Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 90: The Art Of Scheming

"Repeat what you just said," Daisy Ashland commanded, addressing a young man who was on all fours on the ground. He was one of their spies and informants.

"My Lady, my Lord, the guards sent to Mokasa Prison are all dead, and the package has been taken away," the man said, praying Dave Ashland wouldn't lose his temper and kill him.

Three days ago, when Daisy received news of Kent looking for Li Hua, she devised a plan she believed to be foolproof. The plan was perfect, but she failed to account for Kent's strength.

It seemed she didn't know Kent's true power, and so she and the guards underestimated him. But the outcome had already been determined three days ago.

They just received this report because they never expected their side to lose. For the past two days, they had waited for updates. However, even after 48 hours with no say from the prison, they sent one of their spies.

The information they were now receiving caused Dave Ashland's aura to fill the room. The spy would have long suffocated had he not being a Root Saint at the 7th level.

"What happened?" Daisy asked.

"It seems they fought whoever came for the package, and they all died. The only thing I saw was headless bodies," the spy replied immediately.

"How many dead bodies did you count?" Daisy asked again. Unlike Dave, she maintained a clear mind despite the nagging feeling of unease striking her like a hidden attack.

"I counted 171 bodies, my lady," the spy replied.

"Is that all?" Daisy asked, expecting more.

"Yes. I saw this mask beside one of the bodies," the spy said, taking out a black mask. The moment Daisy saw the mask, her expression darkened for a moment before brightening again.

"Hand it over."

The spy obeyed and gave her the mask.

"You may leave. You have done well."

The spy wasted no time and disappeared from sight. The pressure in the room was too much for him to endure.

It was only after he left that Dave stopped exerting his aura. Unlike Daisy, who remained relatively calm, he was more agitated and angry about the unexpected events that had happened lately.

"Hahaha!" Daisy burst into resounding laughter as she appraised the mask in her hand.

"What is it, Daisy?" Dave asked, looking at his wife strangely.

"Nothing much. However, I think the dark-robed lady has been killed, and this is proof. Do you know what this means?"

"Enlighten me, dear." Dave was clueless. Unlike the scheming Daisy, He didn't have a good head on his shoulders.

Thankfully, he had Daisy to rely on.

"This mask belonged to the Lady from the Dark Devil Church. This means she is dead, and we are free of her. It also means we can move ahead and contact the church on our own volition. But that's not even the best part," Daisy said, a smile forming as she watched the lost look on Dave's face.

"Since the Alchemist and his master won't be able to challenge us directly, since doing so would go against the kingdom. It means we have some time on our hands. They can't do anything for now despite his master being a Sword Saintess.

Even if he wants to act, he wouldn't be able to target us directly. Instead of attacking us outright, he'll continue to bide his time, waiting to find something that can destroy our reputation.

But, of course, we all know they won't. Even though they caught our spy, she wouldn't say anything. And even if she does, it's not like she knows anything critical.

The Alchemist and his master, along with the Alderford family, cannot do anything to us. But we have an opportunity to strike at them using foreign forces.

With this mask, we can pit the Dark Devil Church against that brat and let them handle him. We shouldn't strike directly—it would only result in senseless deaths.

We'll let the Dark Devil Church take care of things from here. I know for a fact that even with a Peak Root Sage guarding him, he wouldn't survive against the Church.

We might lose the Atomic Divine Body, but fostering a good relationship with the Church will benefit us far more in the long run."

"That is genius. With this, we can strike three birds with one stone. But the question is, how sure are we that they haven't discovered anything from Olive?" Dave asked.

Olive, the spy they had planted inside the Alderford Family, was one of his concubines. He was using her to gather intel, but Kent exposed her. She was a weak point on their part.

"That is because the Honey Bastard John is in love with her, and I doubt he will torture her for information. He might kill her to cover his own affairs and mistakes. But even if he doesn't care about her too much, Olive only knows up to the Spirit Root incident.

And it's not like many know about the Makosa prison and its ties to us. So, if anything, they will be expecting us to do something that proves we are in cahoots with the Makosa prison and the kidnapping of the Atomic Divine Body."

"I see. This is good then. Although the bitch betrayed me by sleeping with another man, she has served her purpose." Dave looked mad, but he had to compromise.

"What should we do now?" Daisy asked.

"Right now, we keep our distance from the Alderford Family and make sure we don't do anything stupid to give them a reason to link the recent events to us.

Since they can't outright challenge us to a war, we can only wait for the heat to die down. It will be best to target only that brat and forget about the Alderford Family.

I will also contact our secret army to make their way here in the next few days. Since they don't have any evidence yet, we can only be on guard and wait for anything to happen."

"What about the Dark Devil Church?" Dave asked.

"They will come. I am sure they know of our connection to that bitch, so they will come. When they do, we just have to throw everything onto the Saintess and her disciple."

"That is smart, sweetheart," Dave said, smiling. He had accepted the fact that soon, he would become the king of the land and rule with an iron fist while claiming all the ladies for himself.

He was in full support of Daisy's schemes.

"I will order my men to go clear the prison to get rid of the evidence," Dave said, standing up.

"No. Go there personally and make sure you chop the lady into chunks. Just make sure she is recognizable, but violate her body.

We need something that will make the Dark Devil Church tick. Finding the body of their fellow member violated that way will make them very mad.

We need them mad to take care of our foes. So do it well. No... take me with you. I want to be there to instruct you on what to do and what not to do."

Soon, the scheming wife and husband left to create a trap that will make some people very mad in the coming days.
