Chapter 32: Trust
Weeks turned into a month, and the familiar routines of Jujutsu High settled into a new rhythm.
The threat of Sukuna's return and the machinations of the international community continued to loom large, but life, in its own way, went on.
Indra, true to his word, had incorporated Shiho Gojo into their training regimen. Though the alliance was now officially in motion.
"Again," Indra commanded, his crimson aura pulsing around Shiho as she struggled to maintain a stable cursed energy flow.
"Control, not output. The Limitless requires precision, not brute force."
Shiho gritted her teeth, sweat beading on her forehead as she attempted to refine her technique.
The Limitless, while a formidable ability, was proving frustratingly difficult to master without the Six Eyes to guide her.
She could create the barriers, the spatial distortions, but maintaining them efficiently required a level of cursed energy control that had always been Satoru's domain.
"I know, Indra," she replied, her voice strained with effort. "It's just... the energy keeps dispersing. I can't seem to hold it in a focused stream."
"That is because you are approaching it in the wrong way," Indra replied, his tone firm but patient.
"You aren't taking in mind your own qualities that allows you to be so proficient in it. You have always been one to plan, to make sure the effort is worth the cost."
"So," Indra continued, "Think of it as something that you must plan.
The first step is to see the energy as something that is an extension of yourself.
You don't force your arm to move, you simply will it."
"It's useless," Shiho stated, clearly agitated. "With so much wasted energy, I have to keep it in my body - which is just not working.
You are wasting your time here. This is why the Six Eyes were so necessary for the Limitless technique to work."
"Control can be trained," Indra countered, "Unlike inherited traits, control is earned through effort, not just bestowed by birth.
The Gojo clan has relied too heavily on innate talent and has neglected honing their skills."
He stepped closer, adjusting her posture with a gentle hand. "Focus. Feel the energy flowing within you, not as something separate, but as an extension of your will."
"Easier said than done," Shiho muttered, but she closed her eyes and concentrated, attempting to follow Indra's guidance.
The chaotic flow of cursed energy within her began to settle, responding to her intent.
From a nearby tree, Satoru observed their training session with a mixture of amusement and thinly veiled concern.
He floated lazily upside down, his arms crossed behind his head as he watched his sister struggle with a technique that came so naturally to him.
"She's actually trying," he murmured to himself, a hint of surprise in his tone. "I didn't think she had that kind of persistence."
"She does," a voice said from behind him.
Satoru righted himself and turned to see Kisara approaching, her movements graceful and silent.
"How's the training going?" Kisara asked, her gaze shifting between Shiho and Indra.
"Painful, I imagine," Satoru replied with a grin. "Little brother isn't exactly known for his gentle teaching methods."
"He is effective," Kisara countered, her tone suggesting she approved of Indra's approach.
"It's quite a change, seeing Shiho so focused on something other than politics," Satoru said, his Six Eyes gleaming with amusement.
"She's usually plotting three steps ahead, even when she's sleeping."
Kisara chuckled softly. "She is driven. But I suspect there's more to it than just a desire for power or control."
Satoru tilted his head slightly, a hint of curiosity entering his expression. "Oh? And what do you think it is, Ten Shadows?"
Kisara hesitated for a moment, her gaze fixed on Indra as he continued to guide Shiho with his usual intensity. "You follow Indra's path so closely, Satoru. It is something I have always wondered."
"Do you not have any changes you yourself wish to bring to the world?" She finally asked, her tone gentle yet probing. "Any control you yourself desire?"
Satoru's amusement vanished, replaced by an unreadable expression. He pushed himself off the tree and began to float slowly, his eyes focused on some distant point.
"You're being awfully serious, Kisara. What's this all about? You think I'm going to betray little brother and steal his world-conquering plans?"
He turned to face her, a playful grin returning to his face. "Are you getting protective of your future husband? Checking to see if I'm a potential rival?"
Kisara shook her head, a faint smile playing at her lips. "You're not the type, Satoru. I trust you.
But you are not an easy person to understand, and Indra... Indra values your friendship highly - he geniunely sees you as his brother.
I simply wish to understand why you choose to follow his path so closely."
She paused, then added quietly with concen in her voice, "Does it not tire you? To be always second to someone else's vision?"
