Chapter 7: corvix
Pov Corvix
As I watched Kaidorix and his family, I couldn't help but think about our earlier encounter. I had been exploring the tunnel, my curious nature getting the better of me, when I stumbled upon Kaidorix.
In a playful gesture, I had rubbed against his claws, not realizing he would take it as a threat. When he swiped at me, I darted away, frightened by his sudden movement.
But despite the scare, I had caught a glimpse of Kaidorix's expression - and to my surprise, he didn't seem angry or frightened. Instead, he looked almost... enchanted.
I realized, with a flutter in my chest, that Kaidorix thought I was cute and beautiful. The way he had looked at me, with a softness in his eyes, made me feel seen and appreciated.
Now, as I observed Kaidorix from a safe distance, I felt a sense of wonder and connection. I was drawn to him, and I couldn't help but want to know more about this strange and fascinating creature.
I go back to my place since my home is also on this mountain I walk deeper, and I get back at my place with my younger brothers and sisters
As I walked through the mountain cave, I was now in the small hole that my siblings and I called home. It was a cozy little space nestled in the wall of the cave.
I slipped inside the hole, my wings folding against my back as I settled in among my younger brothers and sisters. They looked up at me with excitement, their big round eyes shining in the dim light.
"Hey, little ones," I said, nuzzling them gently. "I had quite an adventure today. I met a new friend on the mountain."
Their eyes grew wide with interest, and they all leaned in, eager to hear more. My siblings were always curious about my adventures, and I was happy to share my stories with them.
I began to tell them the story of how I met Kaidorix, who lived in the very same cave as us, just in a different part of it. My siblings listened with rapt attention, their ears perked up, and their tails twitching with excitement.

As I told my siblings about Kaidorix, I couldn't help but think about how different he was from us. He was big and strong, with scales that shone like the brightest jewels. And yet, despite his fearsome appearance, he had seemed kind and gentle. My siblings listened with wide eyes, asking questions and leaning in closer. I smiled, happy to share my adventure with them. But as I finished my story, I couldn't shake the feeling that Kaidorix was going to be important to us, somehow.
Our parents died a few weeks ago
As I finished telling my siblings about Kaidorix, they all looked at me with wide eyes and excited expressions. Valtor, being the adventurous one, was already planning our next move.
"We have to go meet him again!" Valtor exclaimed. "I want to see his scales and learn more about his powers."
Lunara, on the other hand, was more cautious. "But Corvix, are you sure it's safe?" she asked. "We don't know much about Kaidorix or his family."
I nodded thoughtfully, considering Lunara's concerns. "You're right, Lunara. We do need to be careful. But I think Kaidorix is genuinely friendly, and I'd like to learn more about him."
Baldur, ever the protector, spoke up. "I'll come with you, Corvix. We'll make sure you're safe."
Freya, meanwhile, was already imagining all the fun games we could play with Kaidorix. "Ooh, can we invite him to play hide-and-seek with us?" she asked.
Loki, as usual, was quiet and observant, watching us all with a thoughtful expression.
I smiled, feeling grateful for my wonderful siblings. But a pang of sadness hit me, remembering that we were on our own now. Our parents, Thane and Astrid, had passed away just a few weeks ago, and it was still hard to adjust to life without them.
"Let's plan a visit to Kaidorix's lair tomorrow," I said, trying to sound brave and confident. "We'll need to be careful and look out for each other."
My siblings all nodded in agreement, and we settled in for a quiet night's sleep, trying to find comfort in each other's company.
