confused.

- I just... I don't want you to get your hopes up at all. He's a school star, all the chicks go for him and....

- It's sweet that you're a classmate who cares about my feelings, but I have my wits about me. - I pat him on the shoulder, then walk down to the second floor to go to the cafeteria.

*

I look at my friend suspiciously as she returns to me at the very end of a long break. I don't know where she's been or what she's been doing, but she hasn't even had time to eat her second breakfast.

There are five minutes left until the bell rings, so I'm going to interrogate her, but she purposely clogs her mouth with a banana, chewing it carefully so as not to choke.

- You are hiding something from me. I know you inside out, Eve.

The blonde makes big eyes and points to her full face with her finger, letting me know that she can't talk now.

Sebastian walks past us as if we were air. I think he is still confused by the words I said to him at the beginning of the break.

- Did your dad bring you a notebook? Are you prepared for math? - She nods in response. - Eat that banana faster. I want to talk to you, since you can't say a word at math.

Her cheeks are stuffed with the fruit, it seems to me that she is purposely still chewing it in her mouth, wanting to avoid answering the questions I ask.

- People! Great news! - I shift my gaze to the class president, who is heading in our direction. - Baba Yaga got sick and we are now starting physical education.

Two hours of PE. I'm not smiling at all. I'm lazy today.

It seems to me that everyone is excited except me. I would already rather sit in math than sweat playing two-a-side.

- Let's go! Run! - turns to me, my friend when she finally swallows that banana. She pulls me by the hand, and we hurriedly head to the gymnasium.

She has something on her conscience. I'm sure she does. She always behaves like this when she does something without my permission.

I nearly have a heart attack when we head to the locker room and find that we have physical education with an older class. It wouldn't be terrible if it weren't for the fact that Felix is from that class.

Not long ago, I would have jumped with happiness, but not now.

- Eve, what do you say we go truant? - I suggest to my friend, but she pretends not to hear it at all. - Eve?

- Don't lead me down the wrong path. I'm not going to worry about absences later. P.E. is cool.

I change my clothes with a frowning face, and my movements are so slow that everyone has managed to leave, I'm the only one who gets buried.

- Hurry... you won't persuade me to play truant. - The blonde crosses her arms on her chest. - You should be happy that you have P.E. with Felix.

I snort under my breath.

- After what's been going on lately? If I was still invisible to him, then yes. Not in this situation.

Eve shakes her head, then leaves the locker room, not intending to wait for me any longer. A moment later, I run after her, not wanting to be the only one late, but someone grabs my arm and pulls me back. Crouched against the wall, I stare wide-eyed at the 18-year-old's face, not understanding what is happening.

With one hand, he holds my wrist, while the other rests against the wall just above my head.

This shouldn't happen, but I feel like my heart is about to explode. At this point, we are the only people, located in front of the gymnasium.

- Why didn't I find out earlier that you were interested in me, Selena Wasley?

- What," I exclaim with difficulty, feeling that I am beginning to run out of air.

He leans over my face even more, and such currents pass through me that I will undoubtedly shock him shortly.

- The second time, you won't give me the crap that it's your friend who writes stories about us.

I don't know what's going on. I never thought the day would come when I would be harassed by Felix. Until now, I could only dream about it.

- That job really belonged to Eve," I defend myself.

- Yes? So the notebook with the finished story about us is also her work? - he asks in an amused voice, and I blush up to my ears. - This notebook is signed with your name, so you won't fool me again, Selena Wasley. I took the time to review it.

I'm breathless. I'm about to score a death.

- What are you talking about? What notebook are you talking about?

I know perfectly well what he is talking about. I'm really going to kill Eve. For several months, she had been keeping a notebook at home with the first story I wrote, which I let her read. That nasty monkey asked my dad to bring that notebook to her at school, because that's how she wanted to find out what Felix's intentions were toward me.

- I don't know if it's magic, but by some mysterious means, twenty minutes ago, I found this notebook in my backpack.

- I'm sure it's a misunderstanding....

- I'd rather it wasn't a misunderstanding, because you've been in my thoughts since elementary school, Selena Wasley.

Ok. This is something I was totally not expecting.

Am I on a hidden camera?
