Chapter 0080: The One I Don't Want to See
Ahhh...
The chilling screams echoed across the battlefield, mingling with the acrid stench of charred flesh as the burnt bodies of Sand ninja fell to the ground like lifeless husks.
Shock and horror blanketed the scene. Everyone present, including Umizuki Yūma, stood frozen, their faces painted with disbelief. Was this real? Was I not dreaming?
A boy under ten years old was wielding such unmatched swordsmanship, dispatching Sand ninja as if they were mere vegetables. But his proficiency with ninjutsu was equally astounding, utterly shattering their perceptions!
Where was the fairness in this world? How could someone so young reach a level they would struggle to achieve in a lifetime? Was the heavens being overly generous to him?
If only they knew my true feelings! If the heavens truly favored me, why would it curse me with such a dreadful system, forcing me into this twisted role?
"Fighting him? No way! We can't win! We should retreat for now!" one terrified Sand ninja exclaimed, his resolve crumbling. He even contemplated whether to strip and throw his underwear to me.
His companion scoffed, "Coward! It's just a kid; what's there to fear?!"
"Since you're so brave, why don't you go be the hero then?"
"Uh, you know what? I don't think I'm cut out for heroism. Let's figure out how to escape instead..."
"No need to think anymore," a voice suddenly cut through their conversation. "Leave this to me. You all go!"
The two Sand ninja turned, startled, to see a familiar, lovely face. "Yekura-sama?" "Yekura-sama, we don't want to run; we just..."
"I understand." Yekura interrupted them and stepped right between them, walking toward me. "His strength is beyond your level. You need to leave. This battlefield no longer requires your presence."
What does she mean?
The Sand ninja exchanged confused glances, but Yekura had no intention of explaining further. She stepped up to face me. "From now on, I'll be your opponent."
"Honestly, I don't want to see you," I admitted, my expression betraying a hint of distress. No matter how I looked at it, I had treated Yekura unfairly before, making it impossible for me to strike her down.
For some reason, Yekura seemed furious upon hearing my words. She coldly retorted, "I very much want to see you! I will never forgive myself if I don't take your life!" With a flick of her wrist, a kunai appeared in her hand.
Huh? These two know each other? What kind of unpleasant history do they share?
Umizuki Yūma was filled with curiosity, his interest piqued.
"Don't do this; you can't kill me," I shook my head. "Just walk away."
"Ha! How can I know unless I try?!" Yekura sneered, her figure suddenly shooting toward me like a bolt of lightning.
"Uncle, you might want to step back a bit," I sighed helplessly, my right hand gripping the hilt of my sword.
Clang!
The sound of metal clashing rang out, sparks flying as I blocked Yekura's kunai with my blade. With a slight twist of my wrist, I pushed her back. However, she didn't give up; as she retreated, she quickly formed hand signs, conjuring a series of fiery red orbs that swirled around her.
Scorch Release: Oversteamed Kill!
Just like our first battle, Yekura maneuvered the fireballs in mid-air before launching them at me like cannonballs.
I stood rooted to the spot, seemingly stunned. I didn't move until the fireballs drew dangerously close. At that moment, I abruptly vanished from her sight.
What?!
Yekura's eyes widened in shock.
Before she could process what had happened, my blade pressed against her back. The cold touch made her shiver, her face a mask of disbelief. "This is impossible! Your speed can't be this fast!"
"I learned some new tricks recently," I replied nonchalantly. "You're not my match; just give up."
Give up?
Those words struck a nerve, and Yekura pivoted around, allowing my blade to pierce her chest. She glared at me coldly, "I admit, your strength exceeds my expectations... but I won't give up unless I die!"
Before I could respond, she seized my arm, and a ball of flame erupted from her mouth, swelling rapidly.
I stared, dumbfounded. "What the hell?! Are you insane?!"
"Yes, I'm indeed insane," Yekura cackled, though tears shimmered in her eyes. "The moment you humiliated me, I lost my mind! Let's die together!"
Buzzing sounds filled the air as the fireball grew larger, transforming into a blazing white light that enveloped us both.
Boom!
A deafening explosion echoed, and a massive mushroom cloud rose over the battlefield, sending shockwaves that scattered debris, blotting out the sky.
Note: I saw many people tell about Yekura and Pakura and I too think it is Pakura, however, the author has used different letters for these two names. I was confused and went directly with what he/she wrote. Sorry if it creates confusion.