Satoru was silent for a long moment, his gaze drifting back to the training session as if searching for an answer in the way Indra moved, the way his crimson aura pulsed with contained power.
"Power is boring, you know? Easy, expected. I was born with so much of it, I've never really had to try.
It's like having a cheat code to a game that everyone else is struggling to play. It gets old pretty fast."
He paused, a hint of something that might have been weariness crossing his features. "Most people are the same.
They want power, but they don't know what to do with it. They see it as an end in itself. To me, that's just... boring."
Kisara listened intently, her dark eyes studying him with a mixture of curiosity and understanding. "But Indra also seeks power," she pointed out gently.
"He speaks of 'conquering' the jujutsu world. How is that different?"
Satoru sighed, a sound that held a hint of something close to genuine envy. "It's the guilt, I guess," he admitted, almost reluctantly.
"The world's gotten messier since we showed up. Curses are stronger, smarter.
That thing in Kyoto was a whole new level of creepy - not to me or Indra, but when I try to put myself in my dad's place if he was there...."
His Six Eyes flickered, as if replaying the events of that night. "We tipped the scales, you know? Upset the balance.
We're supposed to be the strongest, the ones who protect humanity as my dad always tells me. But sometimes... sometimes it feels like we're just making things worse."
He paused, his gaze softening slightly as he looked at Indra. "He has a vision, a plan. And he's not afraid to do what needs to be done. I respect that. More than anything else."
Kisara tilted her head, her expression thoughtful. "You make him sound almost infallible, Satoru. As if he has no flaws, no doubts."
Satoru's lips curved into a wry smile. "Does he? Have you ever actually seen Indra make a mistake, Kisara? To regret something? To feel sorrow?"
He paused, his gaze growing distant as he seemed to delve into his own memories. "He just keeps moving forward, shaping the world to his will.
He just does what he has to do, and has never looked back. Never shown any doubt, never felt any sorrow... It's almost inhuman, you know?"
His voice dropped to a near whisper. "That's what I admire about him. His will, his determination, his certainty. He might be a monster, but he is our monster."
Kisara was silent, absorbing his words. She had always sensed a deep connection between Satoru and Indra, but she hadn't fully understood the nature of that bond.
It wasn't simply friendship or respect - it was something closer to admiration bordering on reverence.
Satoru, with all his power, saw something in Indra that he lacked himself. A purpose, a direction, an unwavering will. And perhaps, a darkness that he couldn't turn away from.
His gaze drifted back to the training session, a flicker of something akin to awe entering his eyes.

Flashback
The training ground was bathed in the harsh afternoon sun. Ten-year-old Satoru Gojo lay on the ground, gasping for air, his white uniform torn and stained with dirt.
He was used to winning, to dominating every opponent with his Six Eyes and Limitless technique.
Used to seeing the world unfold before him in predictable patterns that he could easily control.
But today was different. Today, he had been utterly and completely defeated.
Not by brute force, not by a superior technique, but by something far more unsettling - a calculated dismantling of everything he thought he knew about jujutsu.
Standing before him was Indra Zenin, his crimson aura dimmed but still radiating an intensity that made Satoru's skin crawl.
He was a three days younger than Satoru, but his massive frame seemed to tower over the fallen Gojo heir. He was not exhausted, but looked almost bored.
"You rely too much on your innate talent," Indra stated, his voice carrying the quiet authority that always seemed to unnerve Satoru.
"You see the destination, but you fail to consider the path."
Satoru, still struggling to catch his breath, spat on the ground near Indra's feet. "I don't need a path. I can just teleport straight to the end."
Indra tilted his head slightly, his dark eyes studying Satoru with something that seemed almost like pity. "And what will you do when you find yourself at an end with no way forward?
You have been blessed beyond measure, but in the end, you are only as capable as what you are willing to do."
He gestured towards the training ground, which had been reduced to rubble by their battle. "You have power, but you lack control. I can see the paths through the jungle - you can only see the end."
Satoru had scoffed, trying to regain some of his shattered pride. "I have the Six Eyes! I can see everything!"
Indra had merely smiled, a subtle expression that made Satoru's blood run cold.
