Chapter 534: Voucher Lottery
"Eh, how come his corpse seemed very lifeless?" Carmen suddenly expressed her concern when she noticed something abnormal with Brian.
Usually, when a player died, there would still be some shimmering light shrouding the body, but Brian was void of that.
"It's lifeless because Brian has logged out of the Divine World." Xu Feng casually explained, not a bit surprised that Brian was that decisive.
Without a doubt, Brian opted not to be revived right away.
As for trying to revive him with his skill and slaughter him again and again like what he did to Hundred Ghost, that was not available. What Brian did was what most players would usually do during a Guild War or Guild Siege.
If they knew their chance of victory was gone, then they might as well log out after getting killed with the option of revival temporarily turned off.
By doing so, they won't be resurrected and get killed again and again. After all, equipment at a higher stage was very rare and limited.
Dying once and losing a level was fine, but dying and losing multiple pieces of equipment or items was the worst situation ever. Since it was already guaranteed a loss of items after getting killed once, they naturally wouldn't allow themselves to be killed twice or thrice, or even more times. 'As expected of someone from a Super Guild. They've already studied a lot of the mechanics of the Divine World.' Xu Feng mused, having known that Brian had opted out of the option of being able to revive from non-teammates or guildmates.
Because Hundred Ghost was brainless and couldn't be bothered with any of the numerous system features, he didn't opt out of the option, resulting in him being killed back to level 0 almost immediately.
Most of the time, players need to camp in the nearest city or lay another formation, preventing them from being revived to the nearest location.
Therefore, they would remain stuck but that kind of formation was too advanced and currently unavailable.
Even if Xu Feng racked his brain up in hopes of getting his hand on it, the chances of it happening were 0 percent.
And it was that tedious to achieve the objective of killing back to level 0 when the Divine World advanced further. Only those with a deep and intense grudge would spend that much time to complete it.
"Then I guess this corpse is a good mark for our advancement into the big stage." Zhao Kai, who was beaten black and blue by Flint, returned and pointed at Brian's corpse with his gun. He then proceeded to poke it a few times, almost as if he was testing Brian was truly not present.
OneManMedia seriously wanted to stream Zhao Kai's current appearance more intensely but decided not to.
'He's still a guild member and a higher rank than me.' He thought to himself, having reasoned that it was not worth the cost. This was especially true when he noticed how casual Zhao Kai was acting toward Xu Feng.
Even a fool could tell the two were quite close, and offending him would only be asking for trouble in the future.
"Guild Leader, should we continue the stream?" OneManMedia suddenly asked, wondering if the streaming was still needed. It was crystal clear that the Vanguard Guild had once again escaped a big crisis— this time against a bigger behemoth than the Reaver Guild.
Xu Feng pondered for a moment before nodding.
"I appreciate all those who had remained in the stream and tuned in. The stream would be handled by OneManMedia in the future and he will have the discretion to operate the streaming category of the guild." He then announced, giving OneManMedia complete authority.
Streaming might have given them extra income, but it was far from enough for Xu Feng's standard.
Not to mention, he really wasn't interested in streaming his gameplay when most of the things he did were going to be unique and mysterious to them.
Meanwhile, OneManMedia received a shock, clearly not expecting such a reward.
The difference between streaming with his personal Divine World account versus the Vanguard Guild account was comparable between the Earth and Heaven.
"Really?" OneManMedia's eyes widened. He then asked enthusiastically. "Can I stream other guild mates then?"
When he said that, his eyes subtly glanced at Carmen and Veronica.
Naturally, he was only going to stream the people that the public had a high interest in. Otherwise, who would tune in for a stream and watch people they were not interested in?
Carmen was the undisputable strongest summoner. As for Veronica, while new, her appearance and vast improvement garnered her quite a few dedicated fans already.
"Don't ask me about that." Xu Feng shrugged and refrained from being like a dictator who ordered his guild mates around regardless of their will.
"If they agreed to be in the stream for you, then you may proceed. But if they said no, then I expect you to respect them." He warned solemnly, not giving OneManMedia an opportunity to abuse his newfound authority.
"Yes, Guild Leader. I promise I won't dare to overstep my fellow guild mates' freedom and will." OneManMedia declared with a serious expression.
Of course, even without the warning, OneManMedia wasn't going to overstep his authority and attempted such action.
The reason why he left his Media Company was because of how unethical they were, so he clearly won't follow in their footsteps.
'I did want to become an honest reporter though, but special circumstances require special principles.' OneManMedia understood there was no absolute justice in the world, but he could at least try to seek justice.
At the very least, Xu Feng hadn't made him record fake videos like the previous time when dealing with the disgusting NPC Rolph.
Just when OneManMedia was about to turn off the stream, Xu Feng raised his hand and stopped him.
"You have something else to say?" Confused, OneManMedia thought he had already said his piece.
"Well, I just found it insincere of us to simply turn off the stream without giving them something in return." Xu Feng chuckled.
Due to the fact that OneManMedia was constantly forced to put the stream on pause, causing disturbance and immersion for the viewers, he decided to do something to retain them.
"After the stream concludes, there will be a voucher lottery where 10 lucky viewers will be selected to gain entry to the Vanguard Guild's upcoming auction. Those who spend the most during the stream will naturally receive more entries, increasing their chances, but the final draw will be conducted via a live wheelspin by OneManMedia to ensure transparency and fairness."
