Chapter 2469: Fiery Undead

Sam opened the chamber.

The seven captives have turned into something the others couldn't recognize. They are still humanoid, and they still have all their features intact. However, their bodies are glowing like they were carrying a massive furnace inside.

Their eyes are hollow and their skin turned dark purple.

Almost close to black.

They looked like zombies, or undead, with which they are more familiar with. But at the same time, they are not.

Sam observed them a bit and a smile appeared on his face.

"These are perfect.

Pick a random team from the opponents. We will test these out."

Haziel nodded and discussed with her teammates, before they came to a decision. It wasn't complicated, they just picked the closest one.

"Alright. Perfect.

You just need to go there and mark the location and also keep them all in the same place. Even make them call for reinforcements if possible. And at a proper time, destroy their communication and defense system with this."

Sam gave them a special device he made with a liquid divine energy capsule. This was also something that he had been working on as a side project, whenever he was bored.

"What is this?"

Haziel asked, looking at the small cube Sam gave her.

"This is a pulse generator. Just stay within a couple of hundred meters of the communication set up and hit it.

It should work."

Haziel nodded and left with the team.

Exactly after fifteen minutes, Sam activated the space gate formation. Right before they were about to go in, he did two things.

He took out the small spheres he used back in the lava lake and fed one of them each to the undead creatures.

Then he tagged them with a defensive inscription token on their chests.

Then the undead disappeared into the space gate formation.

At the same time, in the target zone.

The gambler academy team was running around hurriedly as they used every means to keep the large group of Athena family forces occupied. There are no academy members here. That was one of the reasons, the team picked them apart from it being the closest.

As they were in the middle of a tense showdown, Haziel heard someone from the opponents say that they contacted the superiors for the reinforcements.

She clicked on the cube and set it off.

*BOOM*

A shockwave blew off and the communication set up not too far away was fried in an instant.

Both the opponents and the gambler team were stunned. At the same time, they felt spatial fluctuations around them.

Seven figures, glowing red like hot coals appeared and they looked crazed. Blazing flames shout out of their bodies as they charged at the opponents.

Before any of them can react to the presence of these creatures, it turned into mayhem.

The undead creatures were a lot similar to regular undead. In a sense, that they don't feel pain, they are relentless and they fight like crazy with whatever means necessary.

But they were different as well.

They were smart and they can use ranged attacks.

Something that they never thought they would see in any undead creature until now.

Haziel in particular was so shocked.

Her eyes were locked on one of the undead. The creature dashed towards the opponent. It raised the left hand to block a sword attack and extended its right hand to throw a punch. When the opponent tried to block it, a massive inferno shot out of its fist and blasted the opponent away.

The moves were as regular as they could be. They were not exceptionally skilled, but they were not too bad either. They used basic movements and strategies like any other cultivator.

They wouldn't have been much of a threat at all with those basics if they had regular things like fear, a chance at losing a life, etc.

They just attacked relentlessly with no sign of exhaustion. And the chef's kiss was when the opponents discussed that every time they came in contact with these creatures, they were being cursed and soon the first opponent was down with the curse.

Haziel swooped in and landed the finishing blow. She looked at the undead creatures and hesitated for a moment, before she gritted her teeth and threw the body into her storage.

She wouldn't have done this even if it was just a day before. But now, she couldn't help herself.

The other team members also got active and started attacking. The undead creatures really played a big part and the battle soon turned one-sided.

Soon, the reinforcements were there, but the team already dipped along with the undead creatures.

They went back to the base.

"Recover quickly. You guys are going to the spot that sent the reinforcement."

Sam ordered them around. Haziel hesitated for a moment and gave her storage ring to him. Sam frowned and took a look.

He was stunned and then laughed.

"You got hooked. Haziel. You won't be able to get away from this."

Sam said and threw the fifteen corpses into the chamber after he placed the required curse on them.

The team was then sent to the second spot along with the undead creatures to repeat the process all over again.

The opponents didn't anticipate this. Heck, they didn't even anticipate the first attack. They thought the Gambler academy will take a passive role. But it was complete opposite and it worked like a charm.

And just like that the balance of the fight tilted.

In the next seven days, Sam and the Gambler team tore the other party's members apart one by one. The original 344 members have been dwindled to 102 members. Most of them being the academy students.

But that wasn't the only problem anymore. As their numbers fell, the numbers of the gambler academy side increased.

Sam was focused on producing the sphere cores. But he was running out of death elemental energy cores. So, he capped the limit of these undead with sphere cores at fifty and the rest were undead with no cores.

They were just enchanted with specters that knew a couple of battle techniques.

These fiery undead wrecked havoc on the battlefield as if they were soldiers of hell, right from the side of the devil
