Reincarnated As Fenrir The God Of Chaos

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Whispers of Celestia

The morning birds chirped softly as the first light of dawn streamed through the barn's open window. Fenrir stirred slowly, his ears twitching at the sound of approaching footsteps. He heard the creak of the barn doors swinging open.

"Fenris!" Rose's voice rang out, brimming with excitement.

Before Fenrir could react, Rose sprinted toward him, a book clutched tightly in her hands. With a playful leap, she landed in the hay beside him, sending golden strands flying through the air.

Fenrir chuckled, her excitement infectious.

"I'm sorry you got kicked out," Rose said, her eyes sincere.

Fenrir shrugged. "It's okay. It was my fault—I blew up your wall."

She giggled, swinging her legs as she sat beside him. "I still can't believe you can talk. Now I won't be alone—I finally have someone to talk to."

Fenrir tilted his head. "You don't have anyone to talk to?"

Rose hesitated for a moment before offering a small smile. "No one my age. The only friend I had was Luna... and now you, if you want to be friends." Her eyes seemed to plead with him.

Fenrir tilted his head slightly, his fur soft in the morning light. He gave a small, almost imperceptible nod, his tail swishing. "Of course, I'm happy to be your friend," he replied, his voice calm and sincere.

Rose jumped up, her face lighting up with excitement. "Yay!" she cheered, then suddenly paused, a thought crossing her mind. "Right!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. "Let's get out of here. I want to show you my favorite spot."

She waved for him to follow, then darted out of the door. Without a second thought, Fenrir's muscles tensed, and he raced after her, his paws kicking up the soft earth beneath him.

Rose's laughter danced in the cool morning air, a melody that stirred something deep inside Fenrir. The sound was so warm, so familiar, like the carefree days with his sister before she died.

They raced past the shimmering lake, their feet barely touching the ground as they dashed through a field of vibrant flowers. Fenrir paused for a brief moment, a strange warmth radiating from the flowers. It was subtle, but he shook it off and kept running.

They climbed a hill, the towering tree offering patches of cool shade. At the top, they skidded to a stop, breathless from the run. With a content sigh, they collapsed onto the soft grass, the world around them quieting as they caught their breath.

Rose still clutched the book in her hands, its luxurious cover glinting faintly in the sunlight as they lay there, catching their breath.

"So, Rose, what do you have there?" Fenrir asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Oh, right!" Rose exclaimed, quickly lying down on her belly in the grass. She flipped open the book, her fingers tracing the intricate designs on its pages.

"I wanted to show you this—it's full of stories about gods," she said excitedly.

"Wait… gods?" Fenrir's eyes widened in shock. Suddenly, she had his full attention.

Fenrir stepped closer, peering over Rose's shoulder at the book's contents. The pages were filled with intricate illustrations, but the text was completely unreadable to him. Great, just his luck.

Then, right before his eyes, the letters shifted, rearranging themselves into words he could understand.

"This book is enchanted," Rose explained, noticing his confusion. "It automatically translates into whatever language the reader knows."

"That's… actually really cool," Fenrir admitted, though he still wasn't sure what any of it meant.

As Rose flipped through the pages, an image caught his eye—a detailed drawing of an enormous tree stretching across the page, its vast branches connecting different realms. Unlike the other pages, this one had no words, only the image.

"What's that?" he asked, tilting his head.

"That's Yggdrasil," Rose said, her finger tracing the trunk of the massive tree. "At its center is Nexus, the realm where gods and other beings live together." She shifted her hand to the far-right branch. "This is Asgard, ruled by Odin," she continued, then moved to the far left. "And here is Olympus, ruled by a god named Zeus."

Fenrir's eyes scanned the sprawling tree, noticing countless other branches. "And all of these?"

"Other realms," Rose said. "This one is the realm of elves, and this one belongs to the giants." She eagerly continued, pointing out different worlds, each with its own stories and rulers. Then, she paused and pointed to a spot near the bottom of the trunk. "And this is us—the mortal realm. There are millions of planets here."

Fenrir's gaze drifted upward to the very top of the tree, where a mysterious, glowing structure loomed. His ears twitched. "And this?"

Rose's expression grew more serious. "That's Celestia," she said softly. "It's where the most powerful gods reside."

Fenrir stood still, listening intently, his gaze fixed on Rose as she continued.

"Celestia is said to rule over all the realms," Rose explained, her voice softening as she flipped to the next page. "But according to this book, they watch over a world called Teyvat."

She sighed, her eyes distant. "I wish the gods would pay more attention to our world. But Astralis doesn't get much of that. We're just lucky that we've received a blessing from Flora, the goddess of flowers. That's also why the flowers here have special healing properties."

Fenrir's ears perked up at the mention of Flora. "So, that's what I felt from the flowers? And what is Astralis?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

Rose smiled gently. "That's what we call this planet, our home—Astralis."
