Reincarnated in Naruto As an Uchiha

Chapter 2: Meeting...?

Indra stretched and looked around his tiny apartment. It was a mess. Dusty floors, clothes scattered everywhere, and a smell that definitely wasn't pleasant.

"Guess cleaning is the first mission of the day."

Since it was Sunday, there were no academy classes. He might as well make the place livable.

After a while, the room looked somewhat decent. The floor was clean, his bed wasn't an absolute disaster, and he even found a fishing rod while sorting through the mess.

With that done, he headed to the bathroom. A long, refreshing bath was exactly what he needed. As he soaked in the warm water, his mind wandered.

"Showing too much talent means Danzo breathing down my neck. Showing too little means no resources…" He sighed. "If I side with the Hokage faction, there's a slim chance of surviving, but even that's risky."

He exhaled and rubbed his body.

Then, he paused.

"It's small..."

Silence.

He blinked.

"Okay, phrasing could've been better."

(After a While...)

Feeling refreshed, Indra walked over to the fridge. The moment he opened it, he froze.

Empty.

Well, not completely empty. There was an opened milk carton and… a few cookies?

He stared.

"Am I seriously eating that?"

The fridge door slammed shut.

"Nope."

Grabbing the fishing rod he found earlier, he decided to catch himself a proper meal.

The pond was quiet, its surface shimmering under the sunlight. Indra peered into the water, eyes locking onto a big fish.

"Damn, that thing's huge..."

It reminded him of some YouTuber he used to watch.

He moved forward, hands ready to snatch it—but it darted away.

His brow twitched.

Fine. If catching it by hand didn't work, he'd just wait it out.

Rod in hand, he sat by the pond and waited...

And waited...

And waited...

Then—a pull.

With the Six-Tails' chakra subtly strengthening his body, he yanked the rod back with a smooth motion. A long, fat fish broke through the surface, flailing wildly in the air.

Indra grinned. "Judging by its meat... this should last me three days!"

He grabbed a kitchen knife and, with practiced ease, cleaned out the organs.

His movements were quick, precise. In his past life, he had worked in a restaurant, meaning he could cook dishes that didn't even exist in this world.

Like… curry rice.

Just the thought made a bit of drool leak from the corner of his lips.

Excited, he quickly started a fire to cook the fish.

That's when he heard it.

A small, hesitant voice.

"Can I… have some?"

Indra looked at the boy nonchalantly, but inside, his mind was in turmoil.

"What!? Naruto??"

Yes, standing in front of him was Naruto Uzumaki, asking for food.

"Umm… okay," Indra replied.

Naruto's face lit up with a goofy smile as he plopped down beside him.

"What's your name?" Naruto asked, curiosity evident in his eyes.

"Indra."

Naruto repeated it, rolling the name on his tongue. "Indra, huh? Nice name! My name is Naruto Uzumaki, dattebayo!"

He grinned and extended his hand. Indra hesitated for a moment before shaking it firmly.

"So, why are you here, Naruto?" Indra asked, though he already knew the answer.

"Well, you know…" Naruto scratched his cheek with a sheepish grin. "I ran out of food, so I came here looking for something. But when I saw your fish, my stomach couldn't take it!"

Indra nodded. "Oh… I came here for the same reason."

His eyes shifted to the cooked fish, laying it neatly on a patch of leaves.

"You eat this one, and I'll eat this," Indra said, pointing at their respective meals.

Naruto eagerly nodded and wasted no time devouring his portion.

As they ate, a deep, rumbling voice echoed in Indra's mind.

"Kid, that blonde brat is the vessel for the Nine-Tails."

Indra's brow twitched slightly at Saiken's sudden words.

"Be careful."

With that, Saiken went silent again.

Indra glanced at Naruto, who was still stuffing his face without a care in the world. He sighed and continued eating.

Soon, the food was gone.

Naruto leaned back, patting his stomach in satisfaction. "Ahhh, that was great! Thanks for the food, Indra-kun!"

Indra smirked. "No worries, Naruto."

The two parted ways, each heading home.

Indra reached his apartment and collapsed onto his bed, staring at the ceiling. After a moment, he waved his hand, and the status screen appeared before him.

[Status]

He stared at the screen and sighed. "How can I increase this?"

The system responded instantly.

[By training.]

Indra blinked. "You can talk?"

No response.

He waited a few seconds, then shrugged it off. Weird system.

With exhaustion finally catching up, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

---

(Next Morning)

Birds chirped outside, and the golden sunlight peeked through the windows, landing on Indra's face. He blinked blearily, groaning as he stretched.

He got up lazily and made his way to the bathroom, splashing water on his face and brushing his teeth.

Afterward, he took out yesterday's cooked fish, reheated it, and paired it with a cup of milk.

"I'm a growing ninja, so I need milk," he muttered to himself.

Once he was done, he grabbed some fresh clothes from his wardrobe, got dressed, and stepped outside, locking his apartment door behind him.

---

The academy wasn't far, but Indra took his time, walking at a slow, lazy pace.

His sluggish movements caught someone's attention.

"...What a drag..."

Indra ignored it and made his way inside the academy, heading straight for his classroom.

As soon as he entered, the familiar buzz of chatter and laughter from the other students filled his ears. He sighed and found his seat—right in the middle.

"No protagonist window seat?"

Shaking his head, he glanced at the person sitting beside him.

"...What a drag..."

Indra didn't need to look to know who it was. Shikamaru Nara. The boy had his head resting on his desk, looking like he'd rather be anywhere else.

Feeling like making a friend, Indra mimicked him, laying his head down as well.

"I wish I was a cloud," he murmured.

Shikamaru raised a brow, finally turning to look at him. "Why?"

Indra lazily turned his head. "Clouds can go wherever they want... just floating in the sky, peacefully."

Shikamaru's eyes slightly widened, then he nodded in understanding.

"...You get me?" Indra asked.

Shikamaru studied him for a moment before speaking. "Well... judging by your face structure and hair... you kinda look like an Uchiha."

There was a slight testing tone in his voice.

Indra lazily turned his eyes toward him. "Uchiha? Troublesome..."

Shikamaru smirked and pointed at a particular student sitting at the front.

"See that guy? Sasuke Uchiha. You two look kinda similar."

Indra glanced at Sasuke for a second before shrugging.

"Mm... but even the Yuhi clan has some similarities with their eye techniques... what was it again? Oh, yeah. Sharingan."

Shikamaru's gaze flickered with understanding.

The conversation ended there, and both boys remained silent for a while.

After a few minutes, Indra spoke. "I'm Indra. Nice to meet you."

Shikamaru yawned and lazily replied, "Shikamaru… what a drag."

Before they could continue, the classroom door swung open, and Iruka-sensei strode to the podium.

"Silence!" he roared, instantly shutting down all chatter.

The class groaned as Iruka sighed and announced, "We're going to do math today!"

Immediately, the room was filled with complaints.

Indra grinned. How hard can it be?
