Chapter 7: Chapter 7: New Alliances
The ship rocked violently as more of Alvida's crew surged onto the deck, drawn by the commotion. They were armed and furious, ready to fight. Koby cowered slightly behind me, his fear evident, while Nami clutched a small bag filled with stolen loot, eyes scanning for an escape route.
I stepped forward, standing between them and the advancing pirates. "You guys really don't know when to quit, huh?"
A burly pirate lunged at me, cutlass raised. I ducked, sidestepping his swing and delivering a swift punch to his stomach, sending him sprawling across the deck. Another rushed forward, but with a burst of Haki, I disabled him just as quickly. The rest hesitated, clearly unnerved by my power.
Nami raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed but still wary. "You're strong, I'll give you that. But I don't work with pirates."
I grinned. "I'm not just any pirate—I'm going to be the Pirate King!"
Koby's voice trembled as he spoke up. "Luffy, you're amazing! But... what do we do now? There are still more of them below deck."
Before I could respond, a loud crash echoed from the ship's hold, and a massive figure emerged—Alvida, regaining consciousness and furious. Her club dragged along the wooden floor, splintering it with every step.
"You... you brat! You're going to pay for that!"
I readied myself, but before I could act, Nami suddenly flung a grappling hook over the side of the ship. "Forget this—I'm out of here!"
But Koby grabbed her wrist. "Wait! You can't just run! What about us?"
Nami scowled but hesitated. I clenched my fists, focusing my Haki. "Koby, Nami—stay back. I'll handle this."
With a burst of speed, I charged forward, meeting Alvida's swing head-on. My punch, imbued with Haki, collided with her club, shattering it into splinters. She staggered back, eyes wide with shock before collapsing unconscious.
The remaining pirates scrambled to escape. Nami stared in disbelief. "Okay... maybe you're not just another pirate after all."
I stepped closer, lowering my voice so only Nami could hear. "I can save your village from Arlong's pirates... if you join my crew as navigator."
Her eyes widened in shock. "How... how do you know about that?"
I gave a small, confident smile. "I know many things."
She smirked, still processing. "I'll think about it. If you can keep up."
The seas had truly begun to call. The adventure was just getting started.
