Reborn As An Extra In A Cultivation World

After all the lessons were done with, we were left to our own. The weekend passed as I spent my time mapping the ores in the mine and training with my techniques. I would go and do another round of zapping at the end of the week, so I could reach the 3rd Stage of Refinement Revolutions. I felt like I was forgetting something, but with my strong soul and strong memory, what could I have forgotten? I didn't dwell on it and exited my cave after bathing and putting on a new set of clothes. 

This week's fit was a black and silver robe with sharp patterns. I donned a golden crown of simplistic design. With the tight-fitting robes, silver bracers and no extra accessories, I was like a martial artist from a TV show. It made me look more intimidating than usual. Although I was mostly going to watch a show, I would spend my time training in my combat techniques. 

Today was the day Ye Tian's bet with the Instructor Fiery Blade would conclude. As Ye Tian was trying to gather and condense his Qi in five different spots, which I have no idea if means five different dantians or splitting one into five, it's understandable why the Instructor Fiery Blade would think he wouldn't be able to reach Peak Qi Refining First Stage in a week. 

I walked into the auditorium and waited for the main characters of the day to arrive. Except from my divine looks, the biggest topic of the day was the bet. 

-"Do you think Ye Tian will come?"

-"Hah, if he dares to bet with the instructor, he should be. I can't wait for him to be put where he belongs!"

-"He got off easy with just cleaning the stables, if I were the instructor I would've made him attend to Giant Foot Bunnies' toe nails. That thing could be the nastiest work in the world."

-"Hehe, how do you know that then?"

-" Wipe that grin off! My family is rearing some for their blood. It makes a good aphrodisiac regent. We use puppets for their care because it's that bad."

-"Man, I pity you."

Not long after the auditorium was bustling with students and filled to the brim. No one wanted to miss the show. Even Iyana came earlier than she does with two buckets of popcorn, and a pillow. The pillow was for her to sleep through the lecture after the bet, the two buckets, although I wanted to take one, she wouldn't give me any. 

'Self note, don't share popcorn with her.'

The time of the lecture came, and the Instructor Fiery Blade descended to the stage. Even though he looked poised and calm, I could see the faintest grin on his face. He had probably scanned the auditorium with his divine sense already, and noticed that Ye Tian was yet to arrive. He waited for a moment before telling students to sit in a lotus position and cultivate. I walked to the Instructor to say that I wouldn't be joining the lectures for the foreseeable future and would practice my combat arts instead. He looked like he wanted to shoo me away, free to do whatever I want, but before he could put any of those into words, his head whipped to the entrance of the auditorium, and a loud step echoed throughout.

Ye Tian was cultivating in his cave, but if one went inside they wouldn't be able to see him at all. The reason was he was cultivating inside the Immortal Mansion artefact, the Inheritance Site. Ye Tian's cultivation technique didn't need any specific type of qi, ambient Qi was good enough and the trouble one would go through to create a space with just the five element qi was not worth it. Most of the ambient Qi were made of five elemental Qi anyway. It was just a habit for him to cultivate inside the mansion. His last year went on the way to the Clear Sky Institute, and as a solitary Body Building practitioner his journey was fraught with dangers. 

Thankfully, the inheritance site had turned into an artefact, and when he willed it he would go inside the Immortal Mansion, which could not be detected from the outside (think about a certain bead) and allowed him to hide from many dangers. 

"Urgh!"

As he neared a breakthrough, beads of sweat formed on his forehead. He had already reached Peak Qi Refining First Stage, and had worked on mellowing his bottleneck. Normally, a person with Heavenly Grade Spiritual Roots wouldn't face bottlenecks in the Qi Refining Realm. But his bottleneck didn't come from the grade of his roots, but rather the count of them. As per his cultivation technique, he had quintuple dantians inside his body, where there would be one. These dantians perpetually revolved and all were connected.

This special dantian made crippling him nigh impossible. He had a larger Qi capacity, around 7 times that of those in the same stage as his, and only had to gather 5 times the Qi that they had to gather. This made his cultivation five times slower, and his quintuple roots had made him slower by default. His speed could be comparable to a Prominent Clans Double Earthly Roots offspring. A Heavenly Root like Iyana was simply faster than him when it came to cultivation. Considering that his master, the Divine Ascension Saint Ren Meiyu, had made him condense Qi three times with the five dantians, his speed demonstrated his diligence and talent in cultivation.

"Break!"

With a last push he condensed the remaining dantian and now all of his dantians were ready to gather Qi once more. In fact, they had already started gathering Qi. Ye Tian stayed in meditation for a while longer to stabilise his cultivation and came out of the Immortal Mansion. He suddenly appeared in his cave, but there was no one to witness it.

"Hey, don't forget the bet. Free money is never bad."

"Oh right, today was Instructor Fiery Blade's lecture!"

Ye Tian hurriedly fixed his attire and opened his cave. 

"I hope I'm not late."
