Chapter 8: Julia Duncan x Cecilia Laroux: Chapter 8

Julia tapped her fingers on her desk and sighed. “You both... shouldn’t attack each other...”

“I just... protecting my land, Your Honor.” Julia fixed her posture, then put the bribing video until he stabbed her hand. “I did not attack if he... stay away from my border.”

“Mr. President, your defense to her allegations?” Mr. President’s face paled. He knows he shouldn’t do a stupid thing like this.

He couldn’t run anymore and shook his head. “We will discuss for the punishment for you, Mr. President. Court adjourned!”

Mr. Collins ending the meeting with he commands Mr. President to not running from his country. Julia gets out of the communication tent, followed by Rose. “One of our drones captures this.” Rose zoomed in on the area she meant.

“Now... he’s a war criminal, doesn’t he?” Julia mumbled and sighed. “I wish I’ve got this report sooner.”

Julia kicked a stone, roughly rubbed her face. She was silent for a moment, then looked at her. “Do you have any information about the refugee camp? Why doesn’t he want them?” Rose shook her head.

“Do you want...”

“Yes, please!” Julia’s expression is serious and firm. She pulled out her phone and looked at her lock screen. “Now... I am trapped in my own feeling.” Julia mumbled, then sighed.

A notification sound appears. Julia widened her eyes and closed her mouth.

From: My Cold-Hearted Wife

Call me if you can.

Julia grabbed a screenshot of the message, then called her. “That’s fast.” Julia chuckled and sighed. She heard one of The Vamp’s songs played in the background, furrowed her brow.

“Just a quick question. Where are you?” Julia asked as she walked to her tent.

“Here’s your order, Your Majesty.” Mrs. Louis put a plate of burger, a medium basket of fries, and a glass of vanilla milkshake in front of her. “Is that Queen Duncan?”

“Hey... why are you not answering me?” Cecilia gave her a thin smile and let Mrs. Louie answer her.

“She’s here, Julia! She’s ordering your favorite.” Mrs. Louis jokingly said to her and followed a laugh by the rest of the staff.

“Argh... why did you do that to me!? All I can eat here is an MRE, and the taste is bad.” Cecilia sighed and hung up the call.

Julia grumped as she looked at the map in front of her. She took a deep breath and sighed. A notification appears again from Cecilia. “What does she want now!?”

She opened the message. A picture of a paper bag and plastic cup makes the crinkle around her eyes appear.

A tear dripped from her eyes. “Julia...” Rose gets inside as she brings her tablet. “Mr. President’s troops already retreat. What do you want now?” The Ministry of Defense got inside her tent and bowed his head.

“They retreat.” He said with a firm tone. Julia took a deep breath and sighed. Julia walked to the map and scratched her hair.

“I want... the Navy, Air Force, and Army patrol surrounded our kingdom, and told our citizens to prepare for the worst, evacuate all old, women, and children. Opened all medical field posts and tightened the security inside the border.” She looks at Rose. “Do you already gather the information about the refugee camp outside?”

Rose shook her head. “I-I’m sorry, Your Majesty. They seem to need our help. I know we can’t risk being attacked by the enemies, but... their condition was concerning. Some of them...”

Julia sighed and scratched her hair. “Do you know where they’re come from?” Rose shook her head. Julia stood there silently and sighed. “Send scout with security level 4. I want every detail of them. Send medical team level 5 and researchers.”

Julia took a deep breath and sighed. She called Rose and told her to call her wife and tell her she would be late for 3 days.

“I heard... someone complain about the food rations...” Julia approached the sound and found her wife, wearing her casual outfit, walking with a paper bag and a plastic cup in her hand.

Julia hugged her tightly. No one dare to speak as she hugged the woman in front of her. “It’s been a week...”

Cecilia nodding her head. She did not respond or pull her away. She fills her lungs with her scent and sighs.

Julia let go of her hug to see her wife’s face. The cold, calculating, and warmth face that she’s been missing for two weeks. “I just want to give you this.” She said to the point. Her expression was calm and calculated.

“Do you have a suggestion?” She looks into her eyes, then the map and soldier's toys on the table. “They already retreat, but I prepare for the worse... I decide to put them in patrol mode...”

“It’s a good idea.” She picked the ships' toys, then sighed. “Marquis Carrick wants to have dinner with us in his estate on Thursday, can you make it?”

Julia nodding her head. “I will let the Ministry of Defense know, and... I’ll join you.” She puts it back on the side of the map.

She approached her, then cupped her cheek. Julia held her breath, and their eyes met. “You worked hard... for this kingdom. How’s the meeting with the Council Leader? How’s those dunce rat sewers going?”

Julia shrugged her shoulders. “There’s a refugee camp outside our border. Their condition is concerning...”

“It’s okay to be careful.” Her tone is calm and detached. Julia sighed. “You already act as you are supposed to, dear wife. What makes you unsure about your decision?” She’s whispering.

Julia did not answer her questions until Rose came inside her tent. “Queen Laroux, my apologize.” Rose bowed her head to Cecilia.

“It’s fine. I’m already about to leave.” She walked outside the tent, but Julia held her hand.

“You should...” Julia looks away. Her face was red and her heart beating fast. She sighed and pulled her closer. “How’s our baby going?” Cecilia did not blink. They stared into each other and let out the longing inside their heart.

Julia kissed her forehead gently and put her arm around her waist. “Don’t be too stressed because of you thinking... about me. I will make sure it’s safe first, then we’re having our third date.”

Cecilia nodded her head slightly and left her tent.
