( Yuuki's POV )

Melina: The lord of the castle is the demigod Godrick, an enthusiastic practitioner of grafting, there is no doubt that the spider that the woman mentioned is his work.

Yuuki: Grafting, what is that?

Melina: an appalling practice of taking body parts from others to add their power to oneself, the transformation into that "spider" is a reward from Godrick to his best soldiers.

Yuuki: Very well there will be no need to contain myself.

The castle was on our way, so this worked well for us, but things are never smooth sailing in this place, at the entrance to the castle, another roadblock appeared.

???: foul tarnished, in search of the elder ring, emboldened by the flame of ambición.

Above a high stone entrance appeared a huge man with somewhat gray skin and horns on his head, who gave a short monologue that he surely had many opportunities to practice, jumping from high up to where I was and raising a huge smoke screen.

???: someone must extinguish thy flame, let it be Margit-... You're not tarnished.

Yuuki: I don't know what insult you're trying to throw at me but the only flames that are fuelling me are those of anger, so move out of the way.

The man who came down like a bomb stood in my way and said some things I didn't understand but I didn't want to waste time dealing with him so I gave him a way out but I could already tell that wasn't going to happen and I started to concentrate a lot of energy in my hand.

Margit: Tarnished or not, my duty is the same, to drive away the unworthy from the Eden Ring.

Yuuki: I don't know what you're saying, but, if that's what you decided.

I used [Accel] and [Boost] to deliver a powerful flying kick and despite the enormous size of the enemy in front of me, he was fast enough to block my attack with the staff he had, but he could barely manage that in a bad position and this was not my top speed, I activated [lightning body] and I pinballed at Margit's weapon and the ground to get behind him and used a powerful dropkick, We were on some kind of stone entrance bridge and with my attack I almost pushed him into the pit to the side.

Margit quickly pivoted and threw daggers of light in my direction, but as soon as he attacked, I had already positioned myself at his side, I raised my hand and used the other to support it because my next attack was going to be a big one.

Yuuki: [ Devas storm dragon.]

This was levels above the normal version, the energy ran around my arm while breaking parts of my skin, the attack grew until it could swallow Margit completely, and when I released the attack that was what happened, the dragon flew to the bottom of the pit that was next to us and after a few seconds I heard the impact and a pillar of water rose in the place

I couldn't waste any more time here, so with that done, I continued my way deeper into the castle, but before I could leave, I looked back to where I had come from, and I saw the woman in the red hood looking with wide eyes, she had followed behind me at some point.

Yuuki: Hey, what are you doing here? this place is dangerous.

???: I-I think that's what I should be saying.

The woman told me her name was Roderika, and she and I sat at the entrance to the castle as if a battle had not just taken place there, she told me that when she realized that our earlier interaction was not a hallucination of hers, she left the shack and tried to stop me from coming here and so she ended up witnessing my battle.

Putting aside the things she had experienced in this place, Roderika seemed like someone of a fearful nature, so I told her to be safe while I went into the castle, but she refused to return, in her words, she could not let a child take on such a dangerous task alone.

She was terrified of this place but was determined to accompany me, I saw none of the desperate desires she displayed in the shack so we ended up exploring the castle together, Roderika wasn't much in the physical department but she could use something called spirit ashes which were like a type of summoning of spirits of the dead called to fight again, and that summon was a giant Medusa that was like a damage sponge that protected Roderika.

This wasn't much different than my previous one, so things were calm, relatively speaking, but even so, Roderika was trembling, and it was not from fear of the enemy, I was soon able to confirm that when we passed near a pile of bodies.

A giant was hanging upside down over the pile of bodies, and when Roderika saw it, she ran to the top of it and began searching desperately for something, when her arms stopped, she stood still for a moment.

As she climbed down from the pile of bodies she showed me a strange round object that she carefully carried in a red cloth.

Yuuki: What do you have there?

Roderika: When someone becomes part of the spider, all that is left of them is a chrysalis, this is all that is left of my precious companions.

Roderika held the chrysalis close to her chest and she closed her eyes in a moment of silence.

Roderika: With this at least they can rest in peace.

Yuuki: Not yet, there are other bigger fish that need frying.

With Roderika a little more at peace, we set off for our next destination in the throne room, that guy Godrick is bound to be there or at least that was my intention, before that my luck put us in front of another lady, although from the way she dressed and carried herself she was not as needy as Roderika.
