Chapter 1: Julia Duncan x Cecilia Laroux: Chapter 1



North Red Mire, Silver Gate 2189 AD

A woman approaches her wife, who was sitting on the couch while holding a bottle of a beer. “I’ll go to meet Lord Duncan. You don’t have to wait for me.” she said as she coldly told her wife.

Julia looked at the woman in front of her, then sighed. “Well... it's fine...” She stood up, then went outside of their house.

“Julia!” Julia looked back with her annoyed look. “Where are you...”

“Work!” The woman in front of her furrowed her brow. Julia wore her vest uniform as she walked to the bus stop to the convenience store near her neighborhood.

“Hey... what happened to that face, huh?!” Julia dodged his slap on her head, then sighed.

She closed her locker door, then walked to the cashier to start her shift. She took out her phone to send her wife a message.

Julia gets back to work. “You look pale, are you sick?” Julia only smiled and sighed.

“Well... Mrs. Davis... this is my last day...” Julia picked up the change, then ripped off the receipt.

A notification sound can be heard from the quiet night. Julia sighed in relief that her wife agreed to meet with her in that apartment.

Flashback on

4 years ago...

“What?! Do you want me to marry my mother’s killer!?” Julia lashed out in her anger. She rubbed her face roughly, frustrated. “No... I don’t want...”

Julia’s dad, King Duncan, glared at his daughter. “How many times I told you. It was an accident! They both are a best friend!” She scoffed.

She took a deep breath and sighed. “How... you let me marry a 34-year-old woman, and I just... turned 26!?” She raised her voice.

Cecilia stood up, then looked at her coldly. “If...”

“No, Julia already bonded to marry you, Ms. Laroux.” Julia only furrowed her brow. She left them alone with anger, disappointment, and frustration.

A week later…

She looked at herself in the mirror. Wearing a tuxedo, sighed. She’s about to be married to a woman with a huge age gap. She took a deep breath, massaged her temple. “Julie, are you alright?” She smiles as she looks at her best friend, Rose.

Julia forced a smile and tapped her shoulder. “How’s your relationship with your boyfriend? Does he treat you well?” She looked deeper into her best friend's eyes.

Rose nodding her head. She showed her wedding ring on her finger. “He proposes to me...” she whispers. Julia nodded her head slightly, then sighed.

She tapped Rose's shoulders. Julia walked herself to the isle, followed by the orchestra band played her family theme song. She stood on the left side of the priest. "All the attendance... we introduced you... Cecilia Laroux.” the announcer said, followed by the sound of an orchestra band playing the Laroux theme song. She sighed and held her hand.

“I don’t know that you have a tattoo...” she whispers.

Julia scoffed and did not reply to her calculating question. “I still do not forgive about what happened. For me, you are the killer.” Julia and Cecilia only stared into each other's eyes with hatred.

As the priest read his blessing for them. They are still arguing, as if the priest’s prayer is only a background music for them. “...till the death do us part.” Said them in sync.

“Now... I pronounce you... Mrs. & Mrs. Duncan-Laroux!” All the crowd cheered for them. Little did they know that the couple, who were supposed to have loved each other, only kept a hatred inside the veil and the ring they were wearing.

Julia loosens her bowtie, then looks at her ‘wife.’ She scanned all inches of her body, then sighed. “So... let’s we... have a deal...”

Cecilia’s face remains calm and calculated. “I know you’ll never forgive me, but your mom died as hero, and it was an accident.” Julia scoffed.

She took a deep breath and sighed. Julia ignores her wife and is reluctant to acknowledge her mom passed away as a hero.

“Do you know...” Cecilia looked at her. “I want to take my own life right now, but... if I did, I let you win.”

Julia sits on the bed staring at her. “Let’s make a deal. I heard you love proposals.”

Flashback off

Julia let her wife get inside. “So... what do you want to talk about?” She crossed her arms over her chest.

“For the first time in my life... you look great. Seriously...” Cecilia raised her eyebrow. Her gaze was cold and full of calculations. Julia asked her to take a seat.

Both have a seat. “You’re working? What kind of trouble do you...”

“I’m working as civilians to fulfill my duty as your... Political tool, that’s it.” She gave Cecilia a wad of cash. Cecilia counted her earnings and sighs.

“So...”

“TFX... will attack Royalty Residence at Northern Silver Gate.” Cecilia hummed.

Her gaze flickered on Julia, then looked into her eyes. “Lord Duncan already discusses it with me earlier. So... this...”

“It’s not all.” Julia sighed. “One family from our communities was sponsoring them.” Cecilia looked at Julia. “I still investigate who is behind the act.”

Julia leaned her back on the couch, then scoffed. “It seems like you have intel?” Julia shook her head, chuckled.

“That’s the advantage of undercover...” Julia took off all her disguise on her face. She can feel her wife staring at her with pride and admiration. “Seems like... Lord Duncan pleased to meet you.”

Cecilia brushed it off, by scoffed. “Yes. We’re discussing a lot of things and you.” Cecilia takes a sip of her tea elegantly.

Julia stood up, then picked up a bottle of beer from the fridge. “I never expect anything if both of you gossip about me.” Julia chugged her beer, then put the empty bottle on the kitchen counter.

Cecilia scoffed. “He...”

“He’s expecting an heir from us?” Julia leaned on her back as she raised her brow.

“No. Duh!” Cecilia gazing into her. “What can he expect from his rebel daughter, huh? A newborn rebel?” Julia gave her scoffed.

“If... you’re not cold towards me, trust me... aunt. I’m proudly presenting you as my wife...” Julia carried Cecilia like a bridal. “You look beautiful in that outfit...”

Cecilia’s face turned red. Julia laid her body on the bed, then made herself comfortable. “I’ll sleep on the couch, if you need something, just call my name.” Julia walked to the couch, then lay her body.

She falls asleep an hour later, after she makes sure her wife comfortable.
