Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Disaster of Unfounded

“Hehehe…”

Little Teddy’s laughter continued.

His large, bright eyes gleamed with innocence. That laughter was indeed delightful.

But it did not alleviate the awkwardness between the two.

The ambiguity lingered, making the room even quieter despite the laughter.

Abigail’s skin turned pink at a visible pace, while Brandon Piers continued to gaze at the soft, rounded flesh in his hands, shocked by its beauty.

“Let go!” Abigail keenly felt the cold touch of the man’s distinctly jointed fingers on her skin. Her body tingled briefly, then Teddy’s laughter brought her to her senses. Blushing fully, she noticed the man still staring blankly and shouted in embarrassment.

“I…” Brandon wanted to explain, but his throat was so dry that he didn’t know what to say.

Abigail, still holding Teddy, couldn’t free her hands. She growled in frustration, “What do you mean, ‘I’? Let go, quickly.”

“Oh, I’ll immediately…”

Thump, thump, thump!

Before Brandon could finish his sentence, there was a knock on the door.

Both tensed up instantly. Brandon instinctively called out, “Who is it?”

“You rascal, it’s me!” The elder’s voice boomed outside. Not waiting for a response, he pushed open the door.

Abigail’s eyes widened in surprise, glancing nervously at Brandon.

Brandon quickly took Teddy, placed the little guy on his lap, and grabbed a blanket to cover Abigail. “Wrap up.”

The next moment, the door to the hospital room opened.

Elder Piers walked in with James Carter and Pullan.

But…

“Grandpa, who let you in?” Without waiting for the elder to speak, Brandon asked angrily. All his gentlemanly demeanor vanished.

Elder Piers, fuming, was ready to retort but noticed something amiss.

He glanced at Abigail, who was awkwardly smiling while holding a blanket, then at his great-grandson with his wide, curious eyes sitting on Brandon’s lap. Finally, he saw the suspicious blush on both Brandon and Abigail’s faces.

About to lose his temper, he paused, “You two…”

“Nothing’s going on!” Brandon, usually calm, blurted out. Realizing he only made it sound worse, he cursed inwardly.

“Oh.” Elder Piers replied meaningfully, then turned to James Carter and Pullan, “What’s your take?”

James Carter and Pullan, “…” What were they supposed to see?

But Pullan, ever the clumsy one, stared at Abigail curiously after hearing Elder Piers’s words, “Miss Abigail, why are you holding the Second Young Master’s blanket? Do you want a change? I can help.”

Saying this, Pullan reached for the blanket Abigail was holding.

Abigail, terrified, froze and was about to speak when Brandon scolded, “Are you very idle?”

Pullan, “…I think not.” As the Second Young Master’s bodyguard, he had lots of work to do.

But Brandon was having none of it, “Did you trim the hedge wall?”

“Huh? The engagement ceremony is over, so does it still need trimming?” Pullan became dejected, wondering why the Second Young Master remembered this.

“Oh, so it’s not done yet?” Brandon’s voice gave nothing away.

Pullan resignedly nodded, “…Not yet.”

“Oh, have someone send it to the old mansion. Continue trimming it yourself.” Brandon ordered slowly.

Hearing this, Pullan looked desperately at Elder Piers, his tough, tanned face showing a plea for help.

Elder Piers looked from the embarrassed Abigail to his inexplicably angry grandson to the dejected Pullan. With some thought, he nodded, “Well… Pullan, you’ve worked hard.”

“Hehehe, hehehe…”

Little Teddy saw more people in the room, looked around curiously, then fixed his gaze on the miserable Pullan. Thinking Pullan was amusing him, he laughed out loud again.

Pullan, “…”
