Reborn into solo leveling as a Phoenix

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Re-Registration

Fang Yuan closed the door to his shabby motel room, the eerie silence enveloping him once more. The cold air in the room contrasted sharply with the warmth of the phoenix flames that simmered beneath his skin. His eyes narrowed as he glanced down at the two gleaming swords resting on the table before him. The Ice Wolf and Lightning Wolf katana blades seemed to hum , their elemental energies resonating with his own.

He needed to be careful. These weapons weren't simply for show. They where extremely powerful and many would covet it if they knew of its existence before he could increase his strength to a sufficient ..... and use them to their full potential. But before he could fully unlock their potential, he had to gain the proper recognition as a Hunter. His re-registration with the Hunter's Association was the first step in achieving that goal.

Fang Yuan walked to the small window, peering out at the bustling streets of Seoul. The neon lights flickered, casting eerie shadows on the faces of passersby. Somewhere out there, someone was likely making their way to the Association right now—whether for a rank up or to take the same assessment that he would soon face.

The first step was simple enough: he had to make his way to the Association and re-register. But it wasn't about just getting a piece of paper that said "Hunter." He needed to make a statement—to show that he wasn't just another low-ranking fighter struggling to survive in the underbelly of the world.

Determined, he grabbed his swords and placed them back into his inventory. With a quick glance at the messy room around him, he straightened his clothes, checked his identity card one last time, and left the room. The streets of Seoul, busy and chaotic as ever, greeted him as he exited the building and made his way toward the Hunter's Association.

---

The Hunter's Association was nestled in the heart of Seoul's downtown district, a towering monolith of glass and steel that symbolized both power and bureaucracy. As Fang Yuan neared the entrance, the buzz of anticipation built in his chest. There would be no turning back after this. The examination was a formality, but it was an important one.

He passed through the sleek revolving doors, finding himself in a large, modern lobby. A massive, shining logo of the Hunter's Association stood above a reception desk, and several workers moved about, their faces set in stoic indifference. However, the air was thick with tension—everyone here was either on a mission, preparing for one, or had just completed one. The life of a Hunter was never dull.

"How may I assist you?" a woman at the reception desk asked, her tone polite but distant.

"I need to re-register," Fang Yuan said, his voice steady, betraying none of the anticipation roiling inside him. He placed his expired card on the counter.

The woman glanced at the card, then looked up at him with a raised eyebrow. "You'll need to take a mana examination first."

Fang Yuan nodded, his mind already preparing for the test. The mana examination was something every Hunter had to pass, no matter their rank. The test would measure his mana capacity, and overall ability to wield magic in battle. The original bodys owner had taken such exams before. He was certain his eyes would provide an edge.

"Follow me," the receptionist instructed, leading him to a door at the back of the lobby.

Beyond it, a large chamber awaited, filled with various mystical devices and testing equipment. At the center of the room stood a pedestal with a large crystal-like object hovering above it. A thick sheet of magical energy surrounded the pedestal, and Fang Yuan could feel the hum of mana as soon as he entered.

A man in a gray suit stood near the pedestal, watching him approach. His eyes were sharp, calculating, and he seemed to size Fang Yuan up before nodding to himself.

"Step up and place your hand on the pedestal," the man said in a neutral tone.

Fang Yuan walked forward, his mind focused. He extended his hand, placing it on the cool surface of the pedestal. A surge of energy shot through his arm, and the room seemed to blur as his senses sharpened.

The Six Eyes. He activated them immediately, sharpening his perception to its utmost degree. His mana reserves, which had been previously felt as a faint presence, suddenly expanded within his mind's eye. He could see the flow of mana around him, as though the air itself was thick with invisible threads, and the mana core within the pedestal reacted to this intrusion, humming in response.

The man watching him raised an eyebrow. "Interesting," he muttered.

Fang Yuan smiled inwardly. His enhanced perception allowed him to manipulate the examination's readings to his advantage. The device measured mana output, strength, and capacity. But it couldn't differentiate between someone naturally strong and someone with high manipulation skills.

He controlled the flow of mana, making it appear as though he had an overwhelming amount of energy. The numbers that appeared on the device's screen shot up, displaying an A-rank level of mana. Fang Yuan wasn't actually an A-rank probly a E or if putting his race into the equation c, but with the help of his Six Eyes and his ability to manipulate mana, he could easily deceive the mana reading device.

The device beeped loudly, signaling the completion of the test.

"Impressive," the examiner said, stepping forward to inspect the results. "You've scored at an A-rank level. What class do you identify as?"

Fang Yuan didn't hesitate. "Healer."

The examiner blinked, clearly surprised. He had expected a fighter or a mage, not a healer. But then, the results spoke for themselves. He could see the subtle manipulation in the mana, the fine control that hinted at someone who could heal—but also someone who could harm if need be.

"Very well," the examiner said, a hint of intrigue in his voice. "We'll issue your new rank card shortly."

The process took only a few minutes, and soon Fang Yuan found himself holding a sleek new Hunter's card, embossed with an A-rank designation and a small silver symbol indicating his healer status. He slipped it into his pocket, a small smile curling his lips.

Before he could leave, his attention was drawn to a commotion in the far corner of the room. Two swordsmen were sparring one of them weiled duel short blades while the other used a long sword in their fight, their blades clashing in a rhythmic dance of deadly precision. Fang Yuan's attention was drawn as his sharp eyes locked onto their every movement, analyzing the way their swords cut through the air, the way they shifted their weight and balanced their stances.

It was as if time slowed for a moment, his Reactive Copy skill activating automatically. The world around him became a blur as he absorbed their techniques. He analyzed every strike, every maneuver, until the patterns of their dueling sword arts became clear.

Fang Yuan's eyes glowed briefly, and a notification appeared in his mind:

---

[Reactive Copy Skill activated]

[Dueling Sword Arts (Level 0) acquired]

[One handed sword arts(Level 0) acquired]

---

The knowledge of dueling sword arts flooded into his mind. The fluidity, the precision, the way one sword complimented the other—it was all there. But it was raw, unpolished. The skill was at Level 0, but it was a start. He would need practice, more time, and perhaps more sparring sessions to level it up. But that was something he could easily manage.

Turning on his heel, Fang Yuan made his way to the exit, feeling the weight of his new card in his pocket. The Hunter's Association had recognized him as an A-rank healer, a title he would soon make his own.

Now, it was time for the dungeon.

---

Fang Yuan stood before the entrance of the dungeon he had been previously denied access to. The guard at the checkpoint eyed him warily, but his gaze softened when he saw the new card.

"You've been re-registered, I see," the guard said. "Go ahead."

With a nod, Fang Yuan stepped past him, entering the dark, foreboding gate. He could already feel the familiar tingling in the air—the presence of monsters, the pulse of the dungeon's magic.

The real challenge had just begun,

Feeling this fang Yuan heart started to beat like a drum it was not out of fear but out of pure excitement.
