Chapter 386: Types of Tribulation

Bing Rong turned her head and looked at Shen Yuan. "Hmm… There are a lot of different tribulations. Normal Tribulation, Elemental Tribulation, Myriad Beast Tribulation, Weapon Tribulation, Yin-Yang Tribulation, and many more. It mostly depends on what kind of potential a person has, and the Heavens give a trial based on that."

Shen Yuan rubbed his chin and glanced at Ling Yue. "Hmm, so her potential is not quite high since she got an Elemental Tribulation?"

"Yes," Bing Rong nodded her head. "She should be able to reach at least the Nascent Soul Stage, but anything higher will depend on herself."

He nodded, listening to her while his mind went back to his tribulation. It was nothing like the one Ling Yue went through. There was no nurturing energy or any love from heaven. 'Old bitch heaven, I will take care of you later.'

Both Shen Yuan and Bing Rong continued chatting until Bing Rong raised an eyebrow and said, "Looks like those guys are returning, but they are looking around to find you."

Shen Yuan raised his head. Since he didn't have his Divine Sense yet, which was an ability exclusive to the Nascent Soul Stage, he couldn't find out what was going on outside the massive ship.

"Big Sis, did you unlock your Divine Sense already?" he curiously asked.

Bing Rong softly giggled and shook her head. "No, not yet. I know of their arrival due to my superior senses."

Shen Yuan nodded his head and didn't ask further questions as he willed the ship's formation to disperse. He had already refined the ship, so he had total control over all its formations.

A faint shimmer rippled across the air around the flying ship, then vanished entirely. The once-invisible ship reappeared—now plainly visible against the sky.

Bing Rong stepped to the window. Through the clear panel, she observed several dozen silhouettes below, fast approaching. Stay connected via My Virtual Library Empire

Each figure moved without exuding any aura. But none of them could hide from Bing Rong's sharp senses. It was the Grand Elder's team returning.

"Looks like they've wrapped up the task you sent them on," Bing Rong said.

Shen Yuan nodded. "They did it faster than I had anticipated." He rose from the chair, moving to check on Ling Yue, who remained unconscious on the bed.

Her breathing had calmed down by now, and all the wounds from the tribulation had healed after Shen Yuan had fed her a King Grade healing pill. Together with the nourishing energies from the tribulation, she was rapidly improving.

Satisfied with her stable condition, Shen Yuan turned to Bing Rong. "Let's go pick them up. If the Grand Elder has completed their mission, we can leave this region right away."

Bing Rong agreed. They exited the room together, stepping towards the deck of the ship. A gentle breeze stirred as Shen Yuan guided the flying ship downward until it hovered just a few meters above the ground.

Moments later, the Grand Elder emerged from among the trees, flanked by about fifty disciples. Their clothes and armor bore fresh signs of battle—blood spattered all over their clothes. But none of it was theirs, as they had far surpassed the power of their enemies.

As soon as the assassin group spotted the reappearing ship, they dashed towards it. The Grand Elder flew above the ship while the rest of the members respectfully stood below on the ground.

As soon as the Grand Elder stepped on the deck of the ship, she gave Shen Yuan a respectful bow. "Young Master," she said, her voice filled with excitement, which made even her face ruddy. "We've finished sweeping through the Crimson Wolf Clan's allied hideouts. They're… gone. Not a soul remains."

Shen Yuan's expression remained calm. He nodded his head in approval. "Well done. Any complications?"

The Grand Elder shook her head. "None worth mentioning. They were scattered and in disarray, easy to eliminate. We took anything valuable—manuals, pills, spirit stones."

She patted her storage ring before removing it and offering it to Shen Yuan. "Here are the spoils of our war, Young Master."

Shen Yuan shook his head and refused. "Keep them for the new disciples, and if you find something interesting or unknown among all those treasures, then give it to me."

The Grand Elder nodded her head. She knew these low-quality treasures wouldn't catch the eyes of someone who could arm an entire elite squad with King Grade equipment.

Bing Rong raised an eyebrow. "So you thoroughly wiped out any strongholds that might house survivors?"

"Yes," the Grand Elder replied, her gaze shifting to Bing Rong. "We confirmed none remain. Some city lords were affiliated with them, so we also removed those who might become troublesome. No innocent civilians were harmed, though."

Shen Yuan glanced over the railing at the disciples below, verifying the mission's success. "Good. With that, all loose ends concerning the Crimson Wolf Clan are done." He paused. "Have any of you sustained severe injuries?"

The Grand Elder softly giggled. "If any of us were injured, then we would be too ashamed to face you, Young Master. Most of our enemies were not even in the Dao Core Forming Realm. While each and every one of us is at the Peak of the Dao Core Forming Realm."

Shen Yuan chuckled and nodded his head. "Excellent," he said to the Grand Elder. "Have your people enter the Pagoda. We will shortly leave this place."

The Grand Elder's expression turned a little hesitant. "Uh, Young Master, there are quite a few disciples who can't stop their breakthroughs for much longer."

Shen Yuan's eyes flashed with realization. "Ah, I forgot about them. Hmm, for now, enter the Pagoda. I will bring you all somewhere for breakthroughs. This place is no longer peaceful after Ling Yue went through her tribulation."

The Grand Elder's eyes widened in pleasant surprise. "Ancestor already went through the tribulation??"

Shen Yuan nodded his head. "Yes, and she successfully passed it as well. Anyways, for now, go ahead into the Pagoda. You guys don't have much time."

He said, looking at the multiple disciples whose surrounding air cracked from the over-accumulation of Qi, a clear sign that their maximum potential had been reached, and they couldn't accumulate any more Qi.

The Grand Elder nodded her head before signaling to the disciples to get ready to enter the Pagoda.

Shen Yuan lifted his hand and connected his Will with the Ancestral Pagoda inside his dantian. A shimmering oval portal—about three meters tall—formed at the center of the ship's deck. Its surface rippled like liquid glass.

"All of you, head inside," Shen Yuan loudly said. "Those whose breakthroughs are pressing can make use of the lower floors' training chambers until I relocate you. Don't attempt your tribulations in there, though. The Pagoda's trials and environment aren't designed for outside lightning tribulations."

The Grand Elder and the disciples nodded. They already knew this, as the Pagoda Spirit had told them before. One by one, all the disciples rose into the air and entered the portal.

A few disciples gave Shen Yuan shy bows or murmured thanks as they passed, grateful for his continued shelter and guidance.

Soon, the entire deck was empty, leaving only Shen Yuan and Bing Rong outside since he had sent the Grand Elder inside as well.

'Hmm, Lan'er, what do you think will happen if over a hundred people go through tribulation at once?' His face formed a crazed smile as he thought of the grand spectacle.
