Chapter 25: Taking in a Junior Sister
Wei Yuanling arrived at the Jing Wangfu, and the servants respectfully welcomed him inside.
"Young Master Wei, the prince is in his study. Please, go in."
Wei Yuanling pushed open the study door to find Jun Mo sitting behind the writing desk, with several strong guards and an old man in the room.
Jun Mo looked up and said, "What brings you here?"
Wei Yuanling entered and, seeing the serious expressions on their faces, asked, "Why does everyone look so grim? Has something happened to the Crown Prince?"
The Crown Prince Jun Xiao and Jun Mo had always been good friends. Over the past few years, since the Crown Prince's health had declined, most matters had been handled by Jun Mo.
Mo Yang walked over to close the door.
Wei Yuanling, confused, asked, "Why all this secrecy?"
The old man shook his head and sighed, "Young Master Wei, the prince's cold condition has worsened. He has now forced all the cold poison down to his legs through his cultivation. Although he is not in danger of death, every step he takes is filled with excruciating pain. If this continues, the prince's legs..."
Wei Yuanling was taken aback. "Is it that serious?"
The old man nodded solemnly.
Wei Yuanling seemed to recall something and took out a porcelain vial from his waist, handing it to the old man.
"Elder Dai, please take a look at this medicine." Elder Dai took the vial with suspicion.
Upon opening it, a fragrant aroma wafted out.
Elder Dai brought it to his nose, inhaling deeply, and exclaimed in surprise, "Young Master Wei, where did you get this medicine?"
Wei Yuanling asked, "What's wrong? Is there an issue?"
He hoped there was no problem that could reveal his cousin.
Elder Dai clicked his tongue in wonder. "The medical skills of the person who made this medicine are far superior to mine, and it's exactly what is needed for the prince's cold poison! The formula resembles that of my master, Ming Yang Zhenren. Young Master Wei, where did this medicine come from?"
Elder Dai looked at Wei Yuanling with excitement, suspecting that his wandering master had returned.
Wei Yuanling was astonished. "Is this medicine really that powerful?"
Elder Dai, flushed with excitement, said, "Young Master Wei, was the person who gave you this medicine an elderly man with white hair but a youthful appearance?"
Wei Yuanling shook his head. "This medicine was given to me by my cousin. She mentioned that it still needs two medicinal ingredients and that to completely cure Ziyan's cold condition, she also needs her Golden Needle..."
"Golden Needle to Blood!"
Wei Yuanling nodded. "Yes, the Golden Needle to Blood."
Elder Dai moved closer, eager. "Young Master Wei, where is your cousin? Can I meet her?"
He suspected that his master had taken in a junior sister!
"Uh... meeting her is possible; you'll have a chance eventually. But let's focus on this medicine first. Can the prince take it?"
Elder Dai replied immediately, "Yes! Although this medicine lacks some ingredients, it's highly effective. If the prince takes it, it can suppress the cold poison for at least a year!"
Wei Yuanling breathed a sigh of relief, which was consistent with what his cousin had said.
Jun Mo had been deep in thought, making it hard to see his expression.
Mo Yang asked, "What other medicinal ingredients are needed?"
No matter the difficulty, he would get them for his master!
Wei Yuanling answered, "White Li Zi and Thousand Layer Frost."
Mo Yang frowned, saying, "Those are not easy to obtain at the moment."
Elder Dai added, "It's fine; we have a whole year to search for them. Prince, you should take this medicine first—one pill a day."
Jun Mo took the vial, looking at Wei Yuanling, and asked, "Su Li?"
Wei Yuanling was momentarily stunned before nodding, "Yes, it's the one my cousin refined. She's nearly cured my grandmother's leg ailment."
Since Elder Dai had verified the pills, they were definitely safe to consume.
Jun Mo recalled the pair of clear, black-and-white eyes, leaving a deep impression on him.
He didn't realize how those eyes had imprinted themselves in his mind; he didn't think he was the type to remember people.
Seeing Jun Mo put the vial away, Wei Yuanling asked in surprise, "Ziyan, aren't you going to take it?"
Jun Mo replied, "I will take it."
He did not believe someone would send him medicine without reason; he needed to find an opportunity to meet this girl.
