( Yuuki's POV )

The place Astraea took me to was an area called Deeproot Depths, a dark and cold area, Astraea was following a specific magical signal, and as we moved forward, we encountered four guardians.

I share a look with Astraea, and we draw our swords, the blade of my sword lengthened with light magic, and Astraea did something similar by covering her sword with energy, we swing in different directions, and we cut the guardians in half as if they had been attacked by giant scissors.

Passing the guards, we entered a large circular room, and at the end of the place was the woman we were looking for, her name was Fia, she was sitting on a flat stone and was very calm for someone facing two powerful individuals who wiped out her guardians in a second.

Fia: Of all those who could come for me, I didn't imagine that the one closest to the Elden Lord's throne would come for me, I guess this is the end.

Yuuki: You don't sound surprised or worried.

I took another step forward and as if in automatic defense some floating flaming skulls launched themselves towards me, I snapped my fingers and released a wave of light that erased the skulls, and when the attack was neutralized and Fia opened her eyes wide and showed some emotion.

Yuuki: I just came to talk, you know, there's no need for that.

Fia: ... That wasn't me.

I saw that she was telling the truth so I approached her, this time with the death rune in my hand.

Fia: That rune, where did you find that.

With that, she closed her eyes and lay back on the rock where she was, I was curious about that process, but when I put my hand on her, I was enveloped in shadows, and all around me was darkness.

A strange humanoid figure with glowing red eyes appeared in front of me, and the shadows began to envelop my legs and continued up my body, but I wasn't worried I snapped my fingers again and pushed all the darkness back.

After that, I appeared in the circular area but Fia and Astraea disappeared and in their place, there was a violent dragon, I prepared myself to fight but at that moment I felt something strange and when I brought my hand closer to my neck, a spectral figure of Fia with her eyes closed appeared clinging to my neck.

I put that aside for the moment and focused on the enemy in front of me, I didn't want to waste time so I immediately transformed into my dragon form, I grabbed and slammed the other dragon's head into the ground then I punched it repeatedly, I only knew he had been defeated when the illusion broke and I was standing in front of Fia with the newly formed Death Rune.

Astraea: Hey you, get away from my master.

Astraea's voice caught my attention and I realized that Fia's spectral form was still clinging to my neck.

Fia: This power and the pure essence of death within you, is eye-opener, I know now everything was for this moment.

Essence of death? She must be talking about the power of Eu sealed inside me.

Yuuki: Maybe you're confused.

Fia: Things have never been clearer, supporting you is my mission.

While we were discussing we heard some metal footsteps approaching.

The knight left his sword in place and walked away, after that, I put Fia's spirit in one of Thanatos' coffins, and with that, we finally made our way into the mountains.

But again, we were slightly sidetracked when I encountered the swordswoman with the fake arm, Millicent, she felt that her mission was coming to an end, and this time she actually asked for my help, I believe she was necessary for my mission to clean this place from the Scarlett rot so I quickly accepted.

Our new target was a place called the Haligtree.

Yuuki: Hey Melina, why don't you ever say anything when I take a detour? Not that I'm complaining, I appreciate the confidence but I'm curious.
