Chapter 4: Knowing Strengths

Eclair decided that being honest was the right route, after all, he had to do everything to make sure to survive to even accomplish his goal.

He couldn't wait to have every single type of food on his tongue after he got out of the Academy. He had to worry about the World coming to war but that is the second thing he'll worry about.

It's time he put himself first, he felt it was deserved.

"Bring your focus here." Solas coughed. "How good are you when it comes to the disciplines? Show me."

Eclair nodded and released his Omi out, he first used Guard, pulling his Omi in his body, it did bolster his body, thankfully, it's something he trained a lot before he came for Solas to help so he was efficient at Guard.

He soon released his Omi, his Omi burst outward, and it flickered like a raging flame around him. Since Eclair trained this as well, he could continue to maintain his Aura out for a complete five minutes.

Soon he stopped pouring out his Omi and decided to quickly change to Temper, using percept here needs Solas' input, which is something that could be done later. He released some Omi out of his palm and shaped it into a sphere.

It wasn't a perfect sphere, a testament to Eclair not training Temper too much. He maintained the sphere for a while before making his Omi dissipate in the air.

Eclair soon used Conceal, retracting his Omi and slowly and surely, severed contact between his Soul and Body by closing his Mind off. Essence is produced in the soul, it is inside one's body and gets regulated by blood, so theres more concentration of Essence in one's blood.

This is also the reason that demons find Humans with Omi tasty, Anyway, Eclair found his presence lessening down to that of an insect once he used Conceal.

"Amazing, you're more efficient when using Conceal, if I'm not looking at you right now I wouldn't be able to find you."

That is way high of a compliment, Eclair thought so, after all, Solas is a registered Sorcerer. He is stronger and even more experienced than Eclair.

"That sounds like flattery, but thank you."

Solas smirked, "Look at this brat, anyways, Omi disciplines are connected to one's personal experience in life, I don't know what you experience to be able to almost master Conceal at a young age but I won't question it."

'To almost master Conceal?' Eclair thought, he reflected for a moment and thought of his past, right, back at the Rosvault estate he was mostly bullied by his half-siblings, he had to find a way to hide from them to stop the pain.

When he was in hiding, this is before he learned Omi, the house servants could not find him, except for his older step-siblings and his father.

Now that Eclair thought of it, he didn't like the way that he subconsciously trained Conceal.

"Alright, now can you see this?" Solas raised his palm.

Eclair focused on Solas' palm, his Percept was being tested. He soon gathered Omi to his eyes and condensed it enough, like using glasses the essence that Solas was raising became visible for Eclair.

"Yes."

However, the ball of essence that Solas was raising was beside his palm now above it. Eclair was confused about why would Solas do this but when he looked at Solas he was just in a contemplative state. "How many do you see?"

"One…?"

Solas nodded in understanding and dissipated his Essence. "There were three of them."

Eclair felt like Solas' words were affirming that he didn't do a good job, Eclair felt sweat run down his back. Solas' saw Eclair's reaction and adopted a worried face.

"You alright kid?"

"Y-yeah, just… force of habit."

Solas scanned Eclair's face and sighed, he ruffled the boy's hair before turning around. "I'm going to make a schedule for you, visit me tomorrow."

Eclair nodded, he felt that wasted time today would be a shame. But he didn't lament over it, instead, he went back to his dorm to train.

Clearly, having Omi would greatly enhance his body but that doesn't mean the notion of having a better constitution is going to be rejected.

Also, with this time, he can mull over his Art. The clear difference between Art and Techniques is that the conditions, conditions are also a kind of self-promise.

Technique conditions are set to the technique itself, not to the user. For example, a fireball, a common technique, has the condition that it will use the essence supplied by the user as flames and explode upon impact.

These conditions are applied by the user and cannot be broken. Unlike Art, where conditions are set upon the user and, of course, conditions acting like a self-promise, can be broken.

These conditions should be upheld by the user to use their Art. Of course, the conditions that are being talked about are conditions upon oneself not only conditions upon activation or usage.

After some deliberation, Eclair started practising his Aura, releasing it in a constant flow. He was able to keep up the state for four minutes and a half.

By then, his Omi ran out and he was exhausted. He was tired superficially, there wasn't a single sweat running down his back. He sighed and laid himself down.

For now, it would be best to mull over his Art. The conditions placed upon an Art could tell a person's personality, of course, that's not always the case but most of the time it is a glimpse of someone's identity.

It's a way to self-express, that's why it's called an Art. Of course, it is also important to have one's Art synergies with one's affinity.

Eclair closed his eyes, since he had learned Omi, he could sleep for 5 hours without being sleepy the next morning. And that's exactly what he did.

After washing himself, he went to Solas' office in the clinic. The Clinic is usually open 24/7 and of course the doctors inside change shifts.

Once Eclair got there he was disappointed to find that someone else was on shift, nonetheless, he stayed at the clinic and decided to train his disciplines there.

He sat on a bed and started training his Guard and Aura. However, that didn't last long as Solas walked in and saw Eclair.

Solas nudged his head, urging Eclair to follow him as he left the clinic. Eclair didn't lag and stood up to follow Solas.

Looking at the sky, it was still dark despite being morning.

"I like that you're enthusiastic. Good thing I've already measured your limit." Solas stated simply. "We will train from 6 in the morning till 11 in the evening. Sounds good?"

Eclair's eyes lit up and he nodded.
