"Child, you have come to the wrong place. If you are looking for those false prayer-goers, you should not seek them here."

The old man's indifferent response seemed to manifest right beside Empty Mountain Traveler's ear, causing them to bristle uncontrollably in surprise.

When had he appeared behind them?

They watched the old Priest warily, the Priest whose hair was already showing signs of greying. The first impression he gave was that he could be toppled over by a mere gust of wind at any moment.

In the real world, such an elder was exactly the kind of person Empty Mountain Traveler would often give up their seat for on the bus.

But they were well aware that in the Netherworld, things were not necessarily the same.

After all, before the old monsters inside the Gates of the Netherworld revealed their true selves, anyone at first glance would think these elders were weak and easy to bully, but those who knew better understood the truth.

"Child, don't be nervous. If I wanted to kill you, you would be powerless no matter how much you struggled right now," the Priest said slowly as he approached, the staff in his hand shimmering with a faint divine light.

The strong goblin in the middle, who had been silent till now, huffed and pulled out a metal rod from behind him. He attached a short sword to the metal rod with a twist, transforming it into a spear. "A Cardinal of the Earth Mother Goddess Church actually deigns to visit Wandong City."

Holding the spear, he pointed it at the old Priest and said coldly, "Care for a spar?"

Before the old Priest could nod in agreement, an attack fierce as a hurricane arrived, pounding in front of the Priest like torrential rain hitting banana leaves.

"You goblins really don't like to give a warning before getting your hands dirty," the old Priest said, his staff lifted with an ease that belied its appearance, as he began to fight forcefully against the skilled goblin warrior.

"There's no need to warn those like you, invaders. Just take what's coming to you," the goblin's relentless attacks continued, his powerful wrist strength turning the spear into a whirlwind. Wherever it passed, old trees were toppled, and it was hard to believe such brute force was unleashed even while the Anti-Casting Field Device was operational.

What was even more frightening was that no matter what kind of attacks were launched by the goblin, the old Priest managed to block them all with stability, and even used his staff as if it was a sledgehammer, smashing it down heavily.

The goblin, unable to defend in time, managed only to place his spear in front of him to block the hit, but he was sent flying like a bowling pin.

He managed to alleviate the impact by using the tip of his spear to touch the ground, but when he landed, he finally had the chance to turn his head and shout at Empty Mountain Traveler:

"Kid, hurry up! This old man is troublesome, I can't hold him off for long."

"Don't rush me, I haven't stopped at all," Empty Mountain Traveler felt a desperate sweat threatening to break as they realized they couldn't waste the opportunity created by the goblin.

A group of elite players had come together precisely to quickly understand what the situation was inside this dungeon.

Yet, even in such circumstances, they were still being pushed back.

Players were already getting smashed and crippled because they couldn't withstand the pressure, and so far, they had not identified any false prayer-goers among them.

Some had even started to curse at the "Rat's Eye" for spreading false information.

"Ugh..." The goblin, in close combat with the old Priest, couldn't endure the powerful Priest's attack and was not prepared to defend properly. A heavy blow from the Priest's staff landed squarely on his chest.

Even though he had the Vanguard Armor on his chest, the impact still caved in his chest. He was clearly not going to live.

The old Priest, breathing heavily, said, "Among the goblin warriors of Wandong City who have fought so far, you are the most resilient. It's hard to imagine you goblins willingly cooperating with humans. This is indeed a rare sight!"

However, as he said this, the goblin who had spat out a mouthful of blood had already ceased breathing, propped up by his spear, noble and defiant in death.

"Dead, is he..." the old Priest sighed.

He turned to look at Empty Mountain Traveler who was still dodging the prayer-goers' attacks and checking for weaknesses up close, chuckled, and then said:

"I remember telling you from the beginning that if you want to find the false prayer-goers, you obviously won't find them amongst this group."

Empty Mountain Traveler watched the old Priest who had just brutally killed the goblin with brute strength with caution, prepared to not receive any information at all and be sent out of the dungeon.

Unexpectedly, the old man was looking at her with a gentle gaze, apparently not inclined to attack.

"Child, tell me, you are the children of Shang Tiya, right?" Wary, Empty Mountain Traveler, upon hearing the old man's words, finally realized why they hadn't been killed by this formidable NPC just yet.

Hm? Not attacking immediately?

This Priest seems open to communication?

Seizing the opportunity, they replied cautiously and even somewhat irritably, "While many do refer to us as the children of Shang Tiya, we have no connection with you."
