Chapter 1504: The Mysterious Spirit
-----
Khepri, perhaps the most bizarre spirit Aquarina had ever seen. It could speak like any other person, had a proper personality from the beginning, and seemed to even be dual elemental. Has she ever seen a spirit being of two elements? Not even Sylphy's Spirits were dual elemental.
The only spirit she could think about might be Cumulus, Zack's Spirit, as it produced both Winds and Lightning. Which are certainly different elements, but at the same time so connected as part of the "Cloud Element" that perhaps they were kind of the same too, just two faces of the same coin.
But Khepri was quite different, they were a Sunlight and Sand Spirit, a very different combination of elements that weren't really quite the same, but that had a relation within the Desert.
So maybe she thought that Khepri could be addressed as a Desert Spirit instead, though that was all up to the spirit herself.
Nonetheless, she was even the owner of a strange magical item, a red jewel that allowed her to detect where her precious "ornaments" had gone to, which she wanted to find drastically.
And also a bunch of other details Silvia explained to them…
"Wait, can Spirits have previous lives to begin with?" Justicio wondered. "I was sure they were just born as spirits out of spirit energy? This is weird."
"Not all of them are like this…" Aquarina said. "Leviathan wasn't born naturally; he was born from the soul of someone… And also my girlfriend, Sylphy has quite a few other Spirits like this, born from the Souls she absorbs which then slowly mutate into Spirits and technically "revive". Maybe Khepri went through a similar transformation. Do you remember anything else, buggy?"
"Don't call me buggy…" groaned Khepri. "And I don't have any obligation to tell you anyways! Now Silvia, will you help me?"
"If that means you'll make a contract with me now, sure!" Silvia smiled, nodding. Experience more on My Virtual Library Empire
"Very well, I'll add a condition to our familiar and master contract then," smiled Khepri. "The condition is that you must help me gather the three ornaments within a week, and if you can't, the contract shall be nulled, and we'll go our separate ways."
"Eeeh! But that's… only one week?!" Silvia cried. "Aquarina, help meeee!"
"Agh, fine…" Aquarina sighed. "We'll help you out find the ornaments."
"We?!" Justicio asked. "I never agreed to this, oi!"
"Don't be an ass and just nod like a good kid," Aquarina crossed her muscular arms, glaring at Justicio with her sharp red eyes. "I've helped you get all the ingredients for your Beast Aura and Physique; you're going to just scram now?"
"Yes, yes, of course I'll help, haha! W-We're all friends after all…" Justicio nodded while forcing a smile, constantly sweating.
"Alright then, we might as well try to see if there's any of those things nearby…" Aquarina said. "For now make the contract with my friend, hurry."
"What's wrong with her? She's so pushy…" Khepri complained. "But fine… Hmm, how do you do it though?"
"You don't know?!" Silvia gasped. "I-I don't know either you know?!"
Aquarina facepalmed again.
"Ugh, you guys are truly hopeless… Let me help you."
At the end, Aquarina instructed them how to do the familiar contract between master and spirit, it was simpler than they imagined.
By touching one another directly, and swearing their contract with the conditions, it was already created.
Both the spirit and the girl saw memories of one another, as part of the contract creation.
However, Silvia didn't saw much of anything, it seemed that the memories from Khepri were so foggy she was unable to see their past.
Nonetheless, she saw her possessing animals and traveling the desert and the dry steppes for many years, and not just a few, hundreds of years…
Perhaps even thousands of years.
"H-How long has she lived?" she wondered.
Of course, it wasn't as if she lived thousands of years or something, they were just many images, and she noticed how much the world was changing.
"Hmph, what a cute little life you've had," Khepri giggled. "Hohoho, I enjoyed seeing your little struggles. That village is quite welcoming too! I shall go pay a visit with you, yes? Then we must eat. I've been grown bored of eating just pure energy… I desire delicious well-cooked meat!"
"Sure, I'll feed you all you want later," nodded Silvia. "Hm… wait, my tummy is rumbling, I think I'm already hungry."
"I guess it can't be helped," Aquarina said. "Here, have these for now! Once we catch the big snake in the lake, we can eat that too."
Aquarina shared her sandwiches, giving two to her two friends and keeping two for herself, they were full of melted cheese, four delicious steaks of feathered serpent wyvern meat, veggies and mushrooms, and a lot of sauces, from white, creamy sauces with a citric and yogurt flavor to spicy sauces. Of course, there were also some fried eggs inside of them.
Her father had made incredible sandwiches specifically for his daughter's voracious appetite and fast metabolism. And Aquarina loved them, eating her two sandwiches in just a couple bites, and she ended wanting more, but felt sad that was it.
"Hmm, these sandwiches are so good!" Silvia celebrated.
"Oh man, this is phenomenal! Who made this? You?" Justicio asked.
"My dad made them," said Aquarina, looking around after she finished her sandwiches in a matter of seconds and then drank some fresh water. "I think Pyuku had probably spotted the creature, I've heard some signals coming from him… Khepri, while we are at it, can you try to detect where the ornaments you want are?"
"Sure," Khepri nodded, she was eating half a sandwich Silvia shared with her. "Hmm, this is actually pretty fine… Nom, nom… Hmm! Oh… I haven't eaten something like this in eons."
The group quickly walked out of the caves, finally coming back to the Oasis.
And then…
"Aquarina! I found it! It's HUGE! More than I imagined! It's coming after me after it spotted me! I-I don't know what Tier it is, but it sure is strong! I'm coming out! Can you help me?! I don't want to be eateeeen!"
"Pyuku! Okay, I'm going! Wait!"
Aquarina nodded running towards the Oasis with her friends.
Until…
SPLAAASH!
It finally appeared!
[The [Giant Oasis Wyrm (Tier 8)] has emerged from its watery hideout!]