"Then show me. Show me what you see that allowed you to fail to notice," he then engulfed himself in an area of cursed energy he had never seen before, something that with future knowledge, he would know as Domain Amplification.
As he activated the ability, it was clear that Satoru had no idea what was going on. No, that wasn't true. With his Six Eyes, he knew, but his body didn't.
He had never had to truly move, to truly try to do anything. But now it was here.
He was no longer invincible because he could not use the Limitless. He was akin to one only at that point a prodigy who was slightly above average.
Even the defeat two years ago was not something so devestating to his pride.
Indra with his own strength and power could then easily destroy him, as the next few minutes showed.
After the beating was done, Indra had stated to him, "You are strong, but you are also weak."
Satoru had scowled, struggling to rise to his feet. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means you have the potential to be more than just a prodigy. You have the potential to be something truly exceptional - but not as you are now.
Now, you are nothing more than a child playing with a toy he doesn't understand."
Before Satoru could retort, Indra had turned and walked away, leaving him alone in the ruined training ground, surrounded by the wreckage of his shattered ego.
For the second time in his life, Satoru had felt something he couldn't dismiss with a flippant comment or a display of power.
He had sensed the weight of expectation, the burden of responsibility, the crushing realization that his innate talent was not enough to make him truly worthy.
The sun began to set, casting long shadows across the training ground. The only sound was the wind whistling through the gaps in the broken walls.
As the cold started to seep in, Satoru heard a voice. "You know. You can do it. I believe in you," It was Shiho, and he knew that she was smiling. He hated it.
He hated how she was looking at him with pity. He hated how she was always right. How she - to him - faked her love and sympathy.
He just hated her. That was the first day they spoke in years.
End Flashback
--------------------------
Satoru shook his head slightly, as if dispelling the memory. "You know, for all his talk about power and control, he has always been the one who sees things I can't. The one who makes me actually try."
"But he's not me. He is his own person," Satoru said, as he then looked at Kisara. "I don't know if I can ever be like him. I just want to help him, and that's it."
"And you're okay with that?" Kisara asked, her voice soft. "With simply being the one who follows, rather than the one who leads?"
Satoru shrugged, a hint of his old playfulness returning. "Hey, someone has to make sure the trains run on time, right? Besides, it's not like I can't do whatever I want.
It's just more fun that way when he is in the lead - showing the path."
He paused, his Six Eyes capturing her attention with unnerving intensity. "And besides, when everything goes to hell, you'll need someone to clean it up.
And you know there's only one person in this world who can handle that."
"Just remember," Kisara said, her tone serious, "that your own desires are important too. That to Indra and me you are family. We can't help you if you don't know what you want."
Satoru simply smiled, and then floated to a tree, and then sat and closed his eyes. He was not one for these kind of talks - for they were far too annoying.
But he did appreciate Kisara's concern.
"So, what do you think we do now?" Kisara asked, as she then turned to look at the training. "Do you really think this will work? That she will be able to use the Limitless?"
"She will," Indra said as he approached. "The only question is the amount of time."
"And if she can't?" Kisara asked as she looked at Indra.
"Then we will find something else for her to do," Indra said as he gave her a small smile. "Remember, it is not about the power, but about what you do with it."
The two then stood in silence, as they looked at the training that was happening. The world was changing, but that was not always supposed to be the focus.
Sometimes you need to enjoy the quiet.

(Author note: Hello everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the chapter!
Yeah, this is me incorporating the effects Indra would have on Satoru growing up together.
Satoru in canon before Riko's death wasn't really on the 'help the weak' train.
He just enjoyed using his power.
In here, he is much the same, but because of the defeat against Indra - becoming closer to his family, he began to care for them. For those weak - to the extent of those who he likes.
He has some guilt about their birth tipping the balance since a lot the Gojo clan just dies so much when meeting a group of Grade 1's for example.
He wants to change the world, but he is also unsure if he is suited to.
He trusts the Six Eyes, but no longer 100%.
Instead he has begun to because he is so used to trusting one thing completely to shift his trust to Indra, and see him as the epitome of morality -
an infallible being, since he has always corrected him when he was wrong, and things ended better for him.
Also, I know comedy is something that needs to be added - and I will soon, hopefully.
So yeah, I hope that cleared it up, and I hope to see you all later,
Bye!)
