Chapter 263: Chapter 263 Some Temperaments are Innate_1
It took some effort for Yun Hai and Yun Lei to understand Yunhan’s usage of business jargon and official-sounding words.
From his decades of experience, their father quickly grasped it, “Hanhan, you mean to say Ahao gets transferred to Kyoto?”
Meng Yunhan proudly responded, “Yes, he will be transferred to Kyoto.”
She had confidence in this, not just because of her connection to Lu Jianjun, but also because Yun Hao was needed to help with issues related to Lu’s stepmother. He would certainly take Yun Hao with him.
The thought left their mother stunned. If the whole family moved to Kyoto, would they ever come back?
“Well, congratulations,” Yun Hai belatedly offered, acidly.
“Thank you, thank you,” Meng Yunhan politely accepted.
Being with child hadn’t affected her confident, independent woman vibe.
Some of that vibe was inborn, some of it was groomed over years.
Now, people might think that Meng Yunhan was a naturally confident woman who had honed her abilities through adversity, making her shine all the more radiantly.
Yun Hai and Yun Lei had the simultaneous feeling that over just this past half year, a significant social gap had opened between them. It felt like Meng Yunhan was now a city dweller, while they would always be easily recognized as coming from the countryside.
They remembered that originally Meng Yunhan was indeed from a city and had only moved to their Qingzhao Village later.
“Mom, do you want me to help in the kitchen?” Yunhan masterfully claimed the conversational control.
Their mother snapped out of it, “No need, no need, your sisters-in-law are on it.” As if on cue, the oldest and the second son appeared.
Just when the atmosphere was becoming awkward, Little Huzi woke up.
Meng Yunhan quickly set Little Huzi down for a diaper change. Dressed in red cotton clothes and a pair of tiger-head shoes, and donning a red woolen cap knitted by Meng Yunhan, he was irresistibly cute, with chubby little cheeks.
Yun Hai and Yun Lei had seen their nephew at his full moon celebration. Seeing him again now, he looked more like Ahao every day.
It hit Yun Hai hard because Ahao, who he had cared for since his own childhood, had looked exactly like Little Huzi as a baby.
“Little Huzi, this is grandma, this is grandpa, this is your great uncle, this is your second uncle,” Meng Yunhan tagged each person for Little Huzi.
Little Huzi cooperated, turning to look at each person as Meng pointed.
“He is smarter than Ahao was at his age,” their mother marvelled.
“Dad, Second Uncle, Grandpa, Grandma, Auntie, Little baby brother,” Yun Mingze and Yun Mingliang, the two brothers, greeted everyone in sequence.
“Xiaoliang, Xiaoze, I’ve brought some candies for you, go get them yourself,” Meng Yunhan, still holding Little Huzi, pointed to the candies on the table.
Zhang Cuihua would buy candies for New Year, but they were the cheap kind.
Zhao Fang would also buy some, equally economical choices.
“Mom, hold Little Huzi for a moment for me, I’ll help in the kitchen and get the meal ready sooner.” Meng Yunhan handed Little Huzi over to her mother-in-law without hesitation and walked towards the kitchen.
With Meng Yunhan gone, the room felt less tense and awkward.
Little Huzi, in his grandmother’s embrace, was curiously taking it all in.
Despite the departure of his mother, Little Huzi did not fuss, but contentedly looked around at his brothers and others present.
“Dad, Second Uncle, we are going out to play for a while.” Xiaoliang and Xiaoze both felt a strange vibe in the room and wanted to escape.
“Go ahead!” Yun Hai waved them off.
“Ah ah ah…” Little Huzi too wanted to go out and play.
