Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Awakening of Power and Determination
The next morning I woke up, and as I expected, I was still Arata. Or, well, I. I got up lazily, made my bed, and headed straight to the kitchen. When I opened the fridge, I found a mess: it was only stocked with instant food and things that didn't inspire much confidence. This guy, the original Arata, couldn't cook. For a moment, I wondered if Fugaku had ever considered giving him up for adoption, since I was technically an orphan now. I sighed and decided to go to the market, but first, I brushed my teeth.
Once I was ready, I went out to buy some vegetables. I had a craving for something simple, like scrambled eggs with fried green bananas. As I walked through the streets, I noticed Obito in the distance. For a moment, I thought about his future but decided to ignore him. I couldn't change what was destined to happen right now, and approaching him would only complicate things.
With my groceries in hand, I returned home and began cooking. The aroma of the food filled the small kitchen, and for a brief moment, I felt at peace. I finished eating and decided it was time to gear up a bit. I bought kunai, shuriken, and other basic tools for training. Then I headed to one of the training fields in the Uchiha compound.
When I arrived, I decided to test this body. It was clear that the previous Arata hadn't put much effort into physical training. I started with the basics: 50 squats, 5 laps around the field, and exercises similar to the ones I did in my past life. Sweat quickly covered my forehead, and my weak body began to shake from the effort. When I finished, I was exhausted. I fell on my back in the grass, breathing heavily.
"This Uchiha kid is physically weak," I muttered to myself as I stared at the sky.
I knew I had a long road ahead to strengthen this body, but I couldn't help feeling a bit of determination. I had to be strong, not just for myself, but for everything this new world had in store for me.
The next training session was crucial: I had to activate and feel my chakra. I started with enthusiasm, but after 30 failed attempts, I finally succeeded. Although the chakra level in this body was relatively low, the sensation of activating it was exciting.
My next step was to work on chakra control. I began with the leaf exercise, placing it on my forehead. To my surprise, the control in this body turned out to be exceptional. The next step was to scale trees using only chakra on my feet. After just five attempts, I mastered the technique. With renewed confidence, I went to train by a lake. This challenge was much harder, but with patience and effort, I managed to walk on water consistently.
It was then that I wondered: what would happen if I tried activating the Sharingan? I closed my eyes and concentrated, sending chakra to them. Six minutes passed without success, and I was about to give up when I felt a sharp pain in my eyes. When I opened them and looked at the lake, I saw the three tomoe of the Sharingan reflected in the water. My astonishment was total, but the pain in my eyes didn't stop; on the contrary, it intensified.
Suddenly, the Sharingan pattern changed, evolving rapidly. The pain increased as my vision transformed into a more complex design. I had awakened the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan! Euphoria completely overwhelmed me. I couldn't contain my happiness and began jumping excitedly, thanking fate for this achievement.
When I focused to explore my abilities, my mind was flooded with information about the power of my eyes:
Left eye: Restriction - A skill that could trap opponents in a time loop, completely stopping them.
Right eye: Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame - It allowed me to deconstruct and reconstruct anything at my will.
Combined ability: Ultimatum - A technique that stopped time entirely for five minutes, without anyone noticing, even during activation or deactivation.
This last ability filled me with overwhelming joy. The power of time was in my hands! However, my euphoria was short-lived. Suddenly, I felt my body weakening, and an overwhelming emptiness took over me. My chakra had been completely drained. Before I could process it, I lost consciousness and fell to the ground.
I woke up on a stretcher, assuming I was in the Konoha hospital. I wasn't too worried, as it seemed like a safe place. Suddenly, the door opened, and I saw a nurse with Fugaku, which surprised me. The nurse approached and told me that I nearly died from running out of chakra, and once she left, Fugaku and I were left alone.
Fugaku: "Kid, what kind of mistake did you make to run out of chakra like that?"
Arata: "I was training chakra control by the lake, and I guess I overdid it, Mr. Fugaku."
Fugaku: "Training? You're a civilian, right? Though I'm surprised you know about that, where did you hear about it?"
Arata: "About the leaves, Mr. Fugaku. Sometimes the nurses talk about this type of training."
Fugaku: "And how did you end up training by the lake?"
Arata: "I also did the tree exercise, just experimenting."
Fugaku: "Kid, do you want to become a ninja?"
Arata: "The truth is, yes, but I want to train on my own."
Fugaku: "Do you know what situation we're in?"
Arata: "Yes, I do. A war that hasn't ended yet."
Fugaku: "If you become a ninja and the village asks for warriors from the clan, you'll have to go, and that includes you if you train well, because from what I hear, you have good chakra control, though today's disaster is another matter."
Arata: "I'm sorry. Well, it doesn't matter, but will I have time to train?"
Fugaku: "I'll make sure of it. We need personnel for the war, and the clan doesn't have many warriors. Well, I'm leaving, kid. See you."
Fugaku closed the door, and I was left thinking about what he had said. I won't tell anyone about the Eternal Mangekyo yet; I still have trouble understanding it. But now, focusing, I thought about the absurd amount of chakra I needed. I had to surpass my limits to use my eyes and abilities. I reflected on the high physical and mental cost of this Ultimatum ability: each use drained a massive amount of chakra, even leaving me weak or vulnerable. Using it once could cost me temporary blindness or even death if I didn't have enough energy. The price was high, but I had no other choice. I needed more chakra for my other abilities, and also to activate my Eternal Mangekyo. I would have to train my body and increase my chakra capacity next week.
At least I no longer had the weakness of blindness. Three days passed, and I had recovered, so I got up to train. I arrived at the training field and said to myself, "I'm going to do everything I can to survive in this world. If God or fate gave me this opportunity, I will take it!"
And although I didn't have answers to all my questions, I knew I had to keep moving forward.
